Amid all the talk of boycotts and corporate criticism of election bills going through the Texas Legislature, major resistance is shaping up to another top priority of Republican state lawmakers.
With the Texas Senate set to debate a bill to ban transgender girls from competing in girls’ interscholastic sports, the NCAA recently issued a warning that it is watching the legislation. NCAA policies allow transgender athletes to participate without limitation.
“The NCAA continues to closely monitor state bills that impact transgender student-athlete participation,” NCAA officials said in a statement to the Houston Chronicle. “The NCAA believes in fair and respectful student-athlete participation at all levels of sport. The association’s transgender

Texas is a big enough state not to need the NCAA. We would be better off without them. The universities want to be members so they can get more tv money, build more buildings, pay themselves larger salaries, and import more foreign students, as American citizens cannot afford them.

The NCAA should focus on sports--not social issues, gender issues, or other woke causes. They forced North Dakota to change their mascot name from the Fighting Sioux, but backed off from the Florida State Seminoles because they were not afraid to take on a small state, but Florida scared them. Don't mess with Texas.

How about if the States begin regulating the NCAA right out of existence. The make billions on the backs of teenagers and their dreams, then crush them with bs rules and regulations. The NCAA is simply another legalized criminal enterprise.

There's something very creepy about the NCAA "warning" our ELECTED representatives to comply with demands harmful to female athletes.
There is no legitimate reason for requiring women to "compete" against men pretending to be women, nor is it appropriate for women to be forced to "share" bathrooms, dressing rooms, locker rooms or showers with naked men.

So the businesses and other groups are now the elected officials. And they're telling us how we need to run our lives. Sure hope Texas doesn't cave or they'll be asking for much more next time. It would be great if Texas pulls all NCAA sports funding for a year or two.

Women claim EQALITY...let them have it. One Division for college sports. Anyone good enough to make the team on merit...everyone else can play in a dingy gym or sandlot for fun. Time to restore sanity to all this. BTW: Did you know the Olympics no longer has any effective separation of gender? As Casey Stengel said, look it up. The World Sporting Court effectively wiped the slate clean a few years ago.

So, the NCAA wants to start a money war.
If enough States enact these laws, more than enough teams to hold the actual Men’s or Woman’s championship tournaments.
Time to fight this ignorance.

The NCAA only cares about one thing: $$$$$$$$!!!
They need the big Texas schools (like national basketball champion Baylor, UT, A&M, Texas Tech and U of H) far more than those schools need the NCAA.
If Texas stands firm, watch the NCAA fold like a wet deck of cards!!!

The obvious reply of Texas is an antitrust lawsuit against the NCAA, asking the court to assess damages and to order a breakup of the NCAA. It would be a wonderful thing to watch discovery and the drama of a trial. Better than football, basketball and baseball combined.

How about a new college sports organization being formed?
Call it the Normal College Sports Association ....NCSA. And the slogans just write themselves.
"Where men are men and women are women."
"Where women only compete against real women"
"Where men can't compete against women in sports"
