COVID shutdowns championed by U.S. governors and D.C. bureaucrats are responsible for destroying nearly 40% of small businesses since the virus was unleashed on the world—and we know now that it was for little to no damned good reason. A study by the Proceedings of the National Academies of Sciences revealed recently that shutdown orders made little to no difference in COVID’s impact. From the abstract of the study:
“Previous studies have claimed that shelter-in-place orders saved thousands of lives, but we reassess these analyses and show that they are not reliable. We find that shelter-in-place orders had no detectable health benefits, only modest effects on behavior,

The communists want to destroy the middle class.

The numbers are being hidden here in Illinois. Our governor says 20% of restaurants - I suspect based upon limited observation that those numbers alone are much higher, and that is just one sector.
#1 - The communists HAVE destroyed the middle class. This has been under way since at least the 70s, was put on hiatus under Reagan, and then restarted as soon as Daddy Bouche took over. Once Black Jeebus took over, the efforts went back into overdrive. Trump put the brakes on for one term, and now Xiden is going to finish what Bathhouse Barry couldn't.
You cannot obtain the New World Order with a vibrant US middle class. It therefore must be destroyed completely. Property ownership will not be allowed. All good comrades must share a small portion of the resources while the elite get most of them.

The massive governmental over-reaction to Covid 19 cost so many businesses, and so many jobs, to be lost.
So now watch as Demon-Rats try to pile on the misery by raising the minimum wage. With so many restaurants and other tight-margin types of businesses barely holding on, that should be the death knoll for so many more of them!!!!!

They never let a crisis go to waste. Of course, it doesn't matter that they create every crisis. In this case, the politicians got power, the drug companies got a massive infusion of our money, and the giant corporations managed to put all their small competition out of business. Every time there is a crisis the cure is always much worse than the disease. Leftists, big government, and giant corporations are the disease.

If you don’t understand that this government is our enemy you are not paying attention. We are so far away from what the Founders envisioned that if they were suddenly popped down inside this country and there was no indication of where they were, they would never guess it was their beloved United States of America. They would be impressed with the advancement of technology, but they would be appalled by government overreach. We won’t even go into the culture shock they would receive, but their hearts would be broken to see their great American experiment destroyed by a rancid and corrupt political class aided and abetted by their allies in business, academia, entertainment and of course, the media. I believe what would disturb them most would be the American people’s complacency. They would loathe that we did not keep the government in check and insist upon accountability for the massive behemoth that now strangles the very life out of freedom. Looking at us through their eyes, we would be considered to be lazy and foolish. Clearly, Mr. Franklin was right. They have given us a Republic, if we can keep it and right now due to complacency and the absolute corruption of moral values in this country, we are just about to lose it. John Adams hit the nail on the head as far as what it would take to ensure its survival. “Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.”
This is why destroying small businesses and our entrepreneurial spirit is such a target for the left. It breaks down independence and everything the Founders held dear.

Actions taken to deal with Kung Flu happened at a time when people expanded their use of the internet for on line purchases. It was, in a sense, a perfect storm of sorts.
Now, as Dementia Jo's handlers drive up the cost of gasoline, even more people will avoid in person shopping.
And as tax revenues from gasoline fall, and States consider mileage tax to replace gas tax revenue, even more people will stay home.

I wish we could have some old-fashioned Billy Graham revivals going on throughout our country for the next few years, and, in fact, have revivals in all our faiths. We need to become more aware of God's power so we don't feel so defeated. Of course, now you'd have to have a lot of security so no BLM or Antifa groups could make trouble. I attended a Billy Graham revival in the 80's in Connecticut, and it never occurred to us that troublemakers would be present. Too many new givens - like the loss of all these small businesses which helped so many families thrive and contributed so much to our economy. The techno-gods and the masters of the universe want us to feel defeated so we can be defeated.

Businesses destroyed and lives destroyed. The financial toll on the business owners is also catastrophic. They not only their businesses, which they must still pay off their debt. But the loss of their business also meant great personal losses, financially and personally. Years of hard work destroyed for no reason. This doesn't include all of the now former employees effected and other businesses who lost part of their business customers due to the closures.

Take someone or a family who has sunk their entire life into a business, and force them to shut it down for MONTHS, and you have ruined that families entire life. They can never catch back up, everything they had was invested and they were already living hand to mouth.
THAT was what the dim-0 party substituted as a "campaign" for quid pro joe.

How many Marxist Communist democrats said the following.
We don't need any small businesses who cannot pay a $15.00 per hour minimum wage in our community's.
Isn't that about 89% of all small businesses in those community's.

They had a reason. Marxists always have a reason. Less small businesses means less freedom. Marxist hate us and our freedom. It was a all a scam. We are in a battle. Be wary and fight back any way you can. It is almost impossible to remove a police state once it's in place, and that is where we are headed.

