Making sense of the news
about Sidney Powell

Original Article

You probably already know that Trump’s legal team announced that Sidney Powell is not a team member. The brief statement leaves unanswered the most important question: “Why?” Absent solid information, speculation leads us either to “This is the beginning of the end” or “This is all part of the plan” – and I’m leaning to the latter. (snip) If Powell represents the campaign, the government regulates individual donations. If she’s apart from the campaign, things are less constrained. Lin Wood also chimed in, assuring people Powell is still in the game: Sidney Powell @SidneyPowell1 & I are more alike than we are different. We are fighting different legal battles for the same clients

Good article by Andrea Widburg, as always. But why does everyone insist fraud must be proved? If there is a reliable enough record in the software, would it not be enough simply to show without a doubt that votes were switched (for whatever reason) and switch them back? For now, all Trump needs is to get back the votes that were rightly his. Fraud and other criminal prosecutions can occur later.

Sundance, at CTH: "This is all about who is getting paid by the campaign and RNC. The Trump campaign isn’t going to reimburse Sidney Powell for any expenses, nor is she allowed to make offers of financial payment from the GOP or Trump campaign. The vultures assembling and protecting their paychecks do not want Powell getting paid, nor do they want any financial liability. That’s all this statement is. ... That announcement is all about money; nothing more." https://theconservativetreehouse.com/2020/11/22/republican-business-interests-separate-from-sidney-powell/

To question by #3: "But why does everyone insist fraud must be proved?" You raise a valid point. The answer is, "Don't need it, but do need whatever it takes." Legal details aside, the effective answer is that the level of proof required is whatever is needed to sway enough legislatures into refusing to certify the election results that Biden's point-total drops below 270...by Dec 15. If a standard of 'reasonable doubt' is enough...fine. If a higher standard of the evidence supporting a screaming case of systemically felonious fraud is needed, then so be it. Whatever it takes. Since we don't know at this point what that level is, then it's all hands on deck, and all sheets to the wind.

Throughout his life as a citizen businessman, President Trump has taken on all comers to get things done. For the most part he has won, to the benefit to them and his companies. This mountain is like nothing he has ever faced only this time he has 75 million plus Americans and untold people world wide behind him.

Believe in Sidney Powell, she has the goods, and will show the goods in the appropriate venue. She is the lawyer for us, not the lawyer for the President. The talking heads dismay is showing and the Deep State is worried. Have patience. The wheels of Justice are slow and the process may take longer than through Dec 14th. And China Joe and Heels Up may be in the White House when the court(s) decide about SP's lawsuits. Ultimately, Lawyer Powell will prove her case, future American elections will be saved from Banana Republic type results. And Ms Powell will become the MAGA Party's nominee for President in 2024.

The big story is not the machines it is the Constitution. I believe all of the states in question violated the constitution by changing the voting rules in their state by bypassing their state legislatures. The only entity that can legally change these rules is the State Legislature. Wait and see.

A statement from Ms. Powell: "I agree with the campaign’s statement that I am not part of the campaign’s legal team. I never signed a retainer agreement or sent the President or the campaign a bill for my expenses or fees. My intent has always been to expose all the fraud I could find and let the chips fall where they may–whether it be upon Republicans or Democrats. The evidence I’m compiling is overwhelming that this software tool was used to shift millions of votes from President Trump and other Republican candidates to Biden and other Democrat candidates. We are proceeding to prepare our lawsuit and plan to file it this week. It will be epic. We will not allow this great Republic to be stolen by communists from without and within or our votes altered or manipulated by foreign actors in Hong Kong, Iran, Venezuela, or Serbia, for example, who have neither regard for human life nor the people who are the engine of this exceptional country. #WeThePeople elected Donald Trump and other Republican candidates to restore the vision of America as a place of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Sidney Powell is not your average lawyer. Her passion for the rule of law and patriotism for this country runs deep and wide. Like many here, my mind has been speculating all kind of scenarios. My gut tells me Sidney has opened a Pandora's box with Dominion. The White House is probably getting calls from every government who has used this system as well as from some of our own states. Let's face it, Sidney has not been restrained in her comments. Personally, I don't think any of the lawyers working of this should be talking to the media including Tucker. Why give them fodder to create wild narratives that are not true. Let them eat cake and wait for the court process like the rest of us. In order to stem the tide of wild speculation from other countries, perhaps, they had to do this, for both legal issues and for her own protection. She will have more leniency and options working privately, rather than as a government official. Basically, Trump is setting her free to go and win this for the Gipper and the American people.

