Tech entrepreneur Elon Musk has revealed he has Asperger's syndrome while appearing on the US comedy sketch series Saturday Night Live (SNL). The 49-year-old told viewers he was "the first person with Asperger's" to host the long-running programme - to loud cheers from the audience. People with Asperger's interpret the environment around them differently to other people. It is thought to be the first time Mr Musk has spoken about his condition. The tech boss was guest hosting the sketch show - a coveted role that has been filled by an array of celebrities since SNL's inception in the 1970s. These include Adele, Chris Rock, Ringo Starr, and Will Ferrell.

Earlier today came this story from Politico about a huge spike in violence during Monday between Israeli Defense Forces and Palestinian terrorists operating out of the Gaza Strip, requiring the use of the “Iron Dome” by Israel to intercept rockets fired out of Gaza.
Weeks of tensions between Israelis and Palestinians over access to holy sites and the potential eviction of several Palestinian families from east Jerusalem exploded Monday, leaving more than 300 Palestinians hurt, according to media reports. That’s on top of other Palestinians and Israeli security officials hurt in earlier recent clashes.

President Joe Biden announced in a speech on Monday that Americans currently receiving unemployment benefits must either take a job that is "suitable" or lose their benefits, encouraging states to reinstate a pre-pandemic policy of requiring people to search for work.
"We're going to make it clear that anyone collecting unemployment who is offered a suitable job must take the job or lose their unemployment benefits," Biden said at the White House.

Yes, my headline is pretty blunt but no more so than this NY Times piece itself. Last week CNN published a story about the progressive push to get Justice Breyer to retire. There’s was one paragraph in that story which I found particularly striking. It noted that the Senate could fall into Republican’s hands “at any moment” because “two members of the Democratic majority are near or just over 80 years old.” In other words, Democrats are one stopped heartbeat away from losing the chance to replace Breyer with a young progressive.

The messaging surrounding the distribution of the COVID-19 vaccines has been an absolute dumpster fire. We still have Biden administration officials refusing to tell people they can return to normal after getting vaccinated. Joe Biden’s average approval rating is 54 percent. That’s not bad, though it lags behind the 100-day numbers of every post-World War II president except Donald Trump.
But our friend Michael Barone looks behind that number and sees worrying signs for Democrats.
For one thing, Biden’s 41.6 percent disapproval number is about equal to Trump’s. And Biden’s real numbers may be worse than what the poll average shows because, as The Cook Political Report’s Amy Walter suggests, polls seem to be under-sampling Republican voters.
