Kansas City, Missouri-based Hallmark is asking Sens. Josh Hawley (R-Missouri) and Roger Marshall (R-Kansas) to return campaign contributions made by its political action committee in the wake of the riot at the U.S. Capitol last week. “Hallmark believes the peaceful transition of power is part of the bedrock of our democratic system, and we abhor violence of any kind,” the company said in a statement confirming the request. “The recent actions of Senators Josh Hawley and Roger Marshall do not reflect our company’s values. As a result, HALLPAC requested Sens. Hawley and Marshall to return all HALLPAC campaign contributions.”

Just tell them to go pound sand and vote for freedom. Trying to buy influence doesn't work when one gives away the game. Keep the money since you will not get any more and nothing you can do will result in more campaign contributions from them.

Walk into a Hallmark store and look at their products; almost everything is from China! There are plenty of cards made in the USA. I hope this goes viral and they tank in sales.

I want my money back for all the Christmas cards I bought, thinking that Hallmark was a company that had values that were pro-family, pro-American. In the past two years, since appointing a new CEO, Hallmark has embraced the leftward, and downward, trends in the culture. Give all of us who believed that Hallmark was one of the good guys our money back - with interest. Besides, how much crap do we really need to buy? Let these corporations sell their worthless products to their new customers. Maybe they can start a new line of cards with a Stalinist theme.

I’m sad to say Hallmark values aren’t all that they pretend to be. In couple of the Christmas movies a supporting cast member, usually a woman, has had a girlfriend or was pursuing one. I guess it’s the times we live in but it still isn’t what their values used to be.

Is anyone keeping an LDotters’ list of companies, products, and services we need to “discontinue”?
I’ll start one. Maybe our Hostess will provide a place where we can access it, and add as needed. If not, I can incorporate into comments every few weeks.
We need to get this ball rolling.

Well I tried to complain to Hallmark Inc. about their Hallmark PAC who was the group that asked for the money back. Anyway is was a little frustrating because now that I don't have a twitter or facebook account I can't just pop out there and leave a complaint. I didn't want to use their customer service email, so I called and after getting out of voice mail jail, I was put on hold for a real person. After waiting my customary 5 minutes max for holding, I hung up.

Of course, I think all rational citizens want a peaceful transfer of Presidential power. But, when I think about that concept, it means much more to me than just handing off the keys of the office to the new guy, and a quick “Have a nice four years” as the parting Exec heads out the door. So many media people and the politicians I see pontificating on TV seem to almost trivialize the process and the awesome implications of the event, and want to just get it over with without serious reflection. So many things can go awry, in the sense of working against the American people and damaging the Republic. It seems to me that the following are just the BASIC requirements that must be present before the Presidential helm should be handed off to ANYONE:
1) a competent and coherent incoming Executive and administration with clear general goals that have been persuasively revealed to the citizenry;
2) election by a clear and unambiguous majority of qualified adults in a reasonably free and open atmosphere of the spirited exchange of ideas;
3) an election conducted under clear, Constitutional, and uniformly enforced guidelines of proper voting protocols;
4) an incoming Chief Executive and administration that proposes and supports policies and processes which, although they may differ in some measure and detail from the prior administration, nevertheless shall maintain a rational and legal continuity, keeping faith with the electorate and with the duly established body of law, and the legal means of revising it, and including respect for the Founding Documents;
5) an incoming Chief Executive and administration that insures that in all respects going forward, the interests of the American people, and the inseverable rights of the citizenry, shall be held as the benchmarks for all policies and procedures;
6) an incoming Chief Executive and administration that shall exhibit unabashed and unfailing favor, support, and preference for the sovereignty, welfare, and concerns of the citizens of the country that elected them and which they shall faithfully represent, consistent with the general peace, prosperity, and continuity of the Nation,
7) an incoming Chief Executive and administration committed to transparent oversight, and serious consequences, for behavior which intentionally places the above principles in jeopardy, and which therefore breaks trust and commits a treachery against the American people, such as:
a) Making secret deals and backroom arrangements to illegally or unfairly dilute, misdirect or otherwise pervert the proper conduct of an election to favor a party or individual;
b) Soliciting or accepting by contract or clandestine agreement the material assistance of either foreign and domestic parties to illegally or unfairly affect the balance and outcome of an election;
c) Consciously and without revelation to authorities allowing one’s person, those working in one’s behalf, or anyone with whom one is personally involved to engage in compromising entanglements which may create conflicts with any of the above principles, or which may place the security, sovereignty, or specific interests of the Nation or its citizens in danger;
d) Engaging in direct, purposeful, and demonstrable threats, intimidation, blackmail, or arbitrary suppression of relevant public information, or curtailing access to customary public means of expression without meaningful legal recourse, etc., in order to illegally or unfairly gain advantage in an election, cause suppression of action, or force actions contrary to the will of the victim of such conduct.
And finally,
8) an incoming Chief Executive and administration committed to precisely the peaceful transfer they expect, without rancor, vitriol, public displays of petty warfare, attempts at personal destruction, displays of class or party bullying, or malicious retribution against the outgoing President, administration, staff, or facilities.
Now, if you took the time to read this, how many of the above “boxes” could you check off, referenced to the current election cycle? It’s pretty clear to me why President Trump has doggedly held out the way he has, and why he must be going through a very real and personal h-ll right now, knowing how much he cares about both his legacy and the country.
At the same time, it should be clear why the true believers in his path are dedicated to him, whether in or out of office, and whether in or out of media favor. Most of them have the purity of vision to see the simple facts.
The rest of these jokers just are not even equipped to get a clue.

Looks like Hallmark revealed a little too much about themselves. Before I purchase a card I always flip it over to see it's origin manufacture. If it was manufactured in China I don't purchase it. Now I would purchase Hallmark cards either. Hallmark has gone too far for me.

Hallmark is a KC company, has been for a very long time. In the 70s through the 90s, or even later, Hallmark had a number of very large printing operations in the KC area, several in eastern Kansas. Huge buildings turning out millions of cards per year. They have closed the Topeka plant permanently, running since 1940s, but the Lawrence and Leavenworth plants are still running.
NO more Hallmark cards for me, and we buy a lot of them per year. Even though they have the two plants in Kansas, it has been hard to find "Made in USA" Hallmark cards in the last 5 or 6 years, and we DO look.
Clearly all their expansion was in China, as they closed the one plant and downsized the others in the USA.
I don't need to support leftist political allies.

Really Hallmark? You sure rode the patriotic, wholesome, home-town, aw-shucks wave that President Trump ushered in. Now we find out we have been "penced."
Friends, ask a kid to make your greeting cards for you. They will have a whole lot more charm and personality. Just sayin'.