Interesting take on the major game plan....Sidney is a absolute Constitutionalist...our country's fate is in her hands... now whether the courts will follow the laws as written... or whether the swamp can take her out is gonna be a fight for law and order...this is America...not china and the globalists control... interesting that Venezuela's socialist government had control of the dominion software... aided and abetted by china and cuba....the swamp made a deal with the devil....they put up a candidate that can be controlled and then lied and cheated their way to a fraudulent outcome...WE'll see!

Sidney Powell has confirmed that she is indeed working on her own. Has signed no retainer with the Trump team nor accepted any payment. As Lin Wood says, she is stlll very much in the game. There are a number of lawyers involved in the various aspects of the election challenges in various states. Jordan Sekulow said that his “team” would be filing suit on “constitutional issues” in Georgia today or tomorrow. Sidney expects to have her filing ready by Friday. This is a massive project. Good that so many fine lawyers are engaged. We should calm down and keep our powder dry. We know that the media and the opposition use every little change to shout “chaos!!!!” Ldotters never bit on that in the past; why would we do so now?

#3, it would seem to be the case. But will most Americans understand what is being presented? First of all, many Americans have been so dumbed down, they cannot comprehend information viewed on a chart. It's very simple, for example--because we are bombarded on a daily basis the number of coronavirus cases as well as the number of COVID-related deaths--to calculate the mortality rate, which is around 3% overall. A simple fraction. But how many people know how to do this? If Americans can't figure this out, how will they understand anything presented to them on charts by Trump's legal team? However, people understand something simple like the number of attendees at a Trump rally vs. The number of attendees at a Biden rally, a visual that the MSM has censored. Visuals are very important. I have read that if women view ultrasound images of their unborn children, 90% of these women refuse to have an abortion. And this is why Planned Parenthood hates ultrasound images. Trump's legal team, I believe, will need to get images into court that even the most dumbed down members of a jury will understand. But will an evil and dunderhead judge censor them? I still have a glimmer of hope, but Trump's legal team has an uphill battle owing to the dumbing down of America.

Today is the "big day" in Georgia, I understand, with the first Trump campaign suit to be filed. We've hit the bottom of the manure pile...now let's see whether we found that unicorn. If that's empty, it's all going to be empty. As for Sidney Powell, she's a fine made-for-TV lawyer. She can argue the law and she can pound the table with the best. IMO, she made a tactical PR mistake promising the Kraken and delivering nothing to date but more kinda evidence of funny business. The courts will require, as they should, extraordinary proof to support extraordinary claims of election fraud. And either they have it, or they don't. Time to turn over the cards...

Easy to understand demonstration: Ten "Biden voters" and 10 "Trump voters" enter their ballots into a Dominion machine. What's the vote count. Even if it has been tricked out by the demonstrators, illustrates that it can be done. Who authorized the use of these dubiously , pedigreed machines? I love Tucker and think he is brave, but I also think he is getting a bit giddy with success. And I absolutely believe Powell if she says he got nasty. I also believe that Rudy did a take it or leave it, me or her, re: Powell with Trump, and since the stuff Rudy is working on can move faster (and speed is of the essence) than what Sydney is going after, which could take YEARS, Trump went with Rudy. I have, by the way, given up entirely Special Report on Fox, which I watched since its inception, and a lot of Fox in general and instead watch Greg Kelly and Lou Dobbs, both at 7 p.m. on Newsman and Fox Business respectively. I adore Maria Bartolromo, Guttfeld and Watters and some of the women (NOT Perino) on The Five, Brian Kilmeade and Mark Levin, among others. The most valuable possession we have as American citizens is the value of our vote. The USA has cheapened it and made it invaluable. You do not have a right to vote just because you are a citizen. Voting should not be easy. You have to be registered to vote. You can't be an illegal or a felon. This whole mess we are witnessing is the defrauding of 80 million voters of their vote. All in the name of easy voting. The founders of this country would not let you vote unless you owned property. Think of that. You had to have skin in the game. Not now, the land owners are scum. By the way, 'you ain't no man if you have no land'. If you have not invested in American land, you still shouldn't have a right to vote. Yes, and you should have to be 21. The foundation of America is the legitiment vote. That is now gone. My Grand Dad always told me. Son a man dresses from the ground up not the top down. Always wear polished fine shoes. He was right. America, if you destroy this foundaton of voting, you bring in chaos. America will die.

