Events in South Africa affirm the
importance of our Second Amendment

A friend in South Africa has been keeping me updated about what’s going on there. According to him, it was “a well-planned attempt at provoking a civil uprising.” What’s extraordinary, though, is that, wherever armed, law-abiding citizens have been able to make a stand against the violence and anarchy, the rioters are backing down. My friend forwarded to me a round-robin letter (“the Letter”) that South Africans are sharing -- and that reflects his experiences. I’ve included excerpts from the Letter in the body of this post, but you can read the whole Letter here.

Comments:

Can’t say how relieved I am to have finally bought a firearm after wondering for years whether or not I should.

South Africa is being ruined like Zimbabwe, just more slowly. While it was Rhodesia it was the breadbasket of Africa. As Zimbabwe it is a basket case. South Africa will take longer to dismantle but it is happening. There is no happy future for you in South Africa if you are white.

Most interesting in the letter is that a Soros group is behind the disarm legislation in South Africa.

I have a friend who was stationed in South Africa in the 90s. She told me stories about how whites there were arming themselves. She knew one person who had a cannon in his arsenal.

What about Cuba? Those protests would have been a hell of a lot more successful if the people were armed.

Excerpts from The Letter: " it would practically mean the disarmament of the private citizens of South Africa. Behind this act were the obvious sinister forces: The rabid activists of Gunfree South Africa, funded by the Open Societies organization of George Soros. This is not a conspiracy story. You can fact check freely." and "When private citizens arrest the police for looting, you know that your country has become a zoo." One advantage that middle and upper class South Africans have over us is that they almost all have tall concrete walls, topped with razor wire or cast in place broken bottles, around their homes, with heavy steel gates to the home compound. This gives them a big advantage over the looters. Driving through a "nice neighborhood" in RSC, all you see are walls, and the tips of roofs peeking over. This has become the style due to to massive crime wave that they have endured for decades. An American friend, a former police officer was visiting some of his friends in RSA, about 2000 when he caught a robber who had climbed the wall and was in the house to steal. He managed to catch the thief, and after a fight, toss him out. He was told not to bother calling the police, nothing would be done. Other neighbor's black 'security guards' saw him being thrown out, and chased him down the street, armed with spears. I am sad for my friend Mike and his wife in RSA. Fifteen years ago, it was a beautiful country. Now the black communists, with the help of Soros, have mostly destroyed it., and are accelerating the destruction. This is what they plan for us.

The End of Critical Race Theory 10 replies

Critical Race Theory is liable to end for reasons very similar to the reasons the Salem witch trials ended. In January 1692, nine-year-old Elizabeth (Betty) Parris and 11-year-old Abigail Williams (the daughter and niece of Samuel Parris, minister of Salem Village) began having fits, including violent contortions and uncontrollable outbursts of screaming. After a local doctor, William Griggs, diagnosed bewitchment, other young girls in the community began to exhibit similar symptoms. A special court, the court of Oyer and Terminer convened in Salem to hear the cases; and based on spectral evidence the first convicted witch, Bridget Bishop, was hanged that June.

The recent Bruce Springsteen concert celebrates the return to post-COVID normalcy...for some. Everyone attending this event was required to show proof of vaccination, which raises some uncomfortable "what if" questions.(snip) As we've yet to learn from history, there are countless hypothetical combinations of excuses, rationalizations, and reasons people "identify" as something (or someone) they are not. In years past, the word "identify" usually meant "pretend." As an eight-year-old, I frequently "identified" as Superman, "flying" around the neighborhood with a magic beach towel cape.

As the old saying goes, “There are three kinds of lies: lie, damned lies, and statistics.” It is of the statistics I wish to address today. I’ve always said, and will continue to say, that if you can control the unit of measure, you can control everything. It’s a pretty simple concept – if you get to determine what constitutes funny, you can make yourself the funniest. Same goes for fastest, smartest, best looking, whatever you can think of – if you get to decide what makes something what it is, you have absolute power. While most people wouldn’t reconstitute a measurement of time

Mitt Romney prides himself in being a thorn in President Trump’s side, but he is just a gnat buzzing about the leftmedia that now reveres him. He’s become a joke but has yet to realize that. Romney wins the prize among the pathetic group of RINOS who think they can vanquish Trump by treating him and his supporters like pond scum. The problem with the left and the RINOS is that they assume, with no hint of irony, that they are smart and the rest of us are not. Actually, it is they who are blinkered to the point of blindness.

Obviously, she's doing so because President Trump has announced that he will be touring the border

I’m not a huge fan of videos showing elementary or middle school kids at school board meetings complaining about Critical Race Theory or BLM propaganda. It’s always so obvious that the kids got a lot of help from Mom and Dad. The kids may believe what they’re saying but it’s not their voice talking. That’s not the case with a nine-year-old girl from Lakeville, Minnesota, who gave school board members a verbal whipping for lying about political posters on school property. While it’s clear that her values come from her parents, the voice is her own.

Newsmax released an article this week that gives voice to further distrust of America’s once-premiere law enforcement agency. The column was based on a series of questions and concerns presented by Representative Matt Gaetz (R-FL) regarding the still murky details around the January 6th storming of the Capitol building. Two questions lobbed at the FBI are both haunting and disheartening: “What did the FBI know? And when did they know it?” The fact that the agency responsible for investigating the lawlessness of that date is itself under scrutiny is alarming.

Black Lives Matter is disintegrating into squabbling over money, even though it won’t frankly admit the base motivation behind the fights that have erupted and escalated yesterday. Democrats always project their own plans and values onto their enemies. So when Rep. Ilhan Omar tweeted, “it’s all about the Benjamins, baby” intending to allege that “Israel’s allies in American politics were motivated by money rather than principle,” she inadvertently exposed the real motivations of many of her major allies.

The National Football League (NFL) recently joined virtually every other American institution in lauding — and marketing to — the LGBT community during Pride Month in June. It did so by releasing a new 30-second commercial proudly proclaiming that "football is gay, lesbian, queer, transgender, bisexual and exciting." The ad begins by stating "football is gay" to the sound of drums rolling and people cheering. (I'm not sure what Dick Butkus would have to say about this advertisement, but I digress.) WASHINGTON — Two weeks after celebrating America’s near “independence” from the coronavirus, President Joe Biden is confronting the worrying reality of rising cases and deaths — and the limitations of his ability to combat the persistent vaccine hesitance responsible for the summer backslide. Cases of COVID-19 have tripled over the past three weeks, and hospitalizations and deaths are rising among unvaccinated people. While the rates are still sharply down from their January highs, officials are concerned by the reversing trendlines and what they consider needless illness and death. And cases are expected to continue to rise in coming weeks.

ROME — Pope Francis cracked down Friday on the spread of the old Latin Mass, reversing one of Pope Benedict XVI’s signature decisions in a major challenge to traditionalist Catholics who immediately decried it as an attack on the ancient liturgy. Francis reimposed restrictions on celebrating the Latin Mass that Benedict relaxed in 2007. The pontiff said he was taking action because Benedict’s reform had become a source of division in the church and been used as a tool by Catholics opposed to the Second Vatican Council, the 1960s meetings that modernized the liturgy. Francis issued a new law requiring individual bishops to approve celebrations of the old Mass
