A fight is breaking out among Democrats over who Joe Biden should pick to be his Secretary of Agriculture. The president-elect has yet to appoint the person who will head up the Agriculture Department, which oversees various agencies including the United States Forest Service, the United States Food Safety and Inspection Service, and the Food Stamp Program. South Carolina Rep. James Clyburn - who is widely seen as playing a crucial role in Biden's Democratic primary victory - told The New York Times on Thursday that Biden should name Ohio Rep. I know I'm just dreaming but it would nice for a change to put the best qualified person in charge of various govt. departments. I really don't care if you are purple with green spots as long as you are qualified. This whole diversity thing has swung way too far off course and this country will pay a price for that in years to come as we will appoint people to critical positions based on ethnicity, gender and some other criteria which ignores the vital question.....are they qualified. How many people do we see in positions that cause ourselves to ask "how are they even remotely qualified" to hold that position.

Yeah, appoint people based on some kind of diversity quota system for the cabinet rather than somebody who actually has experience in the field of agriculture. Surely if a democrat does that, it will work just fine. Who cares what farmers and ranchers need in order to keep feeding the nation. Where do the democrats think the food to feed the Urban areas comes from? Not out of nowhere Kiddies, but out of the ground, thanks to the hard working farmers and their rancher buddies. Thanks to the two cretins who will be Obama's third term, the dream of turning us into Zimbabwe or even Venezuela will finally be achieved.

Yes, #13, Espy was driving dirty, and was indicted for taking bribes, but was acquitted by a D.C. jury, even though he admitted taking bribes - one of which was a college scholarship for his young mistress - not his wife. Marcia Fudge, dumber than her name, could make some real money at Agriculture. She is only a member of the House because of majority-minority districts. It is nigh impossible to obtain a a conviction in federal court in D.C., if the defendant is black or O.J. juries are the reality in D.C.

University students have demanded the word "black" be banned from lectures and textbooks amid claims it symbolises "negative situations". Undergraduates at the University of Manchester say the colour's use as an adjective is stemmed in "colonial history", which has become outdated in the wake of the Black Lives Matter movement. Supporters are calling for commonly used phrases such as "black sheep" to be removed from lecture slides and books, while concerns have also been raised about "blackmail" and "black market" during a student union-led audit of racism concerns on campus. The University said it is preparing to roll out new

BUDAPEST, Hungary — A Hungarian ministerial commissioner has come under fire for an article comparing American-Hungarian billionaire and philanthropist George Soros, a staunch critic of Hungary’s government, to Adolf Hitler and the Nazis. “Europe is George Soros’ gas chamber,” Szilard Demeter, ministerial commissioner and head of the Petofi Literary Museum in Budapest, wrote in an opinion article Saturday in the pro-government outlet Origo. “Poison gas flows from the capsule of a multicultural open society, which is deadly to the European way of life.” The comments drew outrage from Hungary’s Jewish community, including the Unified Hungarian Jewish Congregation, which called the

In fact, up to 50 million Americans are traveling over the Thanksgiving weekend, according to the American Automobile Association, or AAA. The comings and goings of US travelers belie the fact that the Covid-19 pandemic continues to surge. The US reported 2,046 deaths Wednesday -- the highest one-day coronavirus death toll the country has reported since early May, Johns Hopkins University data shows. The country also hit a new daily hospitalization record, with 89,954 people currently hospitalized for Covid-19, according to the Covid Tracking Project.

Republicans have picked up their 11th seat overall in the U.S. House and the third seat in California, as Republican David Valadao reclaimed the seat he lost in the farm belt two years ago. The former congressman defeated Democratic Rep. TJ Cox, who ousted Valadao in the 21st Congressional District two years ago by 862 votes. Valadao endorsed President Donald Trump after withholding his backing in 2016 — a risk in a swing district the president lost by 15 points four years ago. But he also stressed his independence, criticizing the Trump administration for family separations at the border and promoting

By so doing, the court narrowly held that Cuomo’s regulations limiting attendance at religious services likely violated the Free Exercise Clause of the First Amendment. The Pennsylvania Supreme Court issued an order Saturday vacating a lower court’s decision to suspend the certification of the state’s vote in the presidential election, holding that a challenge to the state’s vote-by-mail laws had come too late. On Saturday, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court overturned Judge McCullough’s order under the doctrine of “laches,” ruling that Rep. A tidal wave of reports over alleged voter fraud and other irregularities in the 2020 election cycle should keep FBI investigators busy for the foreseeable future, that is if FBI Director Christopher Wray's investigators care to look. The FBI has been accused of turning a blind eye as hundreds of witnesses step forward and mountains of evidence pile up suggesting a lot of funny business took place during the Nov. 3 election. But could that be changing? President Trump’s disastrous mishandling of the coronavirus pandemic probably cost him re-election. Yet it seems mind-boggling that he still won more votes than any incumbent president in American history despite his dereliction of responsibility at a time of a once-in-a-century health crisis and economic devastation. Why are President-elect Joe Biden’s margins so thin in the states that clinched his victory? And why did the president’s down-ticket enablers flourish in the turbulent, plague-torn conditions they helped bring about? Democrats, struggling to make sense of it all, are locked in yet another round of mutual recrimination: They were either too progressive for swing voters — too socialist or aggressive with ambitious policies
