President Joe Biden delivered his first address to a joint meeting of Congress Wednesday night as he pitched his economic plan took a dig at Wall Street and invoked the Jan. 6th riot to level criticism at former President Donald Trump.Speaking to a slice of lawmakers that reflected the growing muscle of the progressive wing of his own party, Biden said there were 'good guys and women on Wall Street – but Wall Street didn't build this country. Paying people to sit around and do nothing ever built anything. If your time, sacrifice and sweat didn't go into an accomplishment, it will have no value to you. Money and manufacturing will go offshore again and only the middle class will be affected, as usual. The rich will not hand over a large chunk of their earnings and I don't blame them.

A union never created anything. Unions owe their existence to big corporations, traded on... Wall Street. The middle class came about not only because of unions. It rose up because the US offers conditions favorable to the establishment of a middle class Hard working people made the middle class. Stop romanticicizing the unions.

I didn't take time to read this entire, commendably complete book (article). It is part catalogue of horrors, part gallery of nightmares. We are ruled by loathsome criminals. But this I got from a cursory digestion: we are now past the End of the Beginning. We are at the Beginning of the End. If this tyrannical regime cannot somehow be ended, we will hit bottom; sooner rather than later.

His lack of knowledge of our history is appalling. Who does he think built the railroads, subways, power lines and telephones systems? The Good Fairy? No, it was Wall Street Bankers and other entrepreneurs who risked their capital to do so. And if anybody said they did some rotten things, yes they did. But so did our government when we built the TVA.

Economics is not one of the "arts" ... it is one of the "sciences". It is the least understood however! Everyone with any opinion thinks they understand how markets work and wealth is created. It is this total lack of understanding of economics that has caused the world's problems. Yes ... think about it. Trying to get people to work for free, governments thinking it's okay to take what you have and give it to another, taxing for "the common good" that isn't good nor does it benefit everyone ... it only benefits a few. All because people don't get economics. They wouldn't try to build a plane without understanding aerodynamics nor build a bridge with no understanding of engineering, yet they play with economics all the time. And always end up burned!

President Biden’s speech Wednesday night failed on all counts: It didn’t sell his latest spending plan, it didn’t sell his larger agenda — and, worst of all, it didn’t sell him.Start with the utterly bizarre “mask theater.” All the politicians in the room have been fully vaccinated, and Biden’s own CDC says that’s enough. So why the universal masking, and the social distancing? The message, cutting across the president’s occasional optimism, was that this nightmare will never end — which simply isn’t true.Equally, obviously false was Biden’s now-routine effort to claim all the credit for successful vaccinations: All that was set in motion before he took office.
