Public Education was Never the Solution

Original Article

Critical Race Theory (CRT) has been making its way into public schools for decades. Now it has reached a tipping point, aided perhaps by the realities of Covid and the remote school board meetings and online classes. Now parents, formerly unable to attend meetings of arguably the dumbest collection of people in elected office and formerly unaware of the dumbed-down curriculum of their children, are starting to wake up and push back.

Comments:

The same snakes who claim to be concerned about "misinformation" promote this garbage... critical race theory. Enough is enough.

Years ago public education was the three Rs. The concern was why Johnny couldn't read. And then came "prosperity" in a society that "required" two incomes to survive, forcing mothers to work. And with that parents became less parents and more friends and caretakers for children. There was a howl for years about the schools teaching "values". So they did. Problem is that parents didn't really pay attention, and that nice lady I voted for was endorsed by the teachers' union, and they should know what is best. The "values" taught were not the ones necessarily the parents'. But, that was okay, the kids were being cared for while mom and pop worked. And it's all paid for by my taxes anyways...so it's FREE! It's still that way.

Those who do not remember history are doomed to repeat it. Do you know that public schools were presented to the nation as a way to stop those dreaded Catholic Schools from teaching anything to children.

FTA:" Ultimately, student and school success have nothing to do with the schools themselves and everything to do with the families from where the students originate." Yes, exactly. My mother taught me to read before I ever went to any school. I finished the 8th grade reader early in the 3rd grade. I learned a lot at schools, no question, but I learned more reading National Geographic, Popular Science, Popular Mechanics, Flying, Aviation History magazines and libraries of books, some fiction like the Tom Swift series, but many histories, too. My mother teaching me to read very early was a wonderful, wonderful thing and it opened up a whole new world. I began reading the newspaper at breakfast every morning at age 5, and continued for 45 years until I cancelled our last newspaper for being a communist propaganda lie-fest that I could no longer stand.

Our major problem with education today seems to be it's replacement at many levels by indoctrination. Another major problem, less recognized, is the confusion of education with training. One can be well trained but poorly educated. Look at it this way: I can train my dog but would not be likely to succeed in educating it. Much, if not most, of higher education today is vocational training. Nothing really wrong with that I suppose....but it should be recognized.

The past year I have been writing extensively about what I call the “great conservative migration”; a shift in US demographics not seen since the Great Depression. Approximately 8.9 million Americans have relocated since the beginning of the covid lockdowns according to the US Postal service, and a large portion of these people are leaving left-leaning blue states for conservative red states in the west and the south. States like California, Illinois, New York and New Jersey were at the top of the list of states people wanted to escape.

In the past few weeks, there has been a surge of mainstream media reporting on the absence of a flu season. Outlets like USA Today, Newsweek, and The New York Times count as just a few names within the left-wing media cabal publishing identical stories. If they are reporting something, it can almost be certain that the reportage is untrue. Therefore, what is the real truth regarding flu statistics?

Since the COVID-19 pandemic began over a year ago, one of the primary concerns across the country has been its impact on education. The quality of education for school children being forced to learn from home via on-line learning has been so worrisome, many states have seen a dramatic decrease in public school enrollment as parents opt for private schools instead. In California for instance, public school enrollment this year dropped by over 160,000 compared to the previous trend of approximately 25,000.

If you are reluctant to get the COVID vaccine and beginning to feel overrun by forces pressuring you to get vaccinated, you aren’t alone and you aren’t crazy. There’s a reason you feel the way you do. You are being manipulated. We are being bombarded with commercials pushing us to be socially responsible. Medical professionals, celebrities, and folks in our communities admonish us not to shirk our civic duty. Suddenly, the vaccine is the only way to normalcy. Friends and family openly brag about their vaccinations and gasp in astonishment when they find out you haven’t decided or, worse, that you will not get it.

President Joe Biden's proclamation of the annual National Day of Prayer failed to include the word 'God', an omission that is drawing criticism from some religious leaders. Biden, a devout Catholic, typically ends his public remarks with the phrase 'May God bless you all, and God protect our troops' - but his proclamation for Thursday's Day of Prayer contained no such acknowledgement of a higher power. 'Prayer has nourished countless souls and powered moral movements — including essential fights against racial injustice, child labor, and infringement on the rights of disabled Americans,' the proclamation read in part.

In the California governor’s race, candidate Caitlyn (née Bruce) Jenner has landed the first blow, and it’s a telling one. This week, the former Kardashian paterfamilias’ campaign released a three-minute ad that might as well have been titled “Make California Great Again.” It’s a killer ad because every Californian knows that under one-party Democratic rule, the Golden State isn’t so golden anymore. Jenner’s ad juxtaposes the California of an earlier era, intercut with footage of Bruce at the Olympics, and sharply contrasts those evocations of sun, fun and vitality with images from today, featuring homeless encampments, discarded hypodermic needles and shuttered businesses.