Nobody expected small businesses to survive a one year shutdown and it turned out to be completely unnecessary in the face of a little chest cold. Democrats are both stupid and evil. The people who are surprised are those who can not think, like the government and the media.

Count mine in as one of them. I was sole proprietor of a business for almost 20 years and was due to retire at the end of 2020. Last year would have been my busiest year ever and my travel schedule was jam-packed but the insane response to what is basically a cold, destroyed it all by March first.

I recently saw an article listing restaurants that you and I are familiar with, and have been for years, that were just hanging on by a thread. Locally, our Burger King, which had been the only fast food open for eating inside, had to close to inside eating because they can't find employees. I always went to Hardees for breakfast when I had to go to the next little town. They are still drive thru, can't find people to hire to open the restaurant. Planned by the government. Pay people more to stay home than to go to work.

Here in Austin during the height of the pandemic, it was reported 1,500 small businesses had closed. No doubt the number was even greater. My favorite breakfast taco cafe where you used to stand in line and wait for a place to sit is gone! Sad because the data is coming out where those sheep that were masked and locked down didn’t affect the cases. Fauci, big Pharma and the corporate media is to blame. Curious how the sheep will respond to the next biological attack. Fortunately, there are a lot of freedom loving patriots in our Republic!

This is the result of government deciding who wins and who loses. Governors, especially Democrats, decided that big businesses, like Walmart, could remain open while smaller businesses had to close. I'm sure the amount of dollars contributed by big business was the determining factor who won and who lost

So, now, does government "owe" anything to those they ran out of business? Is there some reparations due? Or to landlords who could not bounce the deadbeats? Or, would that be socialism, too? Families have lost their "life's savings" invested in their business, not just the income it provided. Does government have any obligation, or is this an "act of God"?

Fauci has been responsible for providing bad information about Covid-19 that promoted the lockdowns and other Draconian measures. Evidence has recently come to light that Fauci was involved in the creation of the virus.
I think we should start calling this virus "Fauci-19." When you consider that Fauci was providing taxpayer money to finance Gain of Function research even after such funding had been prohibited, he deserves full credit for the results.
I suspect that funneling the money through Peter Daszak (via the "non-profit" EcoHealth Alliance, which he heads) was for the purpose of providing a degree of "deniability" if this ever came to light. The fact that the money was funneled to China to do the research shows a breathtaking level of criminal stupidity. It essentially gave the ChiComs a very deadly bio-weapon free of charge.

Saw many businesses fail without even looking hard so it had to be really bad.
How many failing businesses applied for loans, never got them, and failed? We heard many stories of those loans going to people that had government contacts.
We are governed by corrupt destroyers. They used a pandemic to destroy the economy to wreck people's lives. Why? Because they had to get rid of a pro-American President Trump.
Our government is not looking out for us. Look what went on at the G7 conference, and you can see what our 'leaders' are about. One world government with the world population (that's allowed to live) reduced to serfdom. They live like royalty., and everyone else is a peasant. And they call this 'progress'.
They will take our wealth.
They will take our rights.
They will take our lives.

What a sorry state of affairs . A travesty. My heart goes out to the small business owners who had to close their doors. Any governor dim or pubbie should be tarred and feathered for what they did to small business. Yeah, right, they claim it was due to covid. But, it was business as usual at the big lefty box stores. All part of the plan to transform America.
So, the usual question - what are we going to do about it other than read news articles and comment about them?

My business is gone. Things sold off at a sacrifice. I'm hanging in there, but all the plans and sacrifices I made just went down the drain.
If they wanted to make an entire group of people in the country extremely angry, they couldn't have done a better job. I always thought they were trying to get us to fire the first shot. The Capitol "insurrection" was planned to finish that off since we hadn't taken the bait during the "summer of love." If the audits turn out like I think they're going to, they may get another chance.

One thing I didn't notice anyone post was the part that big insurance companies are playing in closing down businesses. They will be raising rate by astounding percentages and just completely refusing to insure small businesses in areas nowhere close to where riots have been going on. Happening to me, I am sure I am not the only one.

Believing that the “gubmint” is your enemy is tantamount to blaming drug or gun manufacturers for an opioid crisis or school shootings.
It’s not the gubmint, it’s the LOUTS in government positions who are destroying the USA. What did you do to make the government better? Vote? How wonderfully quaint. Meanwhile, those of us who’ve lived and worked behind enemy lines our entire life (in government service) rarely came across a fellow conservative because Republican families were busy badmouthing government service to their children their entire life. The lunatic left was handed the US GOV unopposed because the right pretended to be Great Americans while doing nothing but chase the dollar, moan about national debt and whine about commies. If you weren’t willing to fight commies in close quarters, then you’re just as responsible for this mess as they are. Apologies for bringing hard reality to this little tea party
