Sen. Joe Manchin III of West Virginia, perhaps the most important Democratic vote for the Biden administration, said Monday that he hopes Mr. Biden‘s nomination of his wife to a $160,000-a-year post “goes through well.” “That’s great,” Mr. Manchin told reporters upon learning that the president formally nominated Gayle Connelly Manchin to serve as federal co-chair of the Appalachian Regional Commission. “I hope to see she goes through well. Everybody seems to know her pretty well.”(Snip) Given the Democrats’ narrow control of the 50-50 Senate, Mr. Manchin‘s role as a self-described “moderate to conservative Democrat” is pivotal over the Biden

Comments:

I bet he does. Why does even a penny of "federal" tax money fund fat salaries for a regional commission that most New Americans don't know exists? "Public service" was never intended to be a way to become wealthy.

The gunman in the FedEx shooting spree was previously known to federal and local authorities—and had been flagged up to law enforcement by a concerned family member before the deadly attack, according to a report Friday. The suspect, who committed suicide after killing eight at the Indiana facility Thursday night, has not been publicly identified by police. But CNN reporter Ana Cabrera said he’s no stranger to law enforcement. “Authorities were warned about FedEx suspect’s potential for violence in the past, sources say,” Cabrera tweeted. “The suspect in the Indianapolis mass shooting was known to federal and local authorities prior to the attack.”

How did this happen? How did the nation go in an instant from disbelieving every utterance of Donald Trump to robotically repeating — and acting on — every claim that falls out of Joe Biden’s mouth, no matter how disconnected from the truth? The most glaring example involves Biden’s fact-challenged tirade against Georgia’s new voting law. At his first and only press conference, Biden declared the state’s efforts to protect against voter fraud were worse than Jim Crow, “un-American,” “sick,” and “despicable.” (This was the same press conference where moments later Biden bragged about how much time he’s spent with China’s genocidal communist dictator before calling him “a smart, smart guy.”)

A women’s publication called Evie has caught up with the fact that a study from last year found that over half of white, Democrat women have been diagnosed at one time or another with a mental health problem. I’m not at all surprised.
