We knew it was coming. This afternoon, as expected, we had a 50-50 vote which means Republicans have filibustered the Democrats’ voting rights bill. Here’s the video: The NY Times says all eyes now turn to nuking the filibuster:
Senate Republicans on Tuesday blocked the most ambitious voting rights legislation to come before Congress in a generation, using the filibuster to deal a blow to a bid by President Biden and Democrats to counter a wave of state-level ballot restrictions and fueling a political battle that promises to shape the 2022 elections.

These "seething" prog-apes can make all the demands they want... I for one demand that they start supporting and defending my Constitution! If not, I think they have two options: 1. Get the h-ll out now, or 2. Feel the wrath of the scorned American people when the whirlwind comes to clean house.

Whenever they try to sell anything as "reform," you know it's bad.

Any Republican who votes for those Democrat bills would be committing political suicide for himself or herself, and the Republican Party that would never have a chance to win future elections. Those bills only help Democrat election chances and sink Republican chances. You have to realize those facts, as the Democrats would never propose an election bill and nuke the filibuster if they ever thought that those actions would help the Republican Party to win future elections. I thought that there is a provision in the US Constitution giving authority to the 50 State legislatures to make the election laws for their States, if so, the proposed Democrat bill taking that authority away from the States and federalizing what the election laws will be would seem to be unconstitutional? Not even the mighty Democrats can change provisions written in the US Constitution by passing a law in Congress, they need a constitutional amendment to get that job done. Good luck getting the Republican States to agree with that.

Democrats would rather have a "talking point" over solving "real" problems which is why America voted for Trump in 2016 & 2020....
TRUMP WON!

The Commiecrats version of 'reform' is akin to the way Viktor Frankenstein 'reformed' the executed criminal.

Manchin screwed up big time. Since the dems were going to lose anyway, he could have voted with the Constitution and preserved what is left of his image. Instead he revealed the snake under the pretty feathers. Sorry you were stupid, Joe.

Those that are upset with Manchin don't understand the situation here. This vote was irrelevant, as long as the filibuster is preserved, so Manchin could do whatever he thinks is good for his idea of the 'behind the scenes politics' in DC, and it DOES NO HARM.
The only vote that Manchin casts (along with Sen. Sinema) that really matter are their votes on the filibuster rule. THAT makes a huge difference. As long as both continue to support keeping the filibuster, their votes on bills which will fail are unimportant, and they shouldn't be criticized for doing whatever they think is most useful to them, because the bill will definitely fail - with or without their vote - as long as the filibuster is preserved and 10 Repubs don't defect and vote for the bill.

Either you surrender, give them the country to burn it down, or they would burn it down demanding you do that.
Never negotiate with marxists. They are domestic terrorists.
