The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reports that at least 8 million Americans who received their first dose of the coronavirus vaccine have failed to return for the second dose. Both the Moderna and Pfizer vaccines require two doses about a month apart for the full immunological effects to take hold.
About 8 percent of people are not taking their second dose, double what the rate was in February. Then, the cause was a limited supply that created bottlenecks in some regions of the country. But public health authorities are concerned because while one dose of vaccine offers some protection, two doses are needed

Second thoughts, or realize that 90% protection is enough?

I slipped out on the first one because I caught the Chinese flu 6 months ago and now have antibodies in my blood. I’m immune and can’t catch it again and am not a carrier. I wouldn’t take the shot under any circumstances whether I had caught it before or not. I’m not a guinea pig.

Maybe it is because of so many months of playing football with Lucy van Pelt but I wonder if the two-dose minimum is more bulcrap from Fauci?

2 manufacturers requiring 2 shots; 1 manufacturer requiring only 1. I'll give it a year until this is all sorted out and there's 1 shot like the flu shot - unless, of course, we have a huge rise in flipper babies or the Walking Dead 9 months from now.

The J&J is very close to the flu shot. The two shot is something else. People are getting very sick on the second shot. If I have to get one of the vaccines, it will be J&J.
Wait, crazy Fauci is telling everyone that they will have to get another shot. My bet Fauci is getting a kick back on the two shots. Will someone please follow the money!

The Mrs and I got the J&J shot, in preparation for a cruise this year. Of course, the cruise was cancelled... So, we're flying South for a vacation, where we'll be welcomed with open arms, and no masks...

We had the 2 shots. No reaction at all to the first, but a bit of lethargy after the second. Other than that, nada.

The Wife and I have both received the Pfizer series. I read an article a few days back that said we may require a third shot to achieve the desired effect...

FTA:" We won’t know until the continuing human trials are mixed with the real-world results to give us a clearer picture of how long the body sustains an effective immune response." Is one shot enough? Two, three or booster shots in perpetuity? The bottom line is that they know very little about the vaccine. So everyone who gets it, is a guinea pig.

Not me. I got both doses of the Pfizer. No side effects from either. My son got his first last week and will get the second two weeks hence.

I had the first shot - Moderna - at the VA om February 2nd, reacted badly to it, didn't say anything for a month on this site, didn't want to discourage anyone from taking it.
I have swollen lymph nodes, base of chest and neck, and when I cough, it feels like a punch to the ribs. I had a series of tests, from chest xrays to ultrasound doppler test, looking for blood clots in my leg.
And as a final insult, they ran a mammogram on me. (Now I better understand why women are grouchy.)
My family physician, the VA, and the CDC all say, no second shot. If you have a bad reaction to the first shot, the second shot would be really bad. I can't take the Johnson and Johnson shot either.
Wil the Kung Flu get me? I have 80% protection, so I don't know. Probably not. But I'm 82 years old, so something will get me, sooner than later.

1. Statements from our government are indicating that the vaccine will not protect you enough so that you can stop: wearing the mask, stop staying out of restaurants, or go back to work. Then what good is it? It has an immediate risk that is greater than the actual disease while it's long term benefits are essentially nil.
2. This vaccine appears to be the most risky vaccine ever. Vaccines for dogs and cats are extremely risky compared to human vaccines because they are not usually as extensively tested as vaccines for humans. And it's because the value of the life of a pet is not in reality up to the level of the life of a human. That may seem cruel but it's reality. And these chi-com virus vaccines have been tested less than pet vaccines and are probably the least tested medical treatment ever. A strap on coffee cup holder for a wheel chair has gone through more testing. (Which is why they are so expensive and still just junk. Get a cup holder for a bicycle instead. Far more functional.)

Why would anyone waste their time and potentially their heath getting a vaccine? Fauci has told us its worthless. Even with the vaccine we have to continue with face diapers, can't eat indoors, can't see other people in person, and can't go to outdoor events (except 'peaceful riots') without the overbearing 'precautions to flatten the curve'?

#4, I predict Phase Two will be at least a year or two down the road because they need time to get it to all the third world places and get them 'vaccinated'. Not going to happen soon. And I suspect that Phase Two will require a second 'agent' of some kind.

There's a growing number of people who complete the vaccine regimen, yet still contract the Bat Flu. As I have already had the Wuhan Flu, I will pass on the vaccine.
