Senator Joe Manchin (D., W.Va.) said he would oppose raising the corporate tax rate to 28 percent, a key component of the Biden administration’s infrastructure bill, in a radio interview with West Virginia’s Metro News.
“As the bill exists today, it needs to be changed,” Manchin told host Hoppy Kercheval. The senator added that he could support raising the corporate tax rate to 25 percent, but not to 28 percent as envisioned in the bill, because it would hurt the country’s market competitiveness.

We are often told to "follow the science." This is true of wearing masks, how we teach children to read, and addressing the perils of climate change. So we should probably better do the same with the economy, no?
Consider the new Congressional Budget Office report on that very thing, the budget, the economy, and how we tax it. Let's assume that we want the Federal government to spend lots more money on infrastructure. I don't, because I'm certain that the money will be sprayed up the wall like the last few trillions were.
Publix, the leading grocery chain in Florida, sharply denied the false impression made by CBS News’s 60 Minutes — that its pharmacies were tapped to distribute the vaccine, in part, because of a sizeable donation to the governor’s campaign — dismissing the narrative as “irresponsible,” as well as “absolutely false and offensive.”
“The irresponsible suggestion that there was a connection between campaign contributions made to Governor DeSantis and our willingness to join other pharmacies in support of the state’s vaccine distribution efforts is absolutely false and offensive,” the grocery chain said in a Monday statement.

The left are terrified of Ron DeSantis, and that was never made more apparent than how 60 Minutes chose to handle the supposed “scandals” surrounding Florida’s vaccine program. RedState initially covered the absurdity last night. As Jennifer Van Laar put it in her write-up, the memo has gone out to destroy DeSantis, facts be damned.
While 60 Minutes attempted to make it seem like DeSantis had been paid off to allow Publix to host early, pop-up vaccination sites, the truth is much more mundane. You see, Publix has over 800 locations in Florida and also has large facilities and parking lots, a combination unmatched by smaller stores like CVS and Walgreens.
Not just “absolute malarkey” either, but dishonest absolute malarkey. CBS News’ 60 Minutes tried to paint Florida’s partnership with supermarket giant Publix as a kind of payoff for campaign contributions in a segment last night targeting Governor Ron DeSantis. Its centerpiece came in this clip from a press conference, in which the show’s correspondent tried to confront DeSantis over the issue. Twitter’s abuse of the sensitive content filter is another form of censorship and the company uses it a huge amount. Twitter deployed it to reduce the reach and engagement of at least 350 conservative accounts in the past year.
That tally comes from the Media Research Center’s CensorTrack.org. That’s likely only scratching the surface, given the amount of content on Twitter. While Twitter has not released information on how the use of the sensitive content filter restricts engagement, Facebook has said that the use of similar interstitials has reduced user clicks by 95 percent.
Sen. Raphael Warnock (D-GA), who was a prominent Atlanta preacher before he was elected to the Senate, deleted a tweet on Easter Sunday that drew allegations of heresy.

Donald Trump is encouraging people to boycott companies and organizations that cave to, or do the bidding of, the left. He mentioned by name Major League Baseball, Coca-Cola, Delta Airlines, JPMorgan Chase, ViacomCBS, Citigroup, Cisco, UPS, and Merck.
Trump said:

Wyoming Sen. John Barrasso, the third-ranking Republican in the Senate, on Sunday said he was told to delete photos of migrant facilities at the border — as he claimed children are being packed “like sardines” inside.
“This is both a humanitarian crisis and a national security crisis,” Barrasso said during an interview on Fox News.
Barrasso said on “Sunday Morning Futures” that GOP senators were told by officials to delete photos they took of the facilities during a recent visit to the US-Mexico border.

Over the weekend, Michael Smerconish demonstrated that his Saturday morning show is one of the few islands of credible journalism at CNN as he debunked some of the lies spouted liberals -- including journalists on his own network -- who have attacked Georgia's new voting law as "voter suppression,"
The Smerconish show began with the host putting into context the state's new rules designed to prevent political groups from using food and water distribution as a loophole to approach voters in line and underhandedly push their candidates. He went on to admit that he has changed his mind on the law after learning more about it.

With the MLB pulling the all-star game out of Georgia, the questions for Democrats are piling up. Specifically, what exactly did they accomplish by lying about the election reform bill except costing Georgia business owners over $100 million in revenue?
Stacey Abrams has been the least self-aware in the aftermath, claiming that she’s not to blame despite clearly being to blame (see Stacey Abrams Shows Zero Self-Awareness in Pretending She’s Not to Blame for MLB Boycott). Others like Raphael Warnock haven’t even tried to pretend they don’t the result.
Of course, it wasn’t just Georgia-centric figures in the mix here. Joe Biden also voiced his support for the boycott
