American Medical Association Rescinds
Previous Statement Against Prescription

The American Medical Association (AMA), in a surprising move, has officially rescinded a previous statement against the use of Hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) in the treatment of COVID-19 patients, giving physicians the okay to return to utilizing the medication at their discretion. Previously, the AMA had issued a statement in March that was highly critical of HCQ in regards to its use as a proposed treatment by some physicians in the early stages of COVID-19. In addition to discouraging doctors from ordering the medication in bulk for “off-label” use(Snip) they also claimed that there was no proof that it was effective in treating COVID, and that its use could be harmful

For those who don’t understand the comment about its being prescribed off label, this drug was approved for malaria and has been used for that for some time. Many, many drugs are prescribed “off label” for various conditions other than the one for which they were originally approved.

I feel for the poor souls who lost their lives this year due to covid because HCQ was banned pre-election. The end justifies the means. Right, lefties? This just proves once again that organizations like the AMA, Bar association etc are not to be trusted, lack ethics and are just plain political. As others have said, how many people lost their lives because the AMA dislikes Trump and put out their trash position because of that without considering those Americans who would likely die because of their political hate of Trump. You cannot believe any organization any more whether it be government, legal, medical, media or tech. We are left to our own, to research everything on our own and to make our own informed decisions without the just taking the word of the "experts". Pretty sad situation.

Then, when they start treating patients with this, and they have quicker recover results, they will credit Biden with the "good news". It also proves once again, the AMA, is nothing more than a political interest group people have been fooled into thinking represents the medical community. I'm a bit surprised because I thought Trump wasn't the only reason all these people opposed it. I thought it was also the drug companies wanting their expensive drugs to be used, not some old cheap and effective medicine. Now I'm waiting for big pushback against the AMA's decision and they'll rescind it.

Oooh. You mean that dangerous drug, hydroxycloroquine (which I call Plaquenil, because I used to sell it in the 1908s)! That dangerous drug that has been around since the 1950s for the treatment of malaria and was later found to be effective against rheumatoid arthritis. BTW, that was found because missionaries that were sent to Africa were sent with Plaquenil to flight malaria. Some that had RA found their symptoms improved while there and worsened when they got back and stopped taking the drug. It had an excellent safety record. The major concern is eye problems (macular degeneration) in a small amount of patients taking it for long term (several years) and we always recommended baseline and annual eye exams for long term patients. That is not an issue with the short term use in COVID cases, especially with several other drugs such as Vit. C, D3, Zinc, and arythromicin. Plus, it's cheap. My wife takes it for RA. She just got a 180 pill (90 day) supply for less than $100.

Very brave of the AMA to walk back their previous comments.// How many deaths because of their hatred and bias against Trump? How many deaths could have been avoided thanks to their outdated thinking? Maybe they saw the numbers for Africa, and wondered why so little covid was affecting that continent? Could it be because they have been taking that hated drug for decades and it protected them? Many questions.

I read about the effectiveness of HDQ just a few weeks after the panic started. Someone over at WattsUpWithThat wrote an article about it. They're mostly involved with the climate scam issue, but some of the people there look at and analyze lots of data, looking for patterns. For the person who first noticed it, the effect of HDQ -where people take it to prevent malaria, there was almost no Covid, the pattern stood out like a sore thumb painted bright pink and lit with a 100-watt bulb.

In the final days of a Republican controlled Pennsylvania House, the Judiciary Committee voted along party lines Tuesday to move two impeachment articles against Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner to the full House, which is expected to vote on it Wednesday. The articles blame Krasner’s leadership in the district attorney’s office (DAO) as being a direct cause of increasing Philadelphia crime and accuse him of obstructing the impeachment investigation by not sufficiently complying with a subpoena from the Select Committee on Restoring Law and Order. That select committee released a report of its investigation on Oct. 24 and, although it did not recommend impeachment, it offered a grim look at Philadelphia’s crime.

If Republicans eke out a win in the House of Representatives—which now seems likely—GOP leaders have promised to investigate numerous government scandals, including the irredeemably corrupt Federal Bureau of Investigation. One path of inquiry is how the bureau manufactures data to promote the phony narrative that “domestic violent extremists,” i.e., supporters of Donald Trump, pose a security threat to the country. Whistleblowers recently disclosed how the FBI is “misrepresenting the scale of domestic violent extremism nationwide by categorizing January 6th-related investigations as organic cases stemming from local field offices, instead of all related to one single incident,” according to a report by GOP members of the House Judiciary Committee.

Florida’s fentanyl crisis is a “revolving door of overdose,” a top health official says.
