The already minuscule number of Black and Latino students accepted each year to New York City’s specialized high schools got even smaller during the pandemic, new data shows. The share of acceptance offers that went to Black and Latino eighth-graders dipped from nearly 11% last year to 9% this year, despite that being the racial make up of roughly 65% of the school system, according to admissions numbers released by the city Education Department Thursday.(Snip) The percentage of test-takers who are Black or Latino fell from 44.6% last year to 41.3% this year, while the percentage of white or Asian students
