You may remember Brendan Eich. He was the brilliant mind behind JavaScript who co-founded Mozilla, and then was forced out as an early victim of cancel culture over his religious views on traditional marriage.
Since then, the Mozilla Foundation has vanished into further obscurity. Hardly anyone uses Firefox. Thunderbird is a disaster.
But Eich rebounded with Brave, a privacy-oriented browser. That's not a unique idea, most alternative browsers to Google's Chrome and whatever Microsoft is calling its browser this week, claim to offer privacy.
But Brave recently had a gamechanger by way of integrating IFPS.

Been on Brave for about 6 months now. and love it. Practically NO pop-ups or ads chasing me down.
Example I bought a set of wheels for the car in November and if I open Google or Bing to this day I get ads trying to sell me the same wheels I bought. On Brave no such thing. DuckDuckGo is also a preferenc.

So, Google buys Brave and folds them into their business model. What then?

I've used brave for over a year. Jumped on the idea as soon as I heard about it...I had dumped Firefox as soon as I read what they did to Eich. More power to him. I don't use google right now. Bing is good... but if Eich comes up with a search engine, it will be better.

I use Brave, used to be Mozilla/Firefox...Brave has a few issues that irritate me. New links can't open in a new Tab and switch there on opening. (Hey Brendan, the FREE code is out there from Firefox...you CAN use it for free you know...

Hardly anyone uses Firefox? I'll bet more people use that than use Brave.
Most of Chrome's user share is Google's version.
I use Brave but it's not as customizable as Firefox.

I've tried Brave, after I heard about Firefox going politically correct, but I don't like its interface. It's hard to use tabs, bookmarks and other features I take for granted on Firefox. So, I uninstalled Brave today and continue to use Firefox until Brave is more user friendly. Never use anything Microsoft if I can help it.

I guess I'm also one of the very few Firefox/Thunderbird types. Like the looks of Brave, but still waiting for RoboForm.

I use Opera on my phone, tablet and desktop. I have since the millennium when the computer geeks at university suggested its use. I use Bing for my search engine and 95% of ads and pop-ups are blocked. I despise Chrome and Google for their nosiness and spy capabilities so any workarounds are good with me!

I have used Brave for about two months. I like it, but it's auto-fill for passwords and user names is weaker. I have up on Firefox a couple of years back because it always froze and stalled my computer if I walked away for more than 20 minutes with a Firefox window open. A hassle.

FTA: "Hardly anyone uses Firefox. Thunderbird is a disaster." I prefer Chrome but use Firefox. So does the author of this post know what he's talking about? Just don't care about the Big Internets spying on me. In fact, I feel sorry for the personnel assigned to tracking me. They are probably suicidal because I am one of the most boring people on Earth. If I were any more boing Oprah would show up to interview me.
