South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott delivered the Republican response to President Joe Biden's address to Congress Wednesday night. Read his remarks as prepared for delivery: "Good evening. I'm Senator Tim Scott from the great state of South Carolina. "We just heard President Biden's first address to Congress. Our President seems like a good man. His speech was full of good words. "But President Biden promised you a specific kind of leadership. He promised to unite a nation. To lower the temperature. To govern for all Americans, no matter how we voted. "That was the pitch. You just heard it again. "But our nation is starving for more than empty platitudes

From the speech... "You know this stuff is wrong. Hear me clearly: America is not a racist country. ..... "Original sin is never the end of the story. Not in our souls, and not for our nation. The real story is always redemption. It's not a typical response to a SOTU speech. It's a POTUS level speech.

Excellent speech, especially the one line that describes Democrats to a tee. "My friends across the aisle seemed to want the issue more than they wanted a solution." Like the saying goes, how many Democrats does it take to solve a problem? No one knows, they never have.

What was left out is any mention of President Trump or the stolen election. Say all the good things you want about Tim Scott, but at first he claimed the election was perfectly fine and only later, when confronted with facts, he declared he would create a commission to study the issue. Big Whoop! I was once a fan, no longer am and will never be one again!

Do not doubt the sincerity of Senator Scott. Doubt the sincerity of the Republican Senate that spent the last six years working against Trump, and muting differences between Christian foundations of American greatness and secular influence of Chinese funded globalism.

A brilliant rebuttal to the lies of the sleaziest president in history. Biden is creepier than Bill Clinton, less intelligent than Jimmy Carter and more dishonest than Barack Obama. In reading his speech, I think he made some valid points. There is one point that I would like to elaborate on and I have it copied here: "I know what it feels like to be pulled over for no reason. To be followed around a store while I'm shopping. I remember, every morning, at the kitchen table, my grandfather would have the newspaper in his hands. Later, I realized he had never learned to read it. He just wanted to set the right example." So, I would like to comment to Senator Tim Scott on his first sentence. We have all been pulled over for no reason. I can think of several situations where I was pulled over and I am a white person. To me, I wasn't doing anything wrong but to an officer, he has no idea. Thankfully, I was polite and answered all of the police officer's questions and he sent me on my way. I know of situations with other white people where they were pulled over. One of the situations was a white woman being handcuffed because they thought she had been involved in a recent robbery. She cooperated completely, police officer realized mistake, and they sent her on her way. Senator Tim Scott, sometimes we don't like situations that happen but sometimes the truth is not apparent. Cooperation and politeness go a long way; it is only when we are trying to cover something up when things go astray.

Go on twitter, and read the vile racist crap he got from the democrats and their minions. The supposedly anti racist mob. Mostly white liberals calling him vile hateful stuff, throwing racist sluts at him. And twitter, with their phony "safety of our community" band of censors allowed that to trend.

The family of Ashli Babbitt, who was fatally shot while participating in the Jan. 6 invasion of the U.S. Capitol, plans to sue the police department and the officer who fired the gun for at least $10 million. News of the forthcoming lawsuit, first reported by Newsweek, came more than two weeks after the Justice Department said it would not file criminal charges against the officer who killed Babbitt. Terrell Roberts, an attorney for the Babbitt family, told CNBC on Thursday that it had not been determined when, or in which court

When Americans fight about race or culture, the fight is almost always really about social class. And that shows up in today’s discussions about riots and policing. The Daily Caller recently sent a video correspondent to Brooklyn Center, Minn., scene of many police-shooting-related riots, and to Washington, DC, home of America’s ruling class, and asked people in both places when and if rioting was justified. The answers differed sharply. In Brooklyn Center, where the destruction was visible firsthand, respondents (nearly all black men of various ages) overwhelmingly opposed rioting. An African-American man in an “Army Veteran” hat commented: “We’re human, and we want

Joe Biden’s big speech before Congress went about as well as you’d expect. The president stumbled through his notes, making numerous verbal gaffes and seemingly getting less energetic as the night wore on. He also managed to downplay major attacks like 9/11 and repeat various lies about things like guns and the Constitution. Now, the ratings are in, and the embarrassment has commenced. The original numbers were catastrophically bad, and while the latest counts are higher, they still pale in comparison to Donald Trump’s numbers. This per TV Newser. Nielsen now reports that an estimated 26.9 million people tuned in to watch President Biden’s inaugural address to a Joint Session of Congress.

Kudos to Sen. Tim Scott for his slam-dunk response to President Joe Biden’s speech Wednesday night, calling out the president’s hypocrisy and demanding he start walking the “unity” walk. And he did it with some killer lines, noting that “a president who promised to bring us together” is “pushing agendas that tear us apart” and scoffing of the refusal to negotiate on Biden’s $2.3 trillion infrastructure plan that Democrats “won’t even build bridges to build bridges.” Scott was particularly effective on Biden’s talk of “systemic racism.” He recounted his own experiences with discrimination, then declared: “America is not a racist country. It’s backwards to fight discrimination with different discrimination.”

A first address to Congress or State of the Union speech is pretty much one where you completely control your environment and everyone is generally fairly polite in response. Some from the opposing side might not clap and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi ripped up President Donald Trump’s speech during one of his addresses. But for the most part, you have the floor without interruption. So, in general, it’s hard not to get a positive reaction to a speech and scenario you completely control — in Biden’s case, one long delayed that ordinarily would have been in February.
