Supreme Court Rules Against California's
Limits On In-Home Religious Gatherings

Original Article

Posted By: Black Conservative Voice, 4/10/2021 6:41:56 AM

The U.S. Supreme Court in a divided decision late Friday ruled in favor of lifting restrictions on in-home religious gatherings, overturning a lower court ruling that upheld Gov. Gavin Newsom’s limits on people from different homes. The 5-4 unsigned ruling follows other similar decisions recently regarding churches and the coronavirus pandemic. The decision noted it was the fifth time the court has rejected the Ninth Circuit’s analysis of California coronavirus restrictions. Chief Justice John Roberts dissented but did not sign the dissenting statement submitted by justices Elena Kagan, Sonia Sotomayor and Stephen Breyer.

Comments:

Good something is finally happening in California. But it shouldn't have to take the supreme court to make a decision like this. This was a 5 to 4 ruling. Religious freedom is under fire.

We shouldn't even need this decision. The whole thing was a great big scam to take away more of our freedoms more quickly. Prevent treatment of any illness and you will get a pandemic.

Is the Supreme Court really a "Court" any more? Isn't it actually a Supreme Subcommittee of Congress now? Completely political and split consistently along "liberal and kinda-sorta-sometimes-conservative" lines.

#7, they are anti-American communists who rule based on their own ideologies and ignore the Constitution. A little anecdote...back in 1842 my great great grandfather and his brother started the first synagogue in Boston by holding services in their living room. If they tried that today, the atheists who run Massachusetts would surely put a stop to it. Have you noticed that the mosques are still operating at full capacity and have never been subjected to the covid restrictions? What does that tell you?

As protests broke out across the country in the name of Black Lives Matter, the group’s co-founder went on a real estate-buying binge, snagging four high-end homes for $3.2 million in the US alone, according to property records. Patrisse Khan-Cullors, 37, also eyed property in the Bahamas at an ultra-exclusive resort where Justin Timberlake and Tiger Woods both have homes, The Post has learned. Luxury apartments and townhouses at the beachfront Albany resort outside Nassau are priced between $5 million and $20 million, according to a local agent.

Donors to the Republican National Committee gathered this weekend for the first time since Donald Trump’s defeat just down the road from his Mar-a-Lago home — a sign that the institutions of the party remain centered around the former president. The bulk of the RNC’s spring retreat took place a 10-minute drive south of Trump’s club, at Palm Beach’s Four Seasons resort. There, around 360 donors mingled poolside at the beachfront hotel with Republican officials, including chairwoman Ronna McDaniel and co-chair Tommy Hicks. But on Saturday night, guests were shuttled up the road to Mar-a-Lago, where Trump addressed the retreat behind closed doors.

The White House on Tuesday said that "limited" additional wall construction has been funded, despite an overall pause in construction -- after a report that the head of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) had said "gaps" in the wall could still be filled. "Wall construction remains paused to the extent permitted by law. So some has already been funded through congressional authorization and funding allocation," White House press secretary Jen Psaki said Tuesday.

Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas told employees, according to the Washington Times, that construction might resume to plug 'gaps' in the current barrier between the U.S. and Mexico. The move comes as Biden made a big spectacle on Day One of his administration by issuing an executive order freezing Department of Defense funding for border wall construction.

Joe Biden may have been something like a moderate, once. As a senator, he defended the Hyde Amendment, which protects pro-life taxpayers from footing the bill for something they consider to be murder. Senator Biden also voted for the Religious Freedom Restoration Act (RFRA) in 1993. Even as late as 2003, Biden voted for a bill to prohibit partial-birth and late-term abortion. Biden did indeed work with Republicans to pass legislation. In 1987, Biden condemned Franklin Delano Roosevelt’s scheme to pack the Supreme Court to support the New Deal. Alas, that Joe Biden is nowhere to be found in the White House.

Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin is determined to root out “extremism” from the ranks of the military. He has just concluded a 60-day series of “listening sessions” dealing with the question of how he should go about the task of cleansing the armed forces of bad thoughts and is now ready to begin implementing programs and policies to that end. But Austin has a huge problem. He has to be able to define “extremism” in such a way as to safeguard our constitutional liberties while rooting out the skinheads, the Klan members, the gangbangers, and violent revolutionaries that make up a small but significant fraction of the armed forces. What is “extremism”?
