WASHINGTON – Senate Democrats reached a deal with President Joe Biden to limit the eligibility for $1,400 stimulus checks in his $1.9 trillion COVID relief bill, phasing the payments out for Americans earning over $80,000, according to two sources familiar with the deliberations not authorized to speak on the record. The tweak is a key goal of moderates who did not want the checks to go to wealthier Americans
The stimulus checks would phase out entirely at $80,000 of income for individuals, as opposed to about $100,000 in the version of the legislation passed by the House last week. Joint filers would have their checks phase out entirely at $160,000.

Not going to accept the payment if it comes in the form of a government debit card, which serves to condition recipients to paying in the fashion of welfare and food stamps. That's the manner in which their second "stimulus" payment recently was made to me, which I have not activated because I am simply not going there.

They just didn't want any money to go to middle class people, but lower class, on the dole, people is just fine...there is so much pork in that bill they ought to use it to light a fire in a fireplace somewhere...my great great great grandchildren will still be paying for this if there is even a Republic left to generate tax money...

I never got the $600 and reported it on my IRS form so I got a letter yesterday telling me it will be deposited in my bank account like a SS payment. We'll see!

It’s really in purely political terms kind of a joke on the Stupid Party, as it stands now people who are reliable Republican voters will end up with less or no stimulus money, while more reliable Democrat voters are going to end up with a lot more stimulus money when you add in all the enhanced credits. So why would Biden not go along with such a good deal for the Democrats and their voters?
That’s essentially why both of the Republican candidates lost their elections in the Georgia Senate runoffs as the Stupid Party through McConnell, a multimillionaire with close Chinese family ties, was out there offering the people, many of who were down in the dumps financially because of COVID a stimulus payment of only $600.00, while the Democrats promised a $2,000.00. Don’t think that the wimpy Republicans are not a joke?

I have a better idea. Give American taxpayers all the money that’s going to the Chinese Communist Party.

This is why the "insurrection" really should have finished the job...they just delayed the inevitable.
Convince me I'm wrong.

I received a card and was able to withdraw the money at an ATM. And as long as you use the correct ATM, there are no fees.

DH and I are retired. Our income hasn't gone down during the pandemic. Son and DIL have worked from home. THEIR income hasn't gone down. My niece's welfare queen friend's income hasn't gone down. Payments should ONLY go to those who have lost income because--through no fault of their own--lost jobs, paychecks, and/or businesses because of stupid government decisions. NONE of the rest of us, including welfare recipients, should get one thin dime.

The "Massive Lie-Beral Pork (with a tiny bit of Covid relief) Bill" needs to die today!!!!
If any Republi-Can't in the Senate has even a tiny bit of spine left, he/she will use every trick in the book to kill this!!!

Less than 10% of that 1.9 Trillion dollar bill goes for Covid, the rest is giving the dems money to toss to their friends.

Based on income what year? 2018, 2019, 2020? Just because income was one amount one year does not mean that it stayed the same the next (thanks to government forced lockdowns). As usual incomplete reporting probably due to incomplete bill from Congress who should have finished and passed this when Trump was still President!

In reference to post #6 above. Since the bottom line on the Democrat big spending bill is still going to be 1.9 trillion dollars. During reported negotiations with the Democrats, what have the wimpy Republicans accomplished by suggesting that stimulus money be "targeted" away from likely Republican voters including a lot of small business owners, other then shoot themselves in the foot again? With that money now being directed to reliable Democrat voters, and illegal aliens, who will now receive enhanced stimulus money. Remember when they figure incomes for stimulus money they are going to use people's 2019 federal tax returns covering the tax year 2019 that ended before COVID was discovered in the USA. So those returns will not show the small business owners diminished incomes caused by COVID related shutdowns during 2020. Bottom line, another instance of the wimpy all talk and no action Republicans not looking out for their voters, while the Democrats have been doing the exact opposite.

Is it still 1.9 trillion? Seems there's been some cutting going on in the Senate. Maybe they can get this down to about a few hundred million.

So, I'll get the next check. I can't decide whether to buy a few new guns or send it all to Trump. Either one would anger them greatly, and please me even more.
Idiots. Evil, destructive idiots.

Buy standing liberty one ounce silver coins, or one ounce gold standing liberty coins.
That is what I do.

They can stick their stimulus checks where the sun doesn't shine. Just open up the economy and quit killing American jobs.
