Republican lawmakers in the House introduced legislation last week dubbed the OMAR Act to address the circumstances surrounding Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) paying her husband’s consulting firm $2.8 million during her campaign for a House seat.
Conservative congressmembers filed a complaint with the Federal Election Commission (FEC) and now hope to prohibit enriching relatives through the campaigning process.
The effort is window dressing in her case, the attempt to prohibit such hiring practices. As much help as a finger bandage on a compound fracture. Nice, relatively safe proposal but of no help in today’s country, but the Republicants are trying. Very trying.

Biden set up Doctor Jill to do the same thing in Delaware. AOC is supporting her deadbeat boyfriend in Washington, although putting up with her every day may be considered a job. Then there is Butt-Judge supporting his sweetheart. Why pick on one?

Instead, how about forcing her to return all of the cash to her donors, arresting her for immigration fraud and deporting her back to Somalia? Her new hubby can go with her and watch her being stoned to death for adultery.

Please, what difference would it make? (more hard-driving legislation from the GOP)

It has no chance of passing. Republicans are no less profiteering for their campaign war chests than the Dems. This stuff is old hat. It isn't going anywhere.

Another kabuki Bill that will go nowhere. How about introducing a Bill like this when you actually have control of the House and Senate so you can get it passed.

I thought that was part of the FEC campaign finance rules from long long ago? The same rules that NEVER get enforced? Why does Congress always crank out more "laws" that they know in advance won't ever be enforced?
Congress should instead be DEMANDING the FBI/DOJ/DHS investigate this Muslim witch for felonious fraudulent in filling out her application for immigration and citizenship. She cannot marry her brother in order to gain a sponsor. Any other beast caught doing the same thing would be jailed then DEPORTED back to the hellhole from which they slithered,

There is no chance that democrat lawmakers will eliminate one of the biggest perks of being a “public servant”. May as well try to prevent retired politicians from becoming lobbyists.

why are these idiots always "a day late and a dollar short" on everything. guess it's called governing from the rear and we all know what happens when we pick up the rear in any circumstance.

This move probably won't go anywhere, but at least the acronym is a nice slap in the sneering face of that batch. Who could marry such a person?

Of course it will not only not be passed but it is unlikely it will even be heard. Still, the House Republicans should author such legislation. They should oppose nearly every thing the Biden regime proposes. A plus is that if Republicans do take over the House they are on record of proposing these bills. When they have the power to pass them the voters can hold them accountable if they don’t.

I agree with the spirit of the law but I think a hard look at the finances of the GOP will find much the same. Omar just pushed the dollar amount too far.
