Colonial Pipeline, the largest US refined fuel pipeline operator, has shut down operations because of a cyberattack, the company said. After learning it was "the victim of a cybersecurity attack," the pipeline operator on Friday took certain systems offline, temporarily halting pipeline operations and certain IT systems. It also hired an outside cybersecurity firm that is investigating the severity of the breach, the company said in a statement. Connecting these critical systems to the internet is absolutely insane. Stupid beyond belief. And don't tell me about your "multiple layers of security". The ONLY actual security is an "air gap"....i.e. NO CONNECTION to the internet at all. And if you really care about security, ALL computers on your local system, which is isolated from the net, must have their unibus ports physically removed or filled with epoxy. All sorts of attacks have occurred via a mem stick stuck into a unibus port. Get a clue, folks.

#2 is right on the money. The only real security, and the least expensive, is no physical connection at all. Anything else can and will be beached sooner or later. It is a certainty. I tried to explain that to the military in the 90's, but was dismissed because I was just a nobody network administrator without many letters after my name.

FTA: "The company is the country's largest refined products pipeline operator, transporting more than 100 million gallons of gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, and home heating oil daily through a pipeline system that spans 5,500 miles from Houston, Texas to the New York area." Pipelines from the source rock to the refiners on the Tx-La Gulf Coast are bad but pipelines from Gulf Coast refineries to the leftist strongholds are good and essential? Why do so many think that giving the leftists a good dose of that which they wish to impose on us all is a bad thing? Let them crank up their "sustainable energy" plants to fuel their luxury electric cars and delivery trucks. These folks brayed for their Anti-American warrior politicians (AOC) to have planned pipelines cancelled (Keystone) and to shut down fossil fuels, now let's see them revel in the future they wish to impose on Normal Americans. If only the food "pipeline" could be interrupted to give the leftists a taste of life without diesel trucks.

In away #8, the northeast is self limiting. We haul freight and when offered a load to the northeast I just say, yeah we don’t go to that area. Too many idiot car drivers and too few truck stops. Don’t even get me started on the additional taxes added to the fuel price. Freight to the northeast does pay very well but it’s not worth the headaches. And the DOT police think truckers are an awesome source of revenue. We don’t do Cali either. A lot of truckers won’t go there either due to their insane CARB regulations.

It’s not getting much play right now, but Canada is an absolute mess. In some parts of the country, the tyrannical mitigation measures put in place by the government to supposedly combat COVID-19 are so bad that they’d make New York blush. A dramatic new video has just been released by independent, conservative journalist Ezra Levant of Rebel News showing the arrest of a Christian pastor for “inciting” people to go to church. Apparently, a SWAT team was used to arrest him after he left his church service. The churchgoers had initially expelled the police from the church building, but they returned in force.

Disney is a hardcore leftists corporation that is pushing its politics on children and training its employees to be white-hating racists or self-loathing white people. It’s time to give up Disney.

Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt signed a bill into law on Friday banning the teaching of critical race theory in public schools and universities. "Now more than ever, we need policies that bring us closer together – not rip us apart. As governor, I firmly believe that not one cent of taxpayer money should be used to define and divide young Oklahomans by their race or sex," Stitt, a Republican, said in a statement obtained by the Washington Examiner. The measure prohibits schools from teaching students that "one race or sex is inherently superior to another" and that "an individual, by virtue of his or her race or sex, is inherently racist

LONDON — Britain's governing Conservative Party made further inroads in the north of England on Friday, winning a special election in the post-industrial town of Hartlepool for a parliamentary seat that the main opposition Labour Party had held since 1974. Managing to present themselves as the party of change despite having led the U.K. for 11 years, Prime Minister Boris Johnson's Conservatives extended their grip on parts of England that had been Labour strongholds for decades, if not a century. Many of these seats that have flipped from red to blue voted heavily in 2016 for Britain’s departure from the European Union.

It teaches Americans and members of the Armed Services to judge one another by the color of their skin instead of by the ‘content of their character.’

The Tennessee General Assembly has banned the teaching of critical race theory, passing a law at the very end of the legislative session to withhold funding from public schools that teach about white privilege. Republicans in the House made the legislation a last-minute priority, introducing provisions that ban schools from instructing students that one race bears responsibility for the past actions against another, that the United States is fundamentally racist or that a person is inherently privileged or oppressive due to their race. Similar proposals surfaced in other states this year, including one in Idaho that has been signed into law by the governor. Texas Republicans

As we previously reported, the jobs report came out today and it was a disaster for the Biden regime. Not only was it bad, it was so much lower than what they’d predicted it would be, Axios described it as the biggest miss in the history of the report. It’s part of an effort to help tackle a disease-transmitting invasive mosquito population—the Aedes aegypti mosquito species—that’s responsible for “virtually all mosquito-borne diseases transmitted to humans,” according to the company.
