PUNTA GORDA, Fla.—Gov. Ron DeSantis announced on Aug. 12 that he is launching a Rapid Response Team to dispense monoclonal antibodies to tackle Florida’s rising number of COVID-19 cases and reduce serious symptoms, preventing the potential for hospital overcrowding.
“This is probably the best thing that we can do to reduce the number of people that require hospitalization,” DeSantis said at a news conference in Jacksonville, adding that vaccines were strongly encouraged and were effective at preventing hospitalizations and deaths by at least 70 percent.
“Clear benefits to this early treatment is keeping people out of the hospital and reducing mortality,” he said.
Ivermectin and HCQ are cheap and readily available, and can help immensely when given to patients in the early stages of the infection. Um.. science? Gotta go with the expensive stuff too gov?

At one time, I was convinced that the monoclonal antibodies treatment would be one of the most effective treatments. President Trump got this treatment, among others.
Somehow it dropped off the Enemedia 'permitted to mention' list, so I haven't heard much about it. Sounds like DeSantis has done the due diligence to find out what really is effective out of the modern and politically correct treatments. This is one of the few treatments that I would likely accept, if offered. But, info is still sparse in the public sphere.
FTA:
"He also said the state’s surgeon general, Dr. Scott Rivkees, will issue an order to make certain sites available to people who meet certain criteria where they won’t need a doctor’s prescription. Anyone is eligible, especially those in high-risk categories such as the elderly and those with diabetes, autoimmune disorders, and other preexisting conditions."
This is very interesting. It will at least generate a lot of valuable data on how effective this seemingly medically solid treatment will be in large numbers of patients.

AS #1 points out, an ounce of prevention (Ivermectin, HCQ, Zinc, D3, K2, C) is worth several pounds of 'cure*'.
*As proclaimed by the propagandists but not seen in reality.

I’m one of the few who still often listen to Sean Hannity. Every time I do, he is hawking monoclonal antibodies, (which he always pronounces incorrectly). He doesn’t mention hydroxychloroquine or ivermectin which are much less expensive as well as effective, tried and true. I doubt he is being reimbursed for this, presumably he is a believer.

If you can't get friends or relatives to do much prophylactic care, like the good stuff proposed by one poster, at least get them taking a 5,000 IU capsule each day. By itself, this is the single best protection you can get, if limited to one.
Cheap insurance. ~$30 for a year's worth of them at the drug store.
Low natural D levels in winter are why there are 'seasonal illnesses', too little sun exposure to make enough Vitamin D naturally in winter.

Hospitals, from my experience with my late husband, have been over crowded and short of beds for decades.

Ivermectin and HCQ are good in the very early stages. This monoclonal antibody is for people in the hospital who are sicker. Get your facts straight !

#10, Trump got monoclonal antibodies about the second day, and that seems very appropriate, inactivating the virus before it does significant harm.

It's about time someone started promoting this highly effective treatment for COVID. I guess because Trump facilitated its development, and took it when he got sick, it was cancelled. We have vaccines and treatments for this virus. That is more than we have for the flu or the common cold. Can we please just go back to normal now?