This article states it best. Since Powell doesn't represent the campaign or Trump personally, she is free from the restraints imposed on lawyers who do. Additionally, there is the simple detail of making clear who and which entities she is an agent for, and who and which ones she is NOT an agent for. Housekeeping clarity.

Sun Tzu wrote the "Art of War". Trump wrote the "Art of the Deal". See if this makes sense; He must be able to mystify his officers and men by false reports and appearances, Literally, "to deceive their eyes and ears." and thus keep them in total ignorance. As vote counts continue to be posted, it is clear that Republican hopes and dreams of a huge wave election have been dashed. (snip) But in one state, Florida, Republicans have triumphed in tsunami-like proportions. With 98% of the vote counted, Marco Rubio has a 16.4% landslide lead over Senate challenger Val Demings, and Governor Ron DeSantis has a 19.4% lead, a gigantic increase over his fraction of one percent squeaker victory 4 years ago. It’s going to take some time to figure out why the rest of the country isn’t behaving like the Sunshine State, but 3 factors suggest themselves.

Ron DeSantis is getting the lion’s share of national attention for his sweeping victory...adding almost 20 points to his margin of victory in 2018, when he barely won the governorship. Among his pillars of support was his strong opposition to COVID shutdowns of businesses and schools and his opposition to vaccine mandates. But 2 other statewide races on Tuesday featured incumbent candidates who vigorously fought against COVID shutdowns and mandatory vaccines. And in both races the incumbents won victories with even bigger margins than DeSantis. In Kentucky, with 87% of the vote counted, Rand Paul is winning re-election to the Senate with a 22.8% margin)

Even as they claim to oppose censorship, a group of almost 500 people from the literary world (snip) have signed onto a call for Penguin Random House to drop a forthcoming book by Justice Amy Coney Barrett. (snip) "We recognize that harm is done to a democracy not only in the form of censorship, but also in the form of assault on inalienable human rights. As such, we are calling on Penguin Random House to recognize its own history and corporate responsibility commitments by reevaluating its decision to move forward with publishing Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett’s forthcoming book" Do none of these people (snip) see the contradiction here?
Fetterman flubs his sole debate in Pennsylvania’s
Senate race

John Fetterman obviously hoped that by lowering expectations for last night’s debate with Dr. Oz and by having a closed captioning system with 2 70-inch monitors, he could convince Pennsylvania voters that he was healthy enough to discharge the duties of US Senator. But he equally obviously failed. He opened his remarks with an inappropriate greeting: “Hi. Good night, everybody.” (snip) Fetterman’s performance was bad enough that even the partisan media were forced to acknowledge his poor presentation. (snip) Time Magazine writer Charlotte Alter, who prior to the debate did her utmost to lower expectations for Fetterman, admitted that “he was much much worse than I expected.”

The 2022 midterm elections are two weeks away. (snip) Republicans should not break out the champagne quite yet as the GOP, also known as the “stupid party,” is fully capable of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. (snip) One example is in my state of Colorado where the Republican Senate candidate Joe O’Dea made these remarks on CNN: “I don’t think Donald Trump should run again,” O’Dea said in an interview Sunday on CNN’s "State of the Union." (snip) Instead, GOP candidates need to ask one simple question that has nothing directly to do with Donald Trump. “Are you better off today than you were four years ago?”

