In a welcomed Mother’s Day gift on Sunday’s Face the Nation, former FDA commissioner and Pfizer board member Dr. Scott Gottlieb called for the end of outdoor and INDOOR mask mandates in a “wholesale fashion” since the country was well on its way to getting over the COVID pandemic. He argued that “the public has to trust that public health officials are going to lift these restrictions as quickly as they put them in place as the conditions improve” as a way to “maintain our integrity.”
Interestingly, Gottlieb was teed up to deliver his message by fill-in CBS moderator John Dickerson

Joe Biden’s average approval rating is 54 percent. That’s not bad, though it lags behind the 100-day numbers of every post-World War II president except Donald Trump.
But our friend Michael Barone looks behind that number and sees worrying signs for Democrats.
For one thing, Biden’s 41.6 percent disapproval number is about equal to Trump’s. And Biden’s real numbers may be worse than what the poll average shows because, as The Cook Political Report’s Amy Walter suggests, polls seem to be under-sampling Republican voters.

NEW YORK — The cyberextortion attempt that has forced the shutdown of a vital U.S. pipeline was carried out by a criminal gang known as DarkSide that cultivates a Robin Hood image of stealing from corporations and giving a cut to charity, two people close to the investigation said Sunday.
The shutdown, meanwhile, stretched into its third day, with the Biden administration loosening regulations for the transport of petroleum products on highways as part of an “all-hands-on-deck” effort to avoid disruptions in the fuel supply.
Experts said that gasoline prices are unlikely to be affected if the pipeline is back to normal in the next few days but

Tech entrepreneur Elon Musk has revealed he has Asperger's syndrome while appearing on the US comedy sketch series Saturday Night Live (SNL). The 49-year-old told viewers he was "the first person with Asperger's" to host the long-running programme - to loud cheers from the audience.
People with Asperger's interpret the environment around them differently to other people.
It is thought to be the first time Mr Musk has spoken about his condition.
The tech boss was guest hosting the sketch show - a coveted role that has been filled by an array of celebrities since SNL's inception in the 1970s. These include Adele, Chris Rock, Ringo Starr, and Will Ferrell.

It’s not getting much play right now, but Canada is an absolute mess. In some parts of the country, the tyrannical mitigation measures put in place by the government to supposedly combat COVID-19 are so bad that they’d make New York blush.
A dramatic new video has just been released by independent, conservative journalist Ezra Levant of Rebel News showing the arrest of a Christian pastor for “inciting” people to go to church. Apparently, a SWAT team was used to arrest him after he left his church service. The churchgoers had initially expelled the police from the church building, but they returned in force.

Going back to the late 1920s, every single child raised in America has intersected in some way with products from Walt Disney: We’ve watched the movies and TV shows, sung the songs, worn the clothes, and visited the theme parks. Through it all, Disney stood for wholesome family entertainment. That is no longer the case. Disney is a hardcore leftists corporation that is pushing its politics on children and training its employees to be white-hating racists or self-loathing white people. It’s time to give up Disney.

Colonial Pipeline, the largest US refined fuel pipeline operator, has shut down operations because of a cyberattack, the company said.
After learning it was "the victim of a cybersecurity attack," the pipeline operator on Friday took certain systems offline, temporarily halting pipeline operations and certain IT systems. It also hired an outside cybersecurity firm that is investigating the severity of the breach, the company said in a statement.

The first question a Portland police officer asked the man beaten and held at gunpoint by antifa and Black Lives Matter “protesters” on a city street on Wednesday was “what did you do to agitate the crowd?”
And that tells you everything about why militant thugs run the streets of Portland with impunity. The cops blame the victims. Worse, victims who dare defend themselves become the bad guys.

Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt signed a bill into law on Friday banning the teaching of critical race theory in public schools and universities.
"Now more than ever, we need policies that bring us closer together – not rip us apart. As governor, I firmly believe that not one cent of taxpayer money should be used to define and divide young Oklahomans by their race or sex," Stitt, a Republican, said in a statement obtained by the Washington Examiner.
The measure prohibits schools from teaching students that "one race or sex is inherently superior to another" and that "an individual, by virtue of his or her race or sex, is inherently racist

LONDON — Britain's governing Conservative Party made further inroads in the north of England on Friday, winning a special election in the post-industrial town of Hartlepool for a parliamentary seat that the main opposition Labour Party had held since 1974. Managing to present themselves as the party of change despite having led the U.K. for 11 years, Prime Minister Boris Johnson's Conservatives extended their grip on parts of England that had been Labour strongholds for decades, if not a century. Many of these seats that have flipped from red to blue voted heavily in 2016 for Britain’s departure from the European Union.
