Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) caved under pressure from Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) Tuesday, agreeing to vote to advance the federal takeover of elections legislation. The deal entailed Manchin being the 50th Democrat vote to advance the “For the People Act,” which still must survive a Republican filibuster during a procedural hurdle, is an exchange for a vote on Manchin’s alterations to the legislation if Republicans cave and support debating the legislation.“Today I will vote ‘YES’ to move to debate this updated voting legislation as a substitute amendment to ensure every eligible voter is able to cast their ballot and participate in our great democracy,” he explained, adding:

D'ya think they've considered that the Constitution, "you know tight thing" gives the states the power to control the elections in their respective states. This bill would never pass muster in any honorable court; given the nature of the Robert's Court, who the hell knows?

Manchin agreed to vote for something he disagrees with in order to get a vote on his alternate bill as an amendment to the bad bill? Manchin's bill is also bad as Stacy Abrams had a hand in it. Manchin sold his soul to try to look reasonable. Instead, he just looks like any other Democrat hack sellout.

Manchin sold his soul long ago,#8. There is no dissent in the democrat party, You do as you are told. This was mere theater to lull the Republicans in believing they had this vote. Thankfully, they stood together but this is not over. In one way or another this lawless democrat party will continue to run the elections in their states. Think this is hyperbole? During the dovid lockdown, democrats were illegally changing voter laws right and left and Republican legislatures were apparently asleep at the wheel. Democrats have no conscience and Republicans have no courage. What a mess they have gotten us into.

Everything in DC is about making deals. Sometimes it's OK, but often it's dirty. Donors and lobbyists walk around with lots of money to give politicians, This includes Soros-types and big tech. If you're interested in a wad of cash or a favor, these people like you. And they view you as a target. And if you have an ambitious wife, you're more of a target. Politicians should be moral and be looking out for our country and it's people. Such is not the case in a lot of instances.

Not the least bit surprising when you find out that Woman-chin's wife, Gayle, was appointed by Biden to Co-chair the Appalachian Regional Commission. (Never had a co-chair before!) Between her 6 figure salary ($160,000 a year) and the stuffed kick-back envelopes from the developers/construction industry from the 13 states under the ARC's authority that can earn a lot of points and give UpChuck some leverage. What's truly amazing, though, is that all 50 Republicans stayed on the reservation ... for now.

It's a moot point though, right? Schumer was betting on Republicans caving -- 10 of them to be exact -- to allow the bill to move forward. However, the Republicans didn't cave, which means, they can't move the bill forward -- can't overcome the 60 vote filibuster rule.

This is not a top-down, bureaucracy controlled, operation. It was designed by our inspired founders to be just the opposite of what these usurpers are attempting to perpetrate. This will not happen and our Nation will survive as our Founders wisely set it up. The evil usurpers will ultimately get what they deserve...It's coming!

Unless the slimy Dems can get 2/3 of the votes in both Houses, this bill is going nowhere. Elections are controlled by the state legislatures, as clearly and plainly stated in the US Constitution as well as that of all of the states. Amendments to the Constitution require 2/3 approval of both Houses....which the Dems don't have. Never fear, though. Chief Justice Roberts will somehow decide nobody has legal standing to challenge this unconstitutional bill, or will somehow parse the meaning of the word "amendment" and will allow this unlawful law to stand.

This is a TOTALLY deceptive article. The vote for the bill was irrelevant, and anyone who understands Senate rules knows it. With the filibuster in place, the Dems can't pass anything that can't get substantial Republican support. This vote means NOTHING important about Machin. The vote that actually means something is the vote to keep or eliminate the filibuster. There Manchin has supported the filibuster, along with Sen. Sinema, meaning that the filibuster stays. THAT vote is where Manchin needs to stay strong. In this vote --- with the filibuster in place, it means nothing and Manchin can vote for the bill knowing that it won't (can't) pass because it won't get the 60 votes required by the filibuster rule. This is either DM's ignorance of the politics, or more likely, an intentional hit piece against Manchin because he won't support removal of the filibuster.

The only problem is WE don't do anything anymore to ACT and preserve our Republic!! We SHOULD all be petitioning (make that BOMBARDING) all of our representatives (regardless of party affiliation) demanding the defeat of this horrible and completely UNCONSTITUTIONAL bill. We should also be sending letters, editorials, making blogs and blogs and doing everything humanly possible to ensure the integrity and sanctity of our elections. The DemonRats will stop at nothing to obtain and maintain a steel grip on power and this phony piece of legislation would allow them to cheat and steal, in perpetuity, on every election going forward. It is OUR job to stop them. If not, our complacency, laziness, and fear will enslave us to those who will control every aspect of our lives. They are already destroying our social order and now they are breaking our financial system in order to take over economically. Do we want to give them free rein over everything? I don't have a problem with this. The outcome was a foregone conclusion. It was going to be defeated. So there was nothing for him to gain by crossing his Demon-Rat masters and voting with the Republicans. As long as he stays strong if we ever have a vote on ending the filibuster!!!! But in something like this, where there is nothing for him to gain by going against his party, he has to play the game. However, hopefully the good people of West Virginia will wake up and remember that he is a Demon-Rat, and will replace him with a Republican that will actually represent them in the next election!!!