Kamala Harris has just scored a hat trick of buffoonery. While we are accustomed to her embarrassing herself virtually every time speaks extemporaneously, her verbal tomfoolery may be keeping pace with the accelerating dementia of her boss, Joe Biden. We’ll start with an outright lie, committed during an interview with Esme Murphy of WCCO-TV in Minneapolis. (snip)The Vice President of the United States called claims that she supported the Minnesota Freedom Fund, established to bail out rioters arrested during the first round of arson and looting following the death in police custody of career criminal George Floyd "misinformation": [video] This is an easily proven lie: [tweet]

Earlier this morning, David looked at the startling way in which Winsome Sears cut her ties with Donald Trump after rising to prominence as a staunch soldier in the Trump army. That clearly caught some people by surprise, though not everyone. Sears wasn’t alone, however. Another fervent Trump supporter has appeared to similarly throw in the towel. Famed cartoonist Scott Adams, best known for his iconic Dilbert series, made a very brief but apparently definitive declaration on Twitter yesterday. He was responding to news that Trump was attacking Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin for reasons that weren’t entirely clear. This was apparently a bridge too far for Adams

Former President Donald Trump has superpowers. That much was established when he first stepped onto the political scene in 2015 and demonstrated his uncanny ability to transform folks on the left into crazed caricatures of themselves just by giving an utterance. It seemed that anytime he so much as sneezed, it immediately caused those who are left of center to have a collective meltdown. But now, he has revealed another superhuman talent: The ability to turn Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis into a Romneyesque neocon just by saying unkind words about him. That’s right. Ever since Trump took a few shots at the person believed to be his most formidable opponent

As Republican Adam Laxalt’s lead in the Nevada Senate race dwindles with 93% of the vote counted, his campaign is reportedly “bracing for a loss” and weighing asking for a recount. Laxalt is ahead of incumbent Democratic Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto by just 800 votes after 23,000 mail-in ballots were tabulated in Clark County on Friday. The results from the mail-in ballots are favoring Cortez Masto at a 2-1 rate. Clark County, home to Las Vegas, reportedly has about 27,000 mail-in ballots left to be counted.

Control of the Senate still hung in the balance on Friday, forcing Senate Republicans to briefly put aside their intraparty blame game as they go all-in on winning Georgia’s Senate runoff. The Senate majority could be decided in the coming days if Democrats defend the seats they hold in both Arizona and Nevada, where votes continue to be counted. But if the GOP picks up just one of those seats, Senate control will be determined by a Dec. 6 runoff election in the Peach State. GOP operatives continued to express optimism about the party’s chances of picking up a seat in Nevada

Phoenix - Incumbent Democrat Mark Kelly defeated Republican Blake Masters on Friday to win a U.S. Senate seat in Arizona, a contest that left Democrats one seat short in the battle for control of the chamber with two more races to be decided. The win by Kelly, a former astronaut whose wife, Gabby Giffords, survived an assassination attempt when she was a U.S. lawmaker, meant Democrats had battled to a 49-49 tie in the race for the Senate. "I'm humbled by the trust our state has placed in me to continue this work," Kelly said on Twitter. Control of the Senate - and the shape of President

Nevada incumbent Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto survived a challenge, defeating Republican Adam Laxalt and helping Democrats hold onto U.S. Senate, according to the Associated Press call of the race. Nevada was one of Republicans' top targets as they tried to break the Senate's 50-50 split, and Cortez Masto's reelection was a toss-up coming into the election. She was running neck and neck with Laxalt, Nevada's former attorney general who has been endorsed by former President Donald Trump. Cortez Masto served two terms as Nevada's attorney general before becoming the first Latina ever elected to the U.S. Senate in 2016. She campaigned on women's reproductive rights,

When Washington Post associate editor Jonathan Capehart and New York Times columnist David Brooks joined PBS NewsHour host Judy Woodruff for their Friday recap of the week’s news, the natural topic of conversation was the election results. Capehart’s big takeaway was that things other than the economy, like abortion, saved Democrats while Brooks cheered the demise of populism inspired by Vladimir Putin, Xi Jinping, and Donald Trump. After being asked by Woodruff what voters were saying on Tuesday, Capehart replied, “Simple message. Voters are trying to say, we can walk and chew gum at the same time.

The Biden administration has stopped taking applications for its student debt forgiveness program, citing a Thursday ruling from a federal judge in Texas that declared the program "unlawful." On Friday, the Department of Education's student debt relief website displayed a message informing borrowers that "student loan debt relief is blocked." It added, "Courts have issued orders blocking our student debt relief program. As a result, at this time, we are not accepting applications. We are seeking to overturn those orders." The Education Department said it will hold the applications for the roughly 26 million people who have already applied for forgiveness.
