Former Democratic gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams has urged people not to boycott Georgia, but Sen. Rand Paul says she and other Democrats are squarely to blame for Major League Baseball’s decision to pull the All-Star Game out of Atlanta. The founder of Fair Fight, Ms. Abrams led the charge against Senate Bill 202, the Georgia election law that requires identification for absentee ballots, expands early voting and bans electioneering within 150 feet of polling entrances, calling it “Jim Crow 2.0.” “There’s all these people who are woke, but now even the woke like Stacey Abrams, are starting to see, oh, no what have I unleashed?

A homeless man giving directions inside a Manhattan subway station was punched out, stomped and robbed by a rival trying to sell illegal MetroCard swipes, police said Tuesday. Police identified the suspect as Ronald Bailey, 52, a repeat transit offender with more than 30 prior arrests. Bailey got angry because he was trying to sell swipes—discounted entries into the subway system using a doctored MetroCard—and felt the victim, also 52, was getting in the way, according to cops. Bailey allegedly floored his rival with a left hook on the mezzanine level of the subway station at Seventh Ave. and W. 34th St.

Homeland Security has removed the press release announcing the arrest of two Yemeni men on the terrorist watch list. The release was posted Monday, but by Tuesday morning it was no longer available. An archived version is still available at the Internet Archive. The deletion sparked questions on Capitol Hill. “Why did you take down your previously public tweet & press release announcing that two people on the terror watch list were apprehended exploiting President Biden’s open border policies?” demanded the Republicans on the House Homeland Security Committee. “Transparency in name alone is not transparency,” said the Republicans, who are led by ranking member Rep. John Katko.

Navy Seabees have built Vice President Kamala Harris her own version of the Resolute desk made out of materials from historic U.S. warships. Harris' desk, which sits in her office in the West Wing of the White House, was put together using wood, copper and nails taken from the USS Constitution, which was commissioned under George Washington in 1794. The USS Constitution is one of the country's first frigates and is the oldest commissioned warship still afloat. It was launched in 1797 in Boston, Massachusetts, and now sits in Baltimore Harbor. Harris' desk has carvings of an eagle surrounded by stars from the Constitution's stern decorations.

As many as 246 Michigan residents considered fully vaccinated against COVID-19 were later diagnosed with the virus, and three have died, state officials confirmed Monday. The cases were reported between Jan. 1 and March 31, and the 246 had a positive test 14 or more days after the last dose in the vaccine series, said Lynn Sutfin, a spokeswoman for the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, in an email. "Some of these individuals may ultimately be excluded from this list due to continuing to test positive from a recent infection prior to being fully vaccinated," she said. "These cases are undergoing further review

A 75-year-old woman who was randomly slugged in the face by a man in upper Manhattan is a retired crime reporter—and is now calling on city officials to do something about the Big Apple’s growing mental health crisis. Judith Thomas, a former Channel 9 reporter, was sporting a massive bruise on her face Monday, along with swollen cheeks and lips, a day after she was sucker-punched in broad daylight. “We do not have enough mental health facilities for these people,” Thomas told The Post. “Somebody like this should be at a mental health facility and on medication because nobody does this.

Dr. Anthony Fauci said Monday that the US government will not require Americans to use vaccine passports to prove they’ve been immunized against the coronavirus. The director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases said the federal government “may be involved in making sure things are done fairly and equitably.” “But I doubt if the federal government is gonna be the leading element of that,” Fauci told the “Politico Dispatch” podcast. Fauci said he expects certain businesses and educational institutions to be the ones to create their own policies about vaccination. “I’m not saying that they should or that they would,

Experts say Covid-19 vaccinations in the US are going extremely well -- but not enough people are protected yet and the country may be at the start of another surge. The US reported a record over the weekend with more than 4 million Covid-19 vaccine doses administered in 24 hours, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.(Snip) The highly contagious B.1.1.7 variant has fueled an alarming rise in Covid-19 cases and hospitalizations in parts of Europe.
