South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott delivered the Republican response to President Joe Biden's address to Congress Wednesday night. Read his remarks as prepared for delivery:
"Good evening. I'm Senator Tim Scott from the great state of South Carolina.
"We just heard President Biden's first address to Congress. Our President seems like a good man. His speech was full of good words.
"But President Biden promised you a specific kind of leadership. He promised to unite a nation. To lower the temperature. To govern for all Americans, no matter how we voted.
"That was the pitch. You just heard it again.
"But our nation is starving for more than empty platitudes

From the speech...
"You know this stuff is wrong. Hear me clearly: America is not a racist country.
.....
"Original sin is never the end of the story. Not in our souls, and not for our nation. The real story is always redemption.
It's not a typical response to a SOTU speech.
It's a POTUS level speech.

I agree very much that it was a fine speech. It was not the typical response. I will not say anything about what I felt it left out. I will see if anyone else noticed it.

Excellent speech, especially the one line that describes Democrats to a tee.
"My friends across the aisle seemed to want the issue more than they wanted a solution."
Like the saying goes, how many Democrats does it take to solve a problem? No one knows, they never have.

What was left out is any mention of President Trump or the stolen election. Say all the good things you want about Tim Scott, but at first he claimed the election was perfectly fine and only later, when confronted with facts, he declared he would create a commission to study the issue. Big Whoop! I was once a fan, no longer am and will never be one again!

Did Scott outline a plan of action? How about a call to action, was this included?

Wow, I'm reading through the replies and wondering what speech you all watched. LOL!
As nice a life story as he has, what's the plan, Tim. What the heck is the plan?

Do not doubt the sincerity of Senator Scott.
Doubt the sincerity of the Republican Senate that spent the last six years working against Trump, and muting differences between Christian foundations of American greatness and secular influence of Chinese funded globalism.

A brilliant rebuttal to the lies of the sleaziest president in history. Biden is creepier than Bill Clinton, less intelligent than Jimmy Carter and more dishonest than Barack Obama. I admire Tim Scott for being able to go to work every day and put up with the marxists all around him. His words give me more hope than I had yesterday,

Sounds like Senator Scott made a fine speech...didn't listen... made some hot chocolate and went to bed...I'll wait for Greg Kelly's take on the evening at 6:00 pm central time on Newsman... he seems to follow Rush Limbaugh's line of thinking...tough and to the point...

In reading his speech, I think he made some valid points.
There is one point that I would like to elaborate on and I have it copied here: "I know what it feels like to be pulled over for no reason. To be followed around a store while I'm shopping. I remember, every morning, at the kitchen table, my grandfather would have the newspaper in his hands. Later, I realized he had never learned to read it. He just wanted to set the right example."
So, I would like to comment to Senator Tim Scott on his first sentence. We have all been pulled over for no reason. I can think of several situations where I was pulled over and I am a white person. To me, I wasn't doing anything wrong but to an officer, he has no idea. Thankfully, I was polite and answered all of the police officer's questions and he sent me on my way. I know of situations with other white people where they were pulled over. One of the situations was a white woman being handcuffed because they thought she had been involved in a recent robbery. She cooperated completely, police officer realized mistake, and they sent her on her way.
Senator Tim Scott, sometimes we don't like situations that happen but sometimes the truth is not apparent. Cooperation and politeness go a long way; it is only when we are trying to cover something up when things go astray.

Go on twitter, and read the vile racist crap he got from the democrats and their minions. The supposedly anti racist mob. Mostly white liberals calling him vile hateful stuff, throwing racist sluts at him.
And twitter, with their phony "safety of our community" band of censors allowed that to trend.
