Walter E. Williams 1936-2020

Walter Williams loved teaching. Unlike too many other teachers today, he made it a point never to impose his opinions on his students.(snip)Walter once said he hoped that, on the day he died, he would have taught a class that day. And that is just the way it was, when he died on Wednesday, December 2, 2020.He was my best friend for half a century. There was no one I trusted more or whose integrity I respected more.

“We may not see his like again. And that is our loss.” - Thomas Sowell. Same will be said of you one day, Sir. I am one among many with so much love, respect and admiration for you. Thank you for your well-written and easily understandable books. God bless you.

It was an honor and pleasure to read Thomas Sowell's article on Walter Williams - two men I have admired for so long. They are both known to be great and good men - and proudly patriotic Americans. Wonderful to know their caring and loving hearts are at the forefront of who they are.

When he subbed for Rush, he talked about travel with his wife. He said that he always chose a hotel that had rooms with an ironing board and iron so that Mrs. Williams could iron his shirts. My wife and I cracked up when he told that story because we shared his sense of humor. He will be missed!

A lovely tribute about a great man from a great man. I think it's interesting to read the comments from posters and seeing how so many of us has the same fond memories of Mr. Williams standing in for Rush. That was about 25 years ago at least. Last night I was telling my husband about his death and I said that I always enjoyed listening to him and that loved his comments about buying new ironing boards and vacuum cleaners for Mrs. Williams. At least in the 90's he could infuriate the feminazi's and not get "cancelled."

I, too, enjoyed the wit and wisdom delivered with calming reassurance by Dr. Williams whenever he sat in for Rush. I could only imagine the delight of taking one of his classes. We could use more like him. As he so often said to his national audience when he took up behind the golden EIB microphone, "Black, by popular demand!"

He was brought up in a Philadelphia housing project, garden apartments. He said when he was growing up every family there had a father except himself. I taught Head Start in 1966 and all the kids came from that project. And still almost every family had a father. Walter Williams could explain well what happened after that, when LBJ's Great Society went into effect. He went to a Philadelphia public high school which he said gave him a good education -- they forced him to get it. A few decades later it was a crime-ridden disaster with no discernible education happening there. He could explain that too. It's so sad that no one in charge listened to this man who was so full of practical wisdom, who explained things using both academic theory and his own experiences. Rest In Peace, Walter Williams.

There is a concerted effort to destroy the very foundations of our constitutional republic.  Public schools have been ground zero of this attack for decades, though it has been hidden from view from those not paying attention. But it is now out in full view, with the radical advancement of Critical Race Theory and the rewriting of American History.(Snip) As we just passed Religious Freedom Day, January 16th, which celebrates the Religious Freedom Statutes of 1786 signed by then Governor Thomas Jefferson, I want to take a moment to debunk a hoax created about Thomas Jefferson that began to get real traction toward the end of the last century.

Herschel Walker seems to be back in the game for Georgia’s senate seat after a series of coordinated hit pieces dropped weeks prior…(snip). Walker is doing everything he can to consolidate support in the swing state, including giving more interviews. Part of Walker’s appeal has been his down-home persona despite it earning mockery from those who don’t live within a thousand miles of Georgia. He’s not a politician, and that’s blatantly obvious when he speaks. If you are from the South, absolutely nothing about his delivery seems odd or out of place. To the beltway-dwelling liberals who control the press, though, Walker might as well be from an alien world.

Was this election rigged? According to precedents set by our State Department, the answer is “yes.” OANN Chief White House correspondent Chanel Rion tweeted out an interesting tidbit of information that Americans, and even their own government, may find interesting. Going to the State Department’s own website, we can see back in 2004 that our government was monitoring the Ukrainian elections and, after witnessing events that took place there, qualified the election as “rigged.” Why? Because Ukraine experienced a wave of oddities that mirror exactly what happened during the 2020 election here in America.
