Jack Phillips to appeal Colorado judge's
decision over gender transition cake

Original Article

The conservative group representing Colorado baker Jack Phillips vowed to appeal after a judge sided with the plaintiff, a transgender woman, on Tuesday following Phillips' refusal to make a cake celebrating a gender transition. "In this case, an activist attorney demanded Jack create custom cakes in order to ‘test’ Jack and ‘correct the errors’ of his thinking, and the activist even threatened to sue Jack again if the case is dismissed for any reason," Alliance Defending Freedom General Counsel Kristen Waggoner said in a statement. "Radical activists and government officials are targeting artists like Jack because they won’t promote messages on marriage and sexuality that violate their core convictions."

May God bless this baker and his employees who, through persecution, continue to hold fast to their principles to obey God and not man. Praying for all Christians to stay strong in the Lord, for this is only the beginning. Satan is running around like a roaring lion and we can see happening right before our eyes.

There is a great need to make the filing of such egregious cases irredeemably uncomfortable for the Attorneys who file such. That is the only way to stop the persecution...The feds would never help it's up to us! Pitchforks and especially torches!

I work in a medical facility. If a transgender being came in, we would treat that person without regard for their beliefs. I don’t get why the Baker can’t make the dang cake. It doesn’t mean the Baker agrees with the event to bake a cake.

Go ahead, bake the cake. Make it all pretty and nice on the outside like they want. Just make the actual cake part blue so when they cut into the fancy , pretty cake, they see the blue and are reminded that under all fancy frosting she/he is still a man on the inside. The baker can claim he was using the artistic license that made them want to use him so badly.

We NEED 'loser pays' laws. Many of these harrassment suits would never get filed and even here where our baker will certainly prevail on appeal the cost of litigation would probably bankrupt the pervert (and lawyer) who filed this.

I blame the Supreme Joke of the United States. Once the Supreme Joke Just-Uses learned they could create laws with a mere 5 people it was all over. No legislature and the Constitution means what 5, just 5 people in this country believe. The Supreme Joke has done this for decades bringing with Wickard v. Filburn in '42. If we want to stop weaponizing the courts, we need a Convention of States to amend the Constitution limiting the power of the courts.

You may just say, "bake the cake" the problem with that line of thinking is not only his religious beliefs but the cross dresser just won and the baker's reputation will spiral down. As an artist I have destroyed my own work in the fireplace that I did not deem good enough to release to the public. The baker has his name to uphold all political statements aside don't let the tranny win this one. For both parties, the tranny included, nobody wins.

#4 - It's already been ruled that you cannot force a business to create a custom piece of work with which it does not agree. Phillips cannot refuse to sell him something off the shelf but cannot be forced to create a themed cake with which he does not agree. No different than forcing an artist to paint you in the nude.

At this point SCOTUS has to know--and should have known already--that the Left will continue to torment Jack Phillips until the Court makes it clear that business owners have a First Amendment right not to actively help "celebrate" the LGTBQ (or any other) political agenda. Another "narrowly tailored" decision will not end the Left's determination to make Jack a warning to all other business owners that they, too, must surrender their services and talents to leftist causes. The Court should ask, must a company that make flags be required to make Nazi flags? Must a garment manufacturer have to make hooded robes for the Klan? Is there not enough competition in the marketplace to easily find a business willing to do both without requiring a business owner the freedom to decline on moral principles?

Yes #5, a penis and testicle cake would be appropriate. Then they could cut them off to signify the removal of manhood to female. However, the baker should not be forced to make even the most beautiful ever cake if it goes against the bakers truly held beliefs. Why don't these activists ever go to a Muslim baker and demand that they bake a Bar-Mitzvah cake or a Bris cake? Wonder how that would go over?

This issue has been lurking in the background for months. Where I live, there are almost no homes on the market for rent. The inventory of the number of homes for sale is at record lows, and when combined with historically low home mortgage rates, the prices at which homes are selling have gone through the roof. There are no homes for rent because landlords have been unable to evict tenants for non-payment of rent for a year or more, depending on where you live. The federal government — based on dubious legal authority — imposed an eviction “moratorium” during the pandemic.

The U.S. Education Department on Wednesday expanded its interpretation of federal sex protections to include transgender and gay students, a move that reverses Trump-era policy and stands against proposals in many states to bar transgender girls from school sports. In a new policy directive, the department said discrimination based on a student’s sexual orientation or gender identity will be treated as a violation of Title IX, the 1972 federal law that protects against sex discrimination in education. The decision is based on last year’s landmark Supreme Court ruling protecting gay, lesbian and transgender people from discrimination in employment, according to agency officials.

The shift aims to reduce the 64 million tons of carbon dioxide that is emitted each year from producing and the consumption of meat-based products.
