An orthodox priest in western Ohio who has filled in at churches in the Cleveland area has been suspended and could be defrocked after he attended a rally for former President Trump in Washington on Jan. 6 that ended with an assault on the nation’s Capitol, according to reports.
A notice on the website for the Orthodox Church in America says Archpriest Mark Hodges was suspended on Jan. 12. The notice offers no other details.

The Trump rally did not end with an assault on the Capitol. They were two different things, separated by time and distance. As has been explained by eyewitness, if one was at the Trump rally, there was no way you could get to the Capitol in time to "riot" and break things.

I don’t know actual numbers so chime in anytime....Say a million marchers were there and 100 of them went into the capitol......Everyone is guilty??? That’s an awfully broad brush.

The Trump speech was at the Ellipse, directly behind the White House grounds. The Capitol is a 30 minute walk from there for someone in good shape. It definitely wasn't a "Trump Rally At The Capitol" and calling it such is not even misleading -- it is clearly untrue. It is clearly a lie designed to promote the larger "incitement" lie.

I had a relative who is not just athiest, but anti-Christian, post on FB why Trump supporters are bad Christians. Maybe thats the new communist thing. He certainly didnt seem to see the irony.

And thus the lst Amendment to the Constitution, the one our Founders thought singularly important and put it first, is once again trampled upon by virtue signaling idiots.

#8, while I agree with you and no longer attend mass, the Orthodox Church is not the same as the Catholic Church.

And speaking of Churches, did the Catholic St. Matthews Church where Biden preened prior to the ceremony give this pro abortion Catholic Holy Communion? Would not be surprised. After all, Pelosi considers herself a Catholic, is pro abortion and met the Pope! Another reason I am a Christmas Catholic yet pray every day.

Help me remember, was Jesus Christ the guy who preached about exclusivity and driving people away from his tight little band or twelve?

Did he post a list of problems on the door? A Protestant church would probably welcome him.

If all the priest did was attend the rally and take a walk down to the capitol and that's all, he's should learn how to spell the word "Lawsuit" and file a claim. This is outrageous.

#12 and 13, I urge you to find a Traditional Latin Mass to attend. It will make all the difference. Our poor Orthodox brethren, they succumbed to the yoke of tyranny in Russia to some extent. Pray for the Consecration of Russia to the Immaculate Heart as Our Lady of Fatima requested.

We have a friend and his brother arrived at the bottom of the Capital steps. He saw the doors on a mezzanine above open from rhe inside and he knew the young men with weapons, not flag sticks, and helmets under Trump hats and scarfs were an obvious setup. He left before they murdered Ashli but he knew it was a staged "storming" as the Okinawan journalist video shows.

Remember what the "Trump Prophecies" book said... the christian churches have sold their souls to the government by accepting tax considerations...like non-profit... until the churches stand up and say... no more control of the corrupt government politicians... WE the people will give donations to our churches in cash form so no record for the IRS is available ...WE must take back our personal freedoms...my church is filling up... more each Sunday as the people are starting to cross their arms in front and saying..."says who"?

I'll be honest AS an Orthodox Christian. My first gut reaction was horror that he is being so persecuted. It does not surprise me however as most bishops, not all, are political animals first and men of the cloth second. There is a reason why the saints tell us the road to hell is paved with the skulls of bishops. I read more elsewhere and I understand better what happened. It represents the sad state of affairs MOST of us are in now. He is an employee after all. Had my husband gone to the rally and worn his name tag and identified himself with his company and had made a huge deal on social media prior to the the rally, he too would be out of a job. Had this priest not chosen to post so prolifically on social media, had be NOT gone to the rally in his collar (his uniform essentially), had he not made such a spectical of being a politically active priest, which is not allowed in his terms of employment, he probably would have been fine. That he was ratted out by a liberal crazy parishioner is horrible and that woman should seek help, spiritual and mental. And that she wants to remain anonymous for fear of "retribution" is laughable. Guilt and ostracizing is more like it. Interesting that the more Russian of our churches should utilize these KGB informant tactics. Disgusting cowards.
Also, a small note. Learn from your enemies. Black bloc works.

#21- Respectfully disagree that “Orthodox Christians are the ONLY TRUE CHRISTIANS who supported Trump, Melania and faith, decency and honor in America.” According to statistics posted at World Atlas (4/3/19), there are approximately 7,000,000 Orthodox Americans; if the 74,000,000 votes attributed to President Trump are accurate, a vast number of people of faith beyond 7,000,000 Orthodox Christians reflecting decency and honoring America belong to other Christian denominations and resoundingly “supported” President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump.
