Congressional Democrats are demanding to know what communications giants such as Comcast and AT&T are going to do about “the spread of dangerous misinformation.” How quickly this country is descending into an authoritarian regime where the government controls speech and the flow of information. Ahead of a House Energy and Commerce Committee hearing Wednesday, California Democratic Reps. Anna G. Where, oh where, is a Republican Congressperson writing a letter to the cable companies demanding removal of CNN, MSNBC, ABC, etc. for 'disinformation'? We had better learn to play by the new rules.

This attitude and this toxic world view has existed in our country for a long time. PDT has smoked them out. There is no more pretense, euphemisms, dodging around definitions. The enemy has revealed himself Their taking over of language was ignored or belittled at first. But that is where it starts. Sex becomes gender, illegal aliens become become undocumented migrants, mothers become womyn caregivers. This is the simply the next stage of this slippery slope.

How is this not GOVERNMENT suppression of free speech? Their response typically is that private entities are not bound by free speech rules. However when the federal government uses its regulatory and financial power to force private entities to do the suppression for them, it is de facto government suppression.

The problem with "disinformation" is that it is extremely difficult to define. These two Representatives seem to think that it is anything that they do not agree with. What a Democrat thinks is fake info and a Republican thinks of the same info may be polar opposites. That does not make the information false or disinformation. I could consider most of what is on CNN and MSNBC disinformation because I do not agree with their point of view. However, I am not calling for them to taken off the air (losing a few of their TV personalities would be good though). These Reps must tread lightly so as not to shred the First Amendment right to free speech. Of course, they are Democrats, and to them, the First Amendment only applies to speech that they agree with.

This is the government trying to actively deny free speech. If it goes through there could be lawsuits going all the way to the Supreme Court. How confident are you in how that vote would go?

I pay for my food mask-ish and walk out the door mask-less with MY food. . They have not yet refused me admittance to BUY FOOD. At a 2% margin they REALLY don't want me to go to HEB. Proposal ... The Democrats' $1.9 trillion stimulus bill is a monster of public spending with the prime aim of rewarding political cronies. Free-spending blue cities and states get bailouts, along with unions with mismanaged gold-plated pensions for their members. The losers, of course, are the savers and taxpayers. That's because it won't be long before Argentina-style inflation and Europe-style taxes kick in to pay for these benefits to leftists. The only hope is to grow the economy so that the debt can be paid, which is something Americans often know how to do. But unlike other bills, this one contains a poison pill, to ensure that red states and cities inclined to cut taxes

Most people are canny enough to know that when someone advertises himself or herself as a certain kind of thing, the opposite is likely to be the case. Think: "Honest John's Used Cars." "Mom's Cooking." "We're from the government and we're here to help." "I'm a lady." Which brings us to Meghan Markle, the Hollywood B-list actress who finagled a role for a couple of years as the Duchess of Sussex. After telling us how selfless she was for ditching the royal family in order to go make money (off of them, no less), including a coming March 8 tell-all interview to Oprah Winfrey, here's the biteback from Buckingham Palace:

The Chinese LGBT community, and the 24-year-old woman who filed the lawsuit, have expressed disappointment at the decision,

The non-partisan Congressional Budget Office released its economic forecast for the next decade. It got little press attention, probably because it completely undermines the arguments for another massive COVID-19 stimulus bill. President Joe Biden and Democrats in Congress continue to portray the economy as deep in a recession. In Wisconsin on Wednesday, for example, Biden said that “Now is the time we should be spending. Now is the time to go big.” But according to the CBO’s economic forecast, real GDP this year will climb by 4.6%. Assuming that holds true, it would be the biggest annual increase in gross

To the extent that Joe Biden drew votes, a very big reason was the expectation from parents and students that he would re-open the public schools, currently on extended shutdown over COVID concerns. That was his promise, that was a signature issue, with many pixels spilled in multiple spots on Biden's campaign website supporting the claim that he was serious about re-opening schools. Now that he's in office, too bad for those who actually believed him. Instead of re-opening the schools, Biden's re-drawn himself a goal line for school re-opening so pathetic, so wretched, so insignificant it's actually lower than what's already going on now in school reopenings.

It recognizes the virus once a person is infected and attaches to it, preventing the pathogen from entering human cells, and therefore neutralizing it. In trial data released on Wednesday, Eli Lilly said the combination reduced the risk of hospitalization and death by 87 percent compared to a placebo. The results are an improvement of an earlier study of the combination, which reduced the risk of hospitalization and death by 70 percent.

This will criminalize an individual who sells a 5-shot revolver to a lifelong neighbor, unless that neighbor first undergoes a National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) check, conducted by the FBI.
