Governor Gretchen Whitmer (D-MI) said Sunday on CBS’s “Face the Nation” that she is “seeing a surge “of coronavirus cases despite having very strict controls on her population in the name of COVID-19 mitigation. Partial transcript as follows: MARGARET BRENNAN, HOST CBS’S “FACE THE NATION”: Governor, you have publicly called for a surge of vaccine doses to your state, but the White House’s COVID response coordinator, Jeff Zients, as we played at the top of the show, shot that down. Does this- I mean does this offer that they’re giving you of vaccinators, of resources make up for the fact that they’re not charging you doses?

That’s because masks and restrictions on gathering and social distancing do not work to prevent someone from catching the flu

I honestly believe it is the "fear factor" (which is exactly what despot dictator-wanna-be lie-berals, like Gov. Whitmer, are using this for). The more you scare people, the more stressed they get, and so naturally they are more susceptible to getting ill from this stupid virus. Stress is not a good thing -- unless you want to control the peasants. In Texas and Florida, where the governors did away with the mask mandates, we are much more relaxed, and so naturally we are not getting sick at nearly the numbers they have in the concentration camp states like Michigan!!!

Yes, Florida doesn't have a Mask Mandate. But everyone here is still wearing a mask, against their wishes, because Businesses are allowed to demand a mask be worn to gain entry! I wish Gov. DeSantis could, or would, shoot that down! I wish he would sign an Executive Order making it illegal for Businesses to DEMAND masks for entry. You would see those masks in Trash Cans all over Florida the minute he did that!

We've all seen the videos: masks don't work. They leak out top, bottom and sides with every breath. Mandates lead to a false sense of security. Too many people out and about as if just having a mask will magically keep them safe, like garlic and vampires. Herd immunity is kept at bay by heavy, widespread mask mandates. Only the people who are at risk, especially high risk, should wear masks on a need to wear basis, along with limiting their time in the risk arena.

How many of these people are REALLY sick, or just tested positive? Plus, how accurate are the tests? How many people tested just got the vaccine, and tested positive as a result. That happened to my nephew. Two days later, he tested negative. Lock downs don't work. Masks don't work. Social distancing doesn't work. Herd immunity works. So let's herd together.

Amid all the talk of boycotts and corporate criticism of election bills going through the Texas Legislature, major resistance is shaping up to another top priority of Republican state lawmakers. With the Texas Senate set to debate a bill to ban transgender girls from competing in girls’ interscholastic sports, the NCAA recently issued a warning that it is watching the legislation. NCAA policies allow transgender athletes to participate without limitation. “The NCAA continues to closely monitor state bills that impact transgender student-athlete participation,” NCAA officials said in a statement to the Houston Chronicle. “The NCAA believes in fair and respectful student-athlete participation at all levels of sport. Joe Biden handed Kamala Harris the job of "point person" for the border crisis on March 24, and for three weeks now, she's been AWOL. She's an embarrassment to the Biden administration at this point, as New York Post columnist Miranda Devine notes, pointing to the growing severity of the crisis. Joe, in fact, actually created the crisis, first by incentivizing child migration with a vow that no illegal child migrant, even one brimming with COVID, could ever be sent back, and bringing back catch-and-release for everyone else. Biden's also suspended construction of the border wall, which has turned into a gift to the human smuggling rackets. He's rescinded

When we look out on the world scene and how the Biden Administration is positioning itself, everyone should keep in mind the summary statement of former Defense Secretary and CIA director Robert Gates (no one’s idea of a partisan firebrand, as he’s been serving presidents of both parties since the Carter Administration): Joe Biden, Gates said, “has been wrong on nearly every major foreign policy and national security issue over the past four decades.” Why would Biden change now? Two circumstances need close attention. The first is China, where the Chinese military is stepping up military exercises in close proximity to Taiwan. Is this a prelude to an invasion?

Biden created a crisis at the border after President Donald Trump had fixed it through almost sheer force of will, despite Democrats trying to check him at every turn. He called election integrity measures “anti-undemocratic.” “The gathering was an enthusiastic voluntary statement of defiance against threats of reprisals for exercising their patriotic voices,” Sonnenfeld told CBS News. The focus of President Joe Biden’s $2.3 trillion infrastructure bill is allegedly to address aging infrastructure across the country, but the massive bill covers a vast amount of other spending, including money for “diversifying” neighborhoods. This portion of Biden’s American Jobs Plan would change zoning laws to end single family home neighborhoods and allow for multiple unit “affordable” or low-income rental housing. According to the White House Fact Sheet, the housing effort is “an innovative new approach to eliminate state and local exclusionary zoning laws, which drive up the cost of construction and keep families from moving to neighborhoods with more opportunities

Much has been made on the right about the decision by Major League Baseball to move the All-Star game from Atlanta to Denver, ostensibly in “solidarity” with those opposed to the changes in election law passed by the GOP-controlled legislature. I was critical of the decision at the time, and remain critical of the explanation that was given — essentially that the State of Georgia had sought to wrongfully suppress the ability of minority voters to cast ballots. Most objective analyses of the Georgia law show that the changes put in place bring Georgia in line with many other states and that there are Democrat-controlled

As a senator, he defended the Hyde Amendment, which protects pro-life taxpayers from footing the bill for something they consider to be murder.
