Vice President Kamala Harris has finally announced her intentions to visit the US-Mexico border after former President Trump made his plans to tour the border with Texas Governor Greg Abbott. Harris will be in El Paso, Texas, on Friday, June 25. She will be attended by Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas, according to Politico.
While countless media outlets and 56 GOP lawmakers have chastised Harris for not going to the border, despite being tasked with dealing with the border and immigration crisis by her boss President Joe Biden, it appears to have taken Trump's announcement to light a fire until the VP.

The trust people in the United States have in the media is the lowest in the free world and is likely driving more and more away from traditional news sources, according to a blockbuster study of international media consumption. Of 29 free nations surveyed in the Digital News Report 2021, U.S. “trust” in the media ranked 46th of 46. And cable TV is the worst, according to the report from Oxford University and the Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism. The 164-page report said, “Cable news channels Fox News, CNN, and MSNBC have some of the highest levels of distrust.”

Vice President Kamala Harris' was tasked by President Biden with dealing with the crisis at the US-Mexico border, but now she's distancing herself from that crisis she cannot solve. Harris' team explained that Harris isn't supposed to be dealing with the border, that this was never her job. Instead, she's meant to handle the "root causes" of migration. For Harris, those include climate change and violence against LGBTQ people. [snip] Harris has come under critique for refusing to set a time to visit the southern border. Now it seems she has no plans to go at all because she doesn't think it's relevant to her job.

Fox News and Fox & Friends Weekend co-host Jedediah Bila are parting ways, PEOPLE can exclusively announce. [snip] On Fox & Friends Weekend, the conservative TV personality was frequently critical of former President Donald Trump. When Trump publicly called out Fox News Sunday anchor Chris Wallace, Bila defended her colleague on Twitter. "Enough with the 3rd grade name-calling," she wrote last April. "Chris is doing his job. The news should not be any president's friend, ally, or buddy. If it bothered you when Obama complained about Fox News, but you're silent on this complete nonsense, then just stop. Seriously. Enough."

Vice President Kamala Harris keeps assets in a tax-advantaged family trust, a move that appears to violate an ethics pledge she and President Biden made on the campaign trail. The trust's assets "are not reportable," according to the filing, effectively obscuring some of the vice president's holdings from public view. [snip] Biden and Harris pledged to work with Congress to "eliminate the trust loophole in existing financial disclosure law," and Biden said he would "require that any member of his Administration who is a beneficiary of a discretionary trust disclose all of its holdings."

The FBI quietly admitted Friday that the 2017 Alexandria, Virginia, baseball field shooting that nearly killed Rep. Steve Scalise has been classified as “domestic terrorism” carried out by a “domestic violent extremist” targeting Republicans after the bureau previously classified it as “suicide by cop." The revelation appears in the middle of an appendix on page 35 of a 40-page FBI-DHS report released on Friday titled “Security Strategic Intelligence Assessment and Data on Domestic Terrorism.”

Ghislaine Maxwell’s trial is set for November, as the former socialite faces charges she recruited teenage girls for her pal Jeffrey Epstein. US District Judge Alison Nathan said in Manhattan on Tuesday that she’d aim to start the trial on Nov. 29, just after Thanksgiving. The date is subject to courtroom availability and COVID-19 protocols. The trial was originally slated for July, but Nathan agreed this month to postpone its start after prosecutors hit the 59-year-old Maxwell with two new sex-trafficking charges.
