Washington—President Joe Biden will host George Floyd’s family at the White House Tuesday to mark the first anniversary of his death at the hands of a white Minneapolis police officer, White House officials confirmed Friday evening. Earlier in the day, White House press secretary Jen Psaki said the president would mark the anniversary of Floyd’s death, but offered no further details on his plans.(Snip) Biden's plans to host Floyd's family come, however, as talks focused on the police reform bill named after Floyd—the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act—have stalled on Capitol Hill. Biden had previously set the anniversary of Floyd’s death

The two jail employees tasked with guarding pedophile Jeffrey Epstein the night of his suicide in a Manhattan jail have admitted to falsifying records—but will skirt time behind bars under a deal with prosecutors. Tova Noel and Michael Thomas admitted that they “willfully and knowingly” lied on forms stating that they’d made the required rounds checking on inmates the night of Epstein’s August 2019 suicide. Prosecutors said the guards were sleeping and surfing the web when they should have been monitoring the maximum security federal prisoner, who had recently been on suicide watch at the Metropolitan Correctional Center.(Snip) Instead, the disgraced duo will

President Biden promised to help Palestinians who lost their homes during 11 days of Israeli strikes on Gaza as he offered prayers Friday for a ceasefire to hold. During a press conference to mark the visit of South Korean President Moon Jae-in, he insisted he remained committed to Israeli security. But he struck a careful balance between both sides as he announced plans to help Palestinians in Gaza rebuild their lives so long as Hamas militants, who rained rockets on Israel, were not able to rebuild their armaments. 'I am prepared to put together, and am going to attempt to put together, a major package

A critical race studies and ethnic studies professor at the University of Colorado-Boulder says Americans wondering why Black citizens commit anti-Asian hate crimes have an answer: “White supremacy.” The educational watchdog Campus Reform spotlighted the commentary of Jennifer Ho, which preceded President Biden’s newly signed legislation aimed at combatting hate crimes against Asian Americans. “Anti-Asian racism has the same source as anti-Black racism: White supremacy,” Ms. Ho wrote for The Conversation. “So when a Black person attacks an Asian person, the encounter is fueled perhaps by racism, but very specifically by White supremacy. White supremacy does not require a White person to perpetuate it.”

Ready for a shot of love? The White House says roll up your sleeves.
As part of President Biden’s goal of vaccinating 70 percent of American adults with at least one shot by July 4th, the White House announced a partnership with some of the largest dating apps in the country Friday.
The apps—which include Tinder, Hinge, Match, OkCupid, BLK, Chispa, Plenty of Fish, Bumble and Badoo—will launch new features to encourage hesitant singles to get inoculated. Some of the features will include badges on profiles showing an individual’s vaccination status, access to free premium content like boosts, super likes and super swipes

Transgender advocates are calling Tennessee “the state of hate” in response to a series of new laws aimed at protecting biological women. LGBTQ activists see the laws as discriminatory to transgenders and say the Republican-run state is increasingly hostile to transgender rights. They’re also threatening legal action. “Tennessee has gone well above board to go after trans folks,” said Sasha Buchert, an attorney for Lambda Legal, a pro-LGBTQ legal group. “This isn’t about policy, it’s about prejudice.” Since March, there have been at least four new laws implemented in the Volunteer State that involve the rights of transgender individuals and biological women.

President Joe Biden said it was a stinging comment from Irish prime minister Micheál Martin that got him seriously concerned that the U.S. was losing its top perch in the world to China. 'The most devastating comment made after I was elected—it wasn't so much about it—but it was by the Irish taoiseach saying that "Well, America can't lead. They can't even get their arms around COVID,' Biden said in a new interview with The New York Times' David Brooks.

Chilling surveillance footage obtained by Fox News shows the moment a Jewish man in Los Angeles was chased by two cars bearing Palestinian flags near his home earlier this week as they chanted "Allahu akbar" in an apparent attempt to run him over. The man, who asked to remain anonymous, told Fox News he was walking from his home to synagogue on Monday night during the Jewish holiday of Shavuot when he noticed a car speeding toward him. "I've taken this route a million times and I've never been afraid," he said.(Snip) Surveillance footage recorded from a nearby synagogue shows the man running

A first of its kind, LEGO is releasing their first ever LGBTQ-themed set titled, ‘Everyone is Awesome.’ The 346-piece set, which will be released at the beginning of June for Pride Month, contains 11 figures, each with an assigned rainbow color. “I wanted to create a model that symbolizes inclusivity and celebrates everyone, no matter how they identify or who they love,” the set’s designer, Matthew Ashton, said in a statement Thursday.
Ashton said the set was also a celebration of the LGBTQ community within Lego and among the company’s adult fans. “I am fortunate to be a part of a proud, supportive and passionate

President Biden on Thursday endorsed an Egypt-brokered ceasefire between Israel and Hamas—while vowing the US would help rebuild Gaza and restock Israel’s missile defense system. Biden condemned the militant group Hamas and said he spoke six times during the two-week conflict with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu—two times more than was publicly known.(Snip)
Biden also said the US would help replenish Israel’s Iron Dome missile defense system, which shot down many rockets fired from Gaza. “I extend my sincere gratitude to President el-Sisi and the senior Egyptian officials who plays such a critical role in this diplomacy,” Biden said.

bLACK people commit the overwhelming majority of the "random assaults" against Asians. A mean WHITE person might point that out during the meeting, the content of which surely is to slam WHITE people for the crime of existing.
