The howl was loud, prolonged, anguished and animated.Actress Frances McDormand's bizarre imitation of a wolf was comfortably the most surprising and interesting part of this year's Oscars. And although there was a heartfelt story behind it – she was paying tribute to a sound engineer on her movie Nomadland named Michael Wolf Snyder who took his life earlier this year – the howl perfectly encapsulated my own feelings watching the most unwatchable Academy Awards in history.Honestly, if there was an Oscar for Worst Horror Story, it would go to whoever decided it would be a good idea to hold this year's event in a train station.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis made a surprise visit to the grand opening of the new Delray Beach Market on Saturday, a 150,000-square-foot facility that became the state’s largest food hall.Located near the Atlantic Avenue dining district, DeSantis dropped in on the grand opening of the new market that features more than two dozen unique culinary choices to help the business owners — some of whom relocated from stagnant New York — as well as continue to celebrate post-COVID reopenings. And in doing so, the popular conservative governor provided his detractors on the left with a new trigger: The way he ate a piece of pizza.

Redistricting in California could deliver several crucial House seats to the GOP in 2022 as the state’s congressional districts are redrawn following the 2020 census. The California Citizens Redistricting commission will redraw some congressional district boundaries this year according to updated census numbers. The new congressional map is expected to cut into California’s 45th district, currently held by Democratic Rep. Katie Porter, and bolster numbers in one or several of the surrounding districts in and around Orange County.Where the cuts will come out of Porter’s overpopulated county, and into which new district those voters will be placed, is difficult to predict.

What will be the future of the mass hysteria spawned last summer? No one knows. But its destination, if unchecked, will be ethnic tensions and sectarian strife at best akin to those in Brazil and India—or at worst Lebanon, Syria, and Rwanda. Until just a few years ago, racial differences, according to polls, were more or less receding. Intermarriage between racial groups is at historic highs. But by 2014-2015, with the birth of Black Lives Matter, its courting by the Obama Administration, and the emergence of the electronic social media mob and cancel culture, such progress seems to have ended.

The members of the NYPD grew so disenchanted with their jobs in 2020 that over 5,300 uniformed officers either retired or quit, an astonishing 75% increase over the year before, amounting to 15% of the total number of officers on the force. The impetus for the officers quitting seemed to be the death of George Floyd and the unrest that followed; between May 25 and June 24, 2020, a whopping 272 officers left the force in one month.2,600 officers quit and 2,746 filed for retirement, according to the New York Post. The 5,346 officers who left the force were nearly 2,300 more than left the force in 2019,

Sky News Australian host James Morrow criticized recent moves President Joe Biden has made that, at least on the surface, appear to be weakening America’s military might while America’s and Australia’s enemies are growing increasingly aggressive.Morrow made the remarks Saturday on Anzac Day, a day where Australians commemorate those in their military who died for their freedoms.“Today is Anzac Day, when we commemorate all those who made the ultimate sacrifice fighting for our freedoms and fighting very often side by side with soldiers from the United States, which is why

The Arizona Republican Party Chairwoman Kelli Ward gave an update Saturday on the ongoing Maricopa County forensic audit of 2020 ballots and Dominion voting machines. The Pro-Trump chair is the RIGHT PERSON for the job as party leader in Arizona.Kelli Ward spoke about how Democrats went to court on Friday in their latest attempt to shut down the ballot audit. In a disgusting move, the Democrats accused Republicans of recruiting “hate groups” to perform the audit. The court did not accept their bogus argument.

Elon Musk has admitted that “a bunch of people will probably die” in the race to get to Mars. The SpaceX pioneer made his blunt prediction as he laughed at how his planned Mars mission was being seen as “some escape hatch for rich people.”“You might die, it’s going to be uncomfortable and probably won’t have good food,” Musk told Peter Diamandis, the founder and chairman of the X Prize Foundation for scientific discovery.Advertisements for the journey should note how it will be an “arduous and dangerous journey where you may not come back alive,”

An Oscars unlike any before will get underway Sunday night, with history on the line in major categories and a telecast retooled for the pandemic. The 93rd Academy Awards will begin at 8 p.m. EDT on ABC. There will be no host, no audience, nor face masks for nominees attending the ceremony at Los Angeles’ Union Station — this year’s hub for a show usually broadcast from the Dolby Theatre. In contrast with the largely virtual Golden Globes, Zoom boxes have been closed out — though numerous international hubs and satellite feeds will connect nominees unable to travel.Show producers are hoping to return some of the traditional glamor to the Oscars,

On Saturday’s broadcast of the Fox News Channel’s “Fox & Friends,” House Minority Whip Steve Scalise (R-LA) reacted to the Washington Post’s fact-check article on Sen. Tim Scott’s (R-SC) family history by saying that “there is nothing that scares the left more than a conservative African American leader who’s gaining respect nationally, on his own, not pushing the false narrative of the left, but talking about individual opportunity.”
Scalise said, “Tim Scott’s a wonderful person, a dear friend. But he’s also a rising star, and there is nothing that scares the left more than a conservative African American leader who’s gaining respect nationally,

Writer Salena Zito best described the Rorschach test that Donald Trump represented. As she put it in 2016, “The press takes him literally, but not seriously; his supporters take him seriously, but not literally.” Now comes another presidential dilemma: What to make of the new and radical Joe Biden? On the surface, it seems an odd question about a 78-year-old man who has spent nearly 50 years in Washington. But the new Biden, the President Biden, doesn’t sound and act like the former senator and vice president. In fact, this Biden is so dramatically different that it’s not clear if we should take him either seriously or literally.
