A black GOP lawmaker in the House of Representatives says the Congressional Black Caucus has declined his efforts to become a member. In a statement to The Post on Thursday, Rep. Byron Donalds (R-Fla.) expressed his disappointment about being excluded from the CBC, which inducted other freshman lawmakers into the group six months ago.“The Congressional Black Caucus has a stated commitment to ensuring Black Americans have the opportunity to achieve the American Dream,” the 42-year-old lawmaker, who represents the Naples area, began.“As a newly elected Black Member of Congress, my political party should not exempt me from a seat at the table dedicated to achieving this goal.

You are going to have to curb yo' uppity ways, and get back on the plantation before Massa Black Caucus will accept you.

Now, what could the democrats be afraid of by letting this Republican into the group?
Another opinion they may agree with?
Someone who wants to actually improve the lives of his constituents?
Is the CBC a private group with an invite-only membership?
Are they afraid of a diversity of ideas and approaches to the issues?

I’m more perplexed why a conservative Republican would WANT (need?) to join their club.

The CBC should be OUTLAWED. These individuals are elected by voters to work on their behalf, not to be a select group of White hating, America hating, Republican hating racists, which is exactly what they are. Congress-people should have NO RIGHT to have a BLACK only, Democrat only so-called group. It borders on a cult. Someone needs to should file a lawsuit to break up this group. The ostracized Congressman can do so.

Why would he want to join a racist organization? I suspect he really doesn't want to join but wanted to show them to be the anti-American group that they are.

They aren't a black caucus. They are a Communist black caucus. The good representative from Florida would be wise to not associate with them. They have an agenda, and he would not want any part of it.

A CBC spokesperson?
From an article dated December 3, 2020 -
"Rep. Joyce Beatty (D-Ohio) on Thursday was elected the next chair of the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) — a position she called an “honor of a lifetime.”"

The article comments that there have been Republican members of the Congressional Black Caucus in the past, what it does not mention is that they were only admitted AFTER a public fuss was made about their exclusion.
AS for why Rep. Donalds wants to be a member, I would bet it is so that he can eliminate articles which claim that since the CBC unanimously takes a position that is the position of all Blacks of any significance take.

The CBC is racist. They use racism to extract money from stupid, or deranged, people. They should not get a dime of taxpayer money for CBC matters, and should be shunned.

he's probably too intelligent for them, after all their esteemed members like jim clyburn and hank (Guam will tip over and sink into the ocean) johnson have dibs on the best seats in the CBC for their great achievements while collecting congressional pay and looking like they're doing something.
