Pelosi: Biden Doesn’t Have Power
to Forgive Student Loans

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) says President Joe Biden doesn’t have the legal authority to forgive federal student loans, in what appears to be a disagreement with other top Democrats. For months, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) has issued near-daily tweets insisting that Biden forgive all student loans. But during a weekly press conference on July 28, Pelosi said Biden can only pause or delay student loan payments and can’t unilaterally cancel them. “He can postpone, he can delay, but he does not have that power,” Pelosi told reporters. “That would best be an act of Congress.”

How about we just force the worthless loan defaulters into poverty until they pay back the loans they agreed to? No eating out. No traveling. No cell phones. Clothing only from resale shops.

FTA: Sen. Jon Tester (D-Mont.) told reporters earlier this year, “I’m not inclined to support because a lot of people have worked very, very hard to pay off their debts, and this would set a bad example.” Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) said around the same time that he would be concerned about how the government would pay for that much student loan forgiveness. Weasel words from weasels.

They should put all the loan sharks out of business. We should pay for goods and services, not usurious interest rates or the dictatorial bankers. Get rid of all loan debt -- start with mortgage loans and then college loans. What value do we get out of a $100k house, if after we finish paying it off we've sunk $300k more than that in interest over a 30 year term? There are less people each year able to afford a starter house. Meanwhile, renters are paying the same monthly cost for a small apartment. At least, that is the way it goes in the northeast.

Prior to the election last year, I was in the presence of a 72-year-old woman who, in a single diatribe, excoriated Trump, praised Biden, dissed Mexicans, and triumphed the fact that Biden, once elected, will forgive her student loans. It was quite the performance. 72 years old with student loans???? God help us all from the “educated” hypocrites

Back years ago, when SNL was funny, Gilda Radner used to do a skit as Emily Litella. Emily was hard of hearing but did a skit where she would comment on some percieved problem as a parody of the then-in-effect "Fairness Doctrine." A typical example: What is all this fuss I hear about the Supreme Court decision on a "deaf" penalty? It's terrible! Deaf people have enough problems as it is! The news anchor would interrupt Litella to point out her error, along the lines, "That's death penalty, Ms. Litella, not deaf ... death." Litella would wrinkle her nose, say something like, "Oh, that's very different," then meekly turn to the camera and say, smiling, "Never mind!" When Litella played against news anchor Chevy Chase, he would be somewhat sympathetic to her. But when Jane Curtin took over the anchor role, she would scold Litella, "Every week you come on and you get it wrong," to which Litella would reply, "*itch!" Reminds me of what Nancy, Bernie, AOC, Horizontal Harris, and Sleepy Creepy Crooked President Uncle Joe were spouting last year, suckering all those folks into thinking that electing these cretins would cancel their student loans. Problem is, that when Emily Litella said "Never Mind," it was funny. These folks can't pull that off.

“We were going to invent pandemic planning.” Those were the words of Dr. Rajeev Venkayya in 2005 when he headed the White House bioterrorism study group under George W. Bush. “We want to use all instruments of national power to confront this threat,” Venkayya told colleagues in the administration, as reported by Michael Lewis in his book “The Premonition.” That was the birth of the idea of national lockdown for pathogenic threat. To mainstream epidemiologists, the idea seemed crazy and potentially ruinous at the time, a fact that only emboldened its creators.

One — Reassuring an enemy what one will not do ensures that the enemy will do just that and more. Unpredictability and occasional enigmatic silence bolster deterrence. But President Joe Biden’s predictable reassurance to Russian President Vladimir Putin that he will show restraint means Putin likely will not. Two — No-fly zones don’t work in a big-power, symmetrical standoff. In a cost-benefit analysis, they are not worth the risk of shooting down the planes of a nuclear power. They usually do little to stop planes outside of such zones shooting missiles into them. Sending long-range, high-altitude anti-aircraft batteries to Ukraine to deny Russian air superiority is a far better

Amid inflationary U.S. federal spending, restrictions on domestic oil production, and the current Russia-Ukraine conflict, millions of Americans are suffering the consequences of the Biden administration’s dysfunction at the gas pump. Instead of investing in American energy, Democrats are actively suppressing the American energy industry and then telling Americans to spend their savings on overpriced electric cars to solve their problems. But the left isn’t being honest about the environmental and financial costs of those trendy electric vehicles. Last Thursday, Republican Rep. Thomas Massie of Kentucky took to Twitter to remind Americans that these cars are not as environmentally friendly as Democrats insist they are.

We could all see this coming. The Ukraine-Russia conflict creates the opportunity for the Build Back Better initiatives to get triggered. None of this is happening organically. All of this is opportunism based on a series of dominos purposefully triggered. Three government solutions to rising oil prices surface simultaneously in an effort to exploit the crisis they create Keep in mind, this economic roadmap was strategically outlined in the World Economic Forum “Build Back Better” initiative, and that was built upon the economic ‘climate change‘ opportunity that COVID-19 created. Thailand is buying submarines that it doesn’t need from China, and China has no engines to put in them. How could this happen? Perhaps the Thai navy got bad advice. Perhaps Thai officials got paid off by the Chinese—it is one of Beijing’s favorite strategies when signing contracts for billions of dollars around the world. Whatever happened, China sold Thailand something it couldn’t deliver: Chinese submarines with German engines. When Germany’s engine maker, MTU Friedrichshafen GmbH, refused to provide the engines due to European Union sanctions from the 1989 Tiananmen Square Massacre, Beijing realized it had to provide something else, or lose the Thai contract and its own pride.
