Laurel Hubbard is the beginning
of the end of Women's sports

When women’s professional soccer was deemed good enough for our TV screens a couple of years ago, I was watching with a friend and her four-year-old son. He was enthralled by the game, and asked his mother, ‘Are boys allowed to play football as well as girls, mummy?’ This little boy’s comment clearly highlighted the insidious sexism prevalent in all aspects of competitive sport. When it comes to soccer, rugby, weightlifting, darts, you name it, commentating, sports writing, sports photography and so many other operational aspects of competitive sports are dominated by men.

Comments:

Absent an injury that keeps him/her out of the Olympics, it is a safe bet that he/she will win the gold medal.

If the kid doesn't know boys play competitive sports, then the coverage of men's sports can't be too dominating. Maybe his mother is keeping it a secret from him, so he doesn't exhibit those awful male traits like being competitive.

Wonder how they will feel when a Trans wants to play on the women's golf team? This is just the beginning of the end of women's sports. Shame on women like Michelle and Hillary and Dr. Jill and Chelsea who have something to say about everything are not saying a word.

When I was young - a boy who wanted to play on girls' teams was seen as a looser, a sissy, a softy, a weakling, and a cry-baby who could not (or could but would not) compete on boys' teams. It was shameful.

I don’t follow the logic that trans women will ruin women’s sports. The idea that post-pubescent males or even pre-pubescent males can undergo surgery and then be deemed females is so silly, so risible, so barbaric that it will not stand the test of time. The very rare instances of males going through all of that and then competing as females will fade due to universal recognition of the innate unfairness of such a thing and the repulsive psychological problems of those involved. Also, two things: 1.) note to Laurel: now that you think you’re a chick at least shave your pits and 2.) note to Spectator: disagreeing with a concept is spelled “dissent” rather than “descent.”

Since the leftist women don’t seem to care then I see no reason for me to care. My girls are grown and beyond athletics now so if women’s sports disappear let them suffer the consequences. Some dude in a short skirt is going to show up on the LPGA one day and take all their prize money.

#9 - Yes, to sensible people this seems nuts! However it is happening right under our noses. Yes, men take estrogen and are even have their testicles removed & demand to play & are allowed to play in women's sports. There are likely hundreds of them now. The way has been paved by activists for decades. And now in Canada the males don't even have to have any surgery - just affirm that they are female - and they are allowed to play on girls' teams. Watch the Benjamin Boyce interviews with Canadian Coach Linda Blade & Minnesota's amateur weight lifter Beth Stelzer. It will open your eyes. Our young girl's who are competing in Track & Field are getting so discouraged - the high schools are allowing the 'trans' boys to run - they are beating the girls - naturally. Our girls will not even go the the meets now. They know they are going to lose.

It won't be long that all athletic competition becomes open competition, and it won't break my heart. Women have been breaking up the various "boys clubs" for decades...and soon it will be their turn. They have been championing the LGBT-whatever community and cause - and now this "gender free" nonsense is coming home to roost. Bobby Riggs is laughing in his grave, while Billie Jean King will be spinning in hers.

He should be shunned and berated everywhere he goes while in Japan, especially when he is competing. “Cheater! Cheater!” from the crowd should distract him enough that he might drop the weights.

#11, perhaps you are right. However, women should refuse to compete against trans athletes and insist upon competing only among people with xx chromosomes. As it is, women are essentially being forced to countenance and compete in the midst of cheating. They must (and I believe will) refuse and true fans of women’s sports must and will also make their displeasure with corruption evident.

DENVER  — As the delta variant continues to spread throughout the country, the World Health Organization is asking vaccinated people to still wear masks to stop the spread of COVID-19. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommendations, however have not changed, allowing fully vaccinated people to go without a mask. In Denver-area hospitals, doctors tell FOX31 at least half of the unvaccinated COVID-19 patients are sick with the delta variant. The variant is significantly more contagious, and the symptoms patients feel are worse than from the original COVID-19 virus. Doctors continue to stress the message, that it’s the vaccines that will ultimately stop the spread. CORRECTION*

DENVER — He is a Colorado Rockies fan, so here is a baseball analogy. Gov. Jared Polis (D) is 4-for-4. All four of the winners of the $1 million vaccination incentive contest received their vaccines prior to the contest, which was meant to encourage unvaccinated Coloradans to get vaccinated. "The vast majority got vaccinated because they wanted to be protected, they wanted to be safe. I wouldn't be shocked if all of the winners aren't from that broader category. This is designed to get a few percent more," said Polis. "You know to be at 70 [percent] on July 4 instead of 67 percent."

The Democratic Party has had a problem. It’s a small, incoherent, and privileged clique funded by billionaire oligarchs to push policies that even mainstream Democratic voters oppose. How to bridge the gap? The solution they chose, which party officials made clear this week, was simple: the way third-world elites always do—by using street violence to keep their clients in line. This week, pro-Palestinian demonstrators auditioned for the chance to join already established Democratic Party militias antifa and Black Lives Matter by attacking Jews in New York and Los Angeles.

Every human organization has social trust. The belief in the honesty, integrity, and reliability of others is what makes human organization possible. There is the vertical trust between layers within the social hierarchy and there is horizontal trust between members within a segment of society. Social trust is the mortar that holds the blocks of a human society together, but also the grease that keeps the wheels turning. In large-scale human societies, social trust is embodied in the institutions, which are the superstructure of society.
