The England players were tonight greeted with a cacophony of boos, whistles and cheers as they took the knee before kick-off in the quarter finals of Euro 2020.
Ukraine stayed on their feet as England continued with the Black Lives Matter gesture ahead of the quarter final clash at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome.
Some speculated online that the crowd could have been booing Ukraine for refusing to kneel, but boos have thundered from Three Lions fans at every game thus far, irrespective of whether or not the opposition has joined England in kneeling.
The disapproval for the gesture comes despite the repeated pleas of manager Gareth Southgate and the Football Association.

Country singer Aaron Lewis released a new single on Friday that he dedicated to "all the patriots."

[SNIP] "This one’s for all the patriots," Lewis tweeted on Friday to announce the single's release.
At one point in the four-and-a-half-minute song, Lewis rips Bruce Springsteen.

Students and other young people walking around the Georgetown area of Washington, D.C., struggled to say whether they were "proud" to be American ahead of 4th of July weekend.
Ophelie Jacobson, a reporter with Campus Reform — a conservative news site and higher-education watchdog — walked around Georgetown asking young people in the area whether they were proud to be American and whether the United States is the greatest country in the world.
"I feel sorry for those young students," Lily Tang Williams, an American citizen who immigrated from China, told "Fox & Friends" on Saturday in response to the video. "They remind me of my past, living in communist China."

Vice President Kamala Harris is facing White House sabotage as the establishment media lay out Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg’s path to the presidency.
With Harris’s history of “mistreatment of employees and dissent” before entering the White House, the establishment media have begun reporting on the infighting and “sabotage” impacting the office of the vice president.
“It’s a whisper campaign designed to sabotage her,” Biden’s senior adviser Cedric Richmond said, admitting Friday to the Hill the infighting is real.

An Ohio private school has expelled three students whose moms led a coalition campaigning against Critical Race Theory being taught to their children.
Columbus Academy sent a letter to parents Andrea Gross and Amy Gonzalez informing them that their children will not be reenrolled at the school, where tuition fees cost up to $30,000 a year.
The school said Gross and Gonzalez leveled 'false and misleading attacks' on the school and its leadership through their 'inflammatory' campaign, including making claims that students were being subjected to bomb sniffing dogs on campus.

Olympic hammer thrower Gwen Berry's history of offensive tweets has been uncovered after she snubbed the American national anthem during trials last weekend.
Berry, 32, made a variety of tasteless jokes and observations in messages dating back up to ten years, but which are still visible on her account.
The athlete - who insisted that the National Anthem is racist - posted tweets mocking about Chinese, Mexican and white people.
Posts also include ill-judged jokes about rape, suggestions she would stomp on a child, as well as using the word 'retarded', widely seen as being offensive and disrespectful.

On the Siksika Nation reserve, about 95 kilometres east of Calgary, there are two churches about 15 kilometres apart for the 8,000 residents, one Catholic, the other Anglican. In the dark early morning — one on Monday, the second on Tuesday — someone tried to burn them both down.

It looks like Molotov cocktails of some sort were used, smashing a window and burning the window frame, but failing to spread flames deep inside. “They were both intentionally set, no doubt about that,” said Tom Littlechild, director of emergency services for the Siksika Nation. “But both structures are very intact.”
The same cannot be said of some other churches.

Democrats are demanding that President Joe Biden pack the US Supreme Court with liberal justices after it upheld Republican-backed Arizona voting rules in its final decision of the 2020-2021 term.
Biden expressed his disappointment in the ruling on Thursday and called on Congress to restore fundamental voting rights. [SNIP]
'After all we have been through to deliver the promise of this nation to all Americans, we should be fully enforcing voting rights laws, not weakening them.'

NCAA athletes are wasting little time in capitalizing on new rules allowing them to profit off their name, image, and likeness (NIL), with some high-profile stars expecting to sign six-figure endorsement deals.
Payouts will vary 'client to client, deal to deal' sports attorney Darren Heitner told DailyMail.com, adding that contracts in excess of $100,000 are 'absolutely' expected before the fall sports season starts in late August.
And Heitner isn't guessing. He already represents Florida football player Donovan McMillon as well as twin sisters and Fresno State basketball stars Haley and Hanna Cavinder, who quickly leveraged their 3.3 million TikTok followers into new deals with Boost Mobile and SixStar ProNutrition.

Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot has blasted her critics as sexist and racist - just six weeks after she sparked fury by refusing to be interviewed by white journalists. [SNIP]
Phil Ponce, of WTTW, said, ‘In recent months, there have been questions raised about your temperament and your reaction to criticism – a (Chicago) Tribune editorial used the term irascible – how much of this do you think might have to do with the fact that you’re a woman and specifically a black woman?’
In response, Lightfoot said, ‘99 percent of it.’

First Lady Jill Biden — who is featured on the August cover of Vogue after the fashion magazine broke a decades-long tradition by snubbing former First Lady Melania Trump during her four years in the White House — says people can “breathe again,” now that former President Donald Trump is out of office. Mrs. Biden said President Joe Biden came in and “heal[ed] this nation.”
“During the campaign, I felt so much anxiety from people — they were scared,” Jill Biden told Vogue. “When I travel around the country now, I feel as though people can breathe again.”
“I think that’s part of the reason Joe was elected,” the first lady added.

Israel has once again reminded us that we should thank our lucky stars that the Jewish state is on our side. In the “What Have You Done For Us Lately” Department, Israel has just completed tests of its new high-power laser system that, installed on a civilian aircraft, can shoot down drones. It promises to be what is called a game-changer. The story of this remarkable advance is here: “Israel successfully downs targets using airborne laser system,” by Anna Ahronheim, Jerusalem Post, June 21, 2021: "The Defense Ministry has successfully carried out a series of interceptions to shoot down drones with a powerful airborne laser system."
