On Saturday’s broadcast of the Fox News Channel’s “Fox & Friends,” House Minority Whip Steve Scalise (R-LA) reacted to the Washington Post’s fact-check article on Sen. Tim Scott’s (R-SC) family history by saying that “there is nothing that scares the left more than a conservative African American leader who’s gaining respect nationally, on his own, not pushing the false narrative of the left, but talking about individual opportunity.” Scalise said, “Tim Scott’s a wonderful person, a dear friend. But he’s also a rising star, and there is nothing that scares the left more than a conservative African American leader who’s gaining respect nationally,

Maybe, maybe not. The blacks were lukewarm to Dr. Ben Carson and Herman Cain who were prime examples of what is possible if you are black. They prefer somebody like Al Sharpton to Dr. Thomas Sowell. I think brains, charm and common sense may be a little scary to them.

Scott is one of my senators but I have mixed feelings about him, primarily because when President Trump needed his support after the fraudulent election and the January 6 rally, (note that I did not call it a protest, riot or insurrection) Scott was nowhere to be found.

I have nothing against Tim Scott, but why do I have to be told he is black every time. I do not need that information, anymore than I need to be told Scalise is white. If you have something germain and informative, I will listen. (I see the editor thinks germain is obsolete and has red lined me. Well there's this, I am still around and living, and I suppose i would be listed as obsolete by the editor. Get a life, editor).

Tim Scott is no rising star. As poster #2 said, he didn't support the President, so he will never get my support again, no matter who's against him. I'm done with Scott, just like I've been done with Lindsey.

There’s believing your own news releases. And then there’s believing your own delusions of grandeur. Joe Biden should look at the mirror every day and see a president elected on the basis of the unpopularity of his predecessor at a time when the country was slammed by a once-in-a-century pandemic. Instead, by every account, he sees a transformative leader with a mandate to change America as rapidly and irreversibly as possible. As the news site Axios noted, Biden wants his next 100 days to be “more audacious” than his first 100, as he seeks “to re-engineer the very fundamentals of America — inequality, voting rights and government’s role

Hundreds of Simon & Schuster employees are demanding the publishing giant not publish any books written by former Trump administration officials. The petition demanding the New York publishing conglomerate to stop treating "the Trump administration as a 'normal' chapter in American history" collected 216 internal signatures, representing approximately 14% of the company's workforce, and support from several thousand nonemployees, according to the Wall Street Journal.
