CHICAGO -- What was supposed to be a simple haircut has cost a husband and wife their lives just days before Christmas. Now, their son hopes their story will serve as a tale of caution for those who want to celebrate the holiday with their loved ones. The Chicago family has been left heartbroken after several relatives were infected with the COVID-19 in just one short visit. The family hopes their tragic tale of caution serves as a warning to others. After 59 years of marriage, Mike and Carol Bruno died 10 days apart after battling the coronavirus. Mike passed away

OP - They don't know it was the haircut...it just makes a better fear-porn story.
Only married 59 years; honeymooners cut off at the prime of life. Really? Most happily married couples I know pray for the blessing to leave this life together. My sympathies to the family, it must be tough to lose your parents so close together but not unusual. Ten years ago a good friend lost her parents a week apart, but then they were older...married 62 years.
It may sound harsh to some, but I really don't understand this notion in our culture that all death is to prevented. Everybody wants to go to heaven, but nobody wants to die. I don't get it.

The parents were already in a high risk category, from their ages, if they'd been married for 59 years. The flu could have easily killed them at that age.

Yep. This infantile intolerance to death is a symptom of a society that never sustained a cold shower or an empty stomach.

Fear porn is right. They had to be at least in their late 70s. I'm sorry for the family, but these two could have easily died from the flu in a normal year.

What were the parents supposed to do at their age? Cower in fear in their beds and never go out anywhere? They must have both been about 80 years old, and people do die of the ailments of old age. Even in a so-called "normal" year just getting a cold or the flu might have caused their death.

I'm a skeptic on this one.
What are we to take away from it?
That the sister's negative Covid test was a false negative, so we shoudn't believe whatever a Covid test tells you?
That even with a negative Covid test we can get the virus at any point AFTER the negative test, so we should get a test every day or so?
That wearing a mask won't keep Covid from infecting us?
That distancing from other people won't keep Covid from infecting us?
That we should just stay in our homes and avoid EVERYONE until...
...when?

Symptoms a day after the presumed exposure seems kind of short?

Despite the constant harangue to the contrary, there is no possible way anyone can tell where you picked up a virus of any kind. Any “evidence” is circumstantial, at best. It’s a tough thing to lose anyone in our lives, but no one goes before their time. No one. They chose to go together. God bless them, and stop blaming the victims for their Covid choices. It is dishonorable, deceptive and borders on the obscene.

I was taught not to fall into the "after this...therefore because of this" trap, because it's a logical fallacy.
There is no way of knowing how, when or where any of those people were infected, yet the piece is written as though the path taken by the virus has been established.
It was thoughtful of the family to try to warn others about what they experienced, but I think blaming themselves is unhealthy. They are assuming they're at fault, when no one can tell them with certainty how, when or where mom and dad caught the virus.

I will keep shouting this. Early treatment could help so many. Look up Dr.Peter McCullough and his protocol for early, at home treatment of COVID. We are being sacrificed for the sake of Big Pharma’s vaccine. If you get it, insist to your doctor that you wish to follow this protocol. If they refuse, look up SpeakWithAnMD site.

What were their underlying health problems? There is no way anyone can say where or when they caught the virus. Sorry for your loss but they died with the virus and not from it.

Of course age didn't have anything to do with it. If they were married at 20 and they were married 59 years they were both in their late 70s. At least they weren't "auto accident" Covid cases.

This is a story based on allegations. Diagnosis is made by the family. Elderly people are very susceptible to pneumonia when their immune systems are impaired from other diseases. Covid is reimbursed at higher rates, so no hospital uses a pneumonia diagnostic code any longer. It's all fraud.

What about those grieving (mostly black) families in Chicago that lost loved ones to lead poisoning?

I have a friends who are an older couple. Will not go into a closed spaced.
How many with the virus ate outside of their home ? Did they eat anything while at the son's place ?
Condolences to the family.

What I’m hearing in this story: Sister tests negative and quarantines so she can be around Mom and Brother. Mom goes with Sister to see Brother. Brother has not tested but stays away from Mom and takes all sorts of precautions. Mom and Dad (who isn’t at the scene of the “alleged crime”) contract and die from the rona.
Did Brother give it to Sister and she passed it on? Why the precautions—sort of—but not really?

The sister would not have had symptoms so soon after exposure. The brother got symptoms days later — that suggests the sister gave it to the brother. I’m betting the mom gave it to the adult children.

Something does not add up here. Check the son's political affiliation and that may tell you something. In reality, his parents had an underlying condition which they probably died of but the death certification and drama says COVID. I'm sorry for sounding cold, but I'm tired of this COVID crap.

Fear porn indeed. We've been in the "maintenance" phase of the narrative for many months. When it first broke there were wild-eyed predictions from "scientists" looking at their models. After the lockdowns settled in, all it took was a story like this every week or so. Lord help us.

This "horror story" will be used as heart-rending propaganda for months. The couple had to be around 80 and had very few years left anyway. The way I see it, they left a damaged world together for a better life. It's a living death staying in isolation so why not live a sane life and leave it in God's hands?

A tragic story but how do they know the virus was transmitted during the haircut? It could have been picked up anywhere.
