Alexis Mirra has been learning how to sew the past few weeks, and even bought a thimble. It’s not a hobby, it’s a necessity to affix new patches on the uniforms of fellow police officers in Hopewell Township. The patches feature the colors from the Pride flag, the symbol of the LGBTQ community, and officers are voluntarily wearing them for the remainder of June, for Pride Month. The patches were Mirra’s idea and now project, and the detective believes a first in the Garden State.(Snip) About half the department is wearing the patches, which goes beyond their personal choice. “It shows support for the LGBTQ community

I wonder what would happen to an officer who wore a "Straight Pride" patch. Or even a 'Blue Pride' patch

I'll bet that department would have a canniption fit if any of their officers wanted to wear a Thin Blue Line pin, or an American flag pin.

Why does anyone feel the need to advertise their sexuality? I am straight. I don't get up everyday singing and dancing and putting on my "straight pride ribbon, or jewelry or t-shirt". I think more people would ignore their choices if they didn't parade in tutus with ribbons and rhinestones adorning their crotch while they blow glitter at the crowd and pretend to have sex with the guy standing next to them. Seriously. They constantly tell us they are no different from other couples and families. If that is the case then live that lifestyle. Give up the perverted gay parades that truly make you look like people most of us want to ignore.

What happens if an officer refuses to put this piece of garbage on his uniform.?

Is there some perverse need to scream your sexual preference for all to hear? I don't recall normal people (straight, non-deviants) having a pathological need to announce day and night they prefer the opposite sex.
I don't personally care what you choose to do in private. When you cross over to public displays and demands for protected class status, expect resistance to this BS.

Why is it so important for gay activists/social justice warrior to rub peoples faces (figuratively for the most part) in their sexuality? I don’t care if you’re gay. It’s not my business and not my concern. I don’t spend my days wondering about anyone’s sexuality.
It doesn’t help anyone’s cause, and all it is normalizing is the stereotypes everyone objects too in the first place.

Everybody wants to be “special”...
At some point in life a person is expected to become an adult and act like it.

An American flag patch, and all it stands for, will simply not do! I definitely think our cops should have patches on their uniforms, many patches — one for gays, one for straights, one for Asians, one for Hispanics, one for blacks, one for whites, one for Catholics, one for Protestants, one for Jews, one for Muslims, one for agnostics, one for SEC fans (c’mon now, no other conference deserves a patch) — how cool: they’ll look like professional golfers or NASCAR drivers! /sarc

I long for the days when a person's sexuality was their own, personal business.

Duet sung by those officers:
I see by your outfit that you support perverts
I see by your outfit that you support them, too.
We see by our outfits that we support perverts.
If you get an outfit you can be a pervert, too.

Mainstream American culture is now completely homosexual, either in fact or in socially forced "allyship." Meanwhile, anyone who wanted to recognize and celebrate the heterosexual family structure that built this nation would be pilloried in the town square by the tolerant deviants, and half the population would cheer.
