Most conservative commentators have reacted with glee to a report from Reuters that: The FBI has found scant evidence that the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol was the result of an organized plot to overturn the presidential election result, according to four current and former law enforcement officials. “FBI Destroys Insurrection Narrative,” headlined Legal Insurrection. And it’s hard to avoid a sense of triumph (snip) But Tucker Carlson, the most important conservative commentator of the moment, takes his reasoning a full step farther. In a segment of the Friday edition of Tucker Carlson Tonight, he asked, “Why is the FBI exonerating people?”

So the "Insurrection" was actually committed by the Feds so as to blame Trump supporters. Sounds familiar to other events in the recent past.

Tactics like this used to be called entrapment, and were at one time illegal. Not that the law would mean anything to an agency like the FIB.

I agree #1. Carlson has been discussing quite insightfully the possible- what certainly appears to be the undoubted- extensive corruption and abuse of power of and by these massive “law” enforcement agencies which are becoming merely political punishment organizations. I was recently wondering: how many times in the last 25 years has the head of the FBI persomally taken an unvetted- or known to be unreliable- intelligence report to the president of the United States to show it to him?

Presuming the truth of Reuters and unnamed sources... This insurrection lemon has been wrung dry of any juice. The Department of Justice has revealed itself as muscle for the UNIPARTY/Government mob that now governs practically unfettered. There seem to be few "checks and balances" except to mop up the opposition. Americans are pretty much cowed these days. Meanwhile, along the border and in Seattle and Portland...

Life imitating art? We're currently watching season 6 of Bosch - the one in which a respected doctor is killed by domestic terrorists while delivering them stolen cesium in exchange for his kidnapped wife. The cesium is recovered so the FBI then urges the LAPD to arrest the suspects to expeditiously wrap up their murder case, but it turns out that it was one of their agents who pulled the trigger in partnership with the widow in order to make off with patent royalties. This is not Efram Zimbalist, Jr's FBI.

Totally agree with Tucker. The Federal Bureau of Idiots, Pelousi and the DC police want this to go away. I believe it was for some time in the making . You might recall that it became strangely quiet some months before the election. They knew Trump's march was planned and they wanted to use it to turn it against him. Strange how people got arrested for having done nothing but a woman was shot by a crazed DC police man who had already left a fully loaded gun in a bathroom before. THAT creep needs to see prison time, be demoted and tossed from the DC police dept. without pension, benefits, etc.

Now that we have had 18 months to “slow the spread” it is time to take stock of the pandemic. We have learned many good things that the media and our pandemic managers rarely report. Most fundamentally, we do not need to be afraid of COVID-19 anymore. The media and some government health authorities are still pushing hysteria and fear, but that should not prevail. (snip) Globally, the survival rate for COVID-19 is 99.8%. Under the age of 70, the survival rate for COVID-19 is 99.97%. (snip) Early outpatient treatment should be adopted immediately for COVID-19. Hydroxychloroquine works. Ivermectin works.

The Taliban announced that they expected America to be out of Afghanistan as of August 31, even though there are tens of thousands of American citizens and Afghan allies still trapped in the country. Joe Biden did not tell the Taliban to go pound sand. Instead, he meekly agreed provided that America was still allowed to get Westerners and certain Afghan citizens to the Kabul airport during that time. Even the G7 leaders who were thrilled with Biden in June are unhappy.

Thanks to the news out of Afghanistan, Jen Psaki’s recent admission that the executive branch has been colluding with the tech giants to suppress free speech, has apparently passed into the ether with far less scrutiny than it deserves. In fact, this is such a clear violation of the First Amendment that it defies any obvious logic or rationale. But Psaki’s announcement isn’t the first act in this play; it’s only the most recent act in the left’s years-long flouting of the rule of law.

Although the leftists I know are still resolutely silent about Biden’s Afghanistan debacle, even the mainstream media has caught on to the fact that something dreadful is happening there: Americans are trapped in Afghanistan with diminishing chances of escape, our military is essentially trapped at Kabul airport, tens of thousands of Afghan citizens have been getting on flights that will see them end up in America, sharia and all, and the Taliban is on its usual murderous rampage. The worst thing of all, according to Lara Logan, is that we’re being told there’s nothing to be done...and that’s a lie.

Probably the most truthful thing Nancy Pelosi has ever uttered is “We [Democrats] don’t agonize. We organize.” For decades, Democrats have been strategically honing extensive networks that coordinate action and funding between government agencies, elected officials, NGOs, corporations, schools, houses of worship, cultural institutions, unions, industries, and now the military. They are the industrious ant colonies of politics. Republicans, on the other hand, do not organize. We agonize. We are more comfortable wringing our hands, quoting the Founding Fathers, listening to talk radio, and going on cruises than organizing and taking meaningful action.

As the California recall referendum approaches, we know that the leftist California gang determined to entrench Gov. Gavin Newsom in power no matter how unpopular he is with voters, and no matter how much they want him out, has been busy. So here's the latest rig they've cooked up, exposed very well by an apparently concerned liberal named Jenner Asper. Seems the envelope to the state's mail-in ballots, which have already gone out except reportedly to people who signed the recall referendum petition, contains two holes. Those two holes expose the contents of the one-vote ballot in exactly the right strategic place.
