Newark Mayor Ras Baraka on Wednesday is set to unveil a statue of George Floyd that officials say will be displayed outside City Hall for at least a year. “The artwork honors the life of George Floyd, an African-American man who was brutally murdered by a white Minneapolis police officer,” the mayor’s office said in a statement. “Mr. Floyd’s death elevated the ‘Black Lives Matter’ movement which has resulted in an international response, including protests, police reform measures, and the removal of Confederate statues from public parks and racist names from organizations.”(Snip) The ceremony will also honor Juneteenth, which is Saturday and marks June 19,

At least this statue was donated, so it won't be wasting taxpayer money!!! But this is lie-beral "logic" -- tear down statues of good men because they offend someone based on today's standards, but put up a statue of a criminal drug addict.

Does the statue depict him doing a speedball? Mr. Floyd's life is a cautionary tale of a life broken from drug use. His sad demise is a cautionary tale of how human suffering in the black community has been encouraged then leveraged in an attempted race war to facilitate communist revolution in the United States. How do you convery that in a statue?

They tear ALL of the Statues that the BLM have managed to get up. I don't care if they're unhappy about it! Next thing, throw out all of the Attorney Generals, then put someone in there who will Round up the Criminal BLM people and prosecute them and throw them in Jail for a long time. I went to college in Newark in the '60s. At the time, NCE was a white donut in a sea of black. Central High School was in the center of the campus, and the rest of the neighborhood around the school was ghetto. After night classes, two or three males would walk each female classmate or instructor to their car. We did have several robberies of students each year. I remember walking into class on the third floor after summer break, and at the top of the window was a bullet hole. A wild shot from the police shootout with a SBT (sacred black thug). Newark has only gone downhill from then!

California is adopting former Donald Trump's plan to thin out the state's 33 million acres of forests with controlled burns and raking the woodland floor —after state officials essentially laughed off the former president's idea a few years ago. Trump had suggested in 2018 that the Golden State start sweeping its forest floors of debris that often aids in the spread of wildfires. But by Aug. 2020, at the peak of the state's wildfire season, his suggestion became an ultimatum when he withheld wildfire financial aid on the basis of California's failure to clear its forests of dead trees, branches and leaves, Politico reported at the time.
