According to the article, the cause of death was not immediately known. However, Gateway Pundit reports that he was in ICU days after taking a COVID vaccine. For some reason, FOX didn't mention that. We just attended a virtual service for a friend in California. He was in good health and 64 years old when the first shot was administered. Five days later he was in ICU. I am not an anti-vaxer and I am not asserting that this is proof that the vaccine is a bad thing. Correlation is not causation. However, it is obvious that detrimental data on the vaccines will be withheld by government, news authorities and social media. Facing that reality, all we have left is anecdotal information.

Terrible news. He was my absolute favorite fighter. Take a look at his fight vs Hearns- probably the greatest sustained 5//6 minutes of fighting ever. He was so hacked off after he was robbed and jobbed by Leonard that he never fought again. Leonard danced his way to a title. Marvelous Marvin was a great champion- RIP.

One of the Non-Olympian boxer who earned his stripes by shear will of life. His message was clear "Do What You Love." I often think "Rocky" lines came from his life. From Wiki, Joe Frazier told Hagler, "You have three strikes against you, "You're black, you're a southpaw, and you're good."

The 80s were certainly the glory days of professional boxing. Hagler, Leonard, Hearns, Commacho,Duran. I was fortunate to have been a fan in those days. Now it seems like the bouts are akin to All Star Wrasslin'.
I blame Mike Tyson for most of that.

OP makes the same false statement they made on the other Hagler thread. Hagler and Antuofermo fought to a draw in their first meeting. One that taught Hagler a lesson: To beat a Champion you must knock him out. Hagler CLEARLY won their first bout, as well as the second, but the underworld prevailed that day. The fight was ruled a tie.

Simply the best ever. One of my friends knew I loved Marvin. I went to the Hearns/Duran fight and told him I had never seen anyone that punched as hard a Hearns. My friend asked me, “ now that you saw Hearns do you take him over Hagler” I thought hard and said, Marvin will find a way to win! I was right. With many fighters, you would wonder what shape they would be in. With Hagler, you never had to wonder. I did meet face to face with Hearns later at a party and told him I watched him beat Duran with the hardest body punch I had ever seen. He gave me a huge hug and said that was the greatest moment of his

Marvin was a great champion - - but he met his match the first time he fought my fellow Brooklynite - - Vito Antuofermo - - the world middleweight champion. Vito won easily - - but in a rematch - - Marvin won by TKO. Let's honor Marvin - - but let's not forget Vito - - the man who handed Marvin his first defeat.