For decades, conservatives have sought to regain lost culture-war ground through judicial nominations, with GOP voters consistently rating the Supreme Court a higher priority than do Democrats. As the latest high-court term winds down — one featuring a putative 6-3 “conservative” majority — it’s worth taking stock of where that project stands. The answer: not in a great place. Consider two of this term’s highest-profile cases: California v. Texas (on ObamaCare) and the Fulton v. City of Philadelphia (on religious liberty). In California, a 7-2 majority of Supremes again left former President Barack Obama’s signature domestic policy untouched. The court declined to reach the substantive issue — the constitutionality

Maybe.A long-awaited US government report on UFO sightings released Friday was largely inconclusive, describing the more than 140 strange objects seen by military personnel across the nation as a threat to flight safety and possibly national security, but adding that there was no “single explanation” for their appearance. The nine-page public report from the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) said the lack of “high-quality reporting … hampers our ability to draw firm conclusions about the nature or intent” of the unidentified objects,

Former Vice President Mike Pence was proud to certify the presidential election results on Jan. 6 after a deadly riot at the US Capitol, he said in his most direct and pointed departure from former President Donald Trump.Speaking to a crowd at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library on Thursday, Pence said it was his duty under the Constitution to certify the results, and while he made no direct mention of his former boss, he appeared to distance himself from Trump, who still disputes the results of the Electoral College tally. 'I will always be proud that we did our part on that tragic day

A Democratic congressman from California suggested that the Catholic Church ought to lose its tax-exempt status if the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) decides to follow Church law and deny Communion to pro-abortion politicians like President Joe Biden. In a June 18 tweet, Rep. Jared Huffman (D-CA) said, “If they’re going to politically weaponize religion by ‘rebuking’ Democrats who support women’s reproductive choice, then a ‘rebuke’ of their tax-exempt status may be in order.” Huffman, who serves on a variety of caucuses — including the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) Equality Caucus and the

Team USA's inclusion of white forward Kevin Love on the Olympic roster is an example of 'tokenism,' according to retired NBA star Jalen Rose, who says black Phoenix Suns center Deandre Ayton would make a better choice even though he's from the Bahamas. 'Kevin Love is on the team because of tokenism,' Rose, now an ESPN commentator, said on his podcast. 'Don't be scared to make an all-black team representing the United States of America. I'm disappointed by that. Anybody that watched the league this year knows Kevin Love did not have a stellar season."

Nancy Pelosi spoke today about “the root causes” of the January 6 Capitol riot: “the white supremacy, the anti-Semitism, the Islamophobia, all the rest of it that was so evident when you see a sweatshirt on one of the people saying, ‘Camp Auschwitz.’” She repeated the common and yet completely unsubstantiated claim that the Capitol incident constituted an “insurrection,” and once again claimed that Trump “incited” the “insurrection,” in flagrant disregard for the fact that Trump told the demonstrators to remain peaceful. Her list of the three “root causes” of this sham “insurrection” were, in effect, a list of those that she and the Biden Justice Department intend

A Federal Aviation Administration advisory group is urging the agency to replace words like “airman” and “cockpit” with gender-neutral terms like “aviator” and “flight deck.” The FAA’s Drone Advisory Committee put forth the recommendations in a report released Wednesday, part of a broader push for equity in the agency and aviation industry. “Research shows that the utilization of gender-neutral language can lead to a more inclusive environment that draws more people to the industry and helps keep them there,” the report states. The committee offered several alternatives for terms commonly used in the industry, such as using “manufactured” or “fabricated” instead of “man-made.”

As the Marxist revolution oozes forward, I occasionally wonder what will happen to the useful idiots when the commies seize absolute power in this once great Republic. I believe that most AT readers are familiar with the term, but for those who need a brief refresher, a useful idiot, as defined by Wikipedia, "is a derogatory term for a person perceived as propagandizing for a cause without fully comprehending the cause's goals, and who is cynically used by the cause's leaders." In my opinion, this definition can be applied to a majority of the young, brainwashed radicals who have no idea about the true history of Marxism
