Not long ago, business was a very dry arena. If a company made a calculator, that’s all you would ever know. These days, it seems corporations have calculated the benefit of messaging. Therefore, they’re investing in the social and political realm. Case in point: Oreo has teamed with PFLAG — Parents and Friends of Lesbians And Gays — to release a special edition of its delicious, milk-ready mainstays. And not only that — the confection colossus has produced a short film about a mom and her lesbian daughter. As for the new multi-colored treats, don’t look for ’em in-store — they can only be won online.

Nabisco knows what would likely happen if the rainbow Oreos showed up in stores, so they play it safe and frame it as a “special” cookie one “wins.” Not sure if they get that compromise = a solution nobody likes.

I'm thinking it will be followed by the obvious mixed racial marriage message if people bite on the Rainbow theme. (pun intended)

They might want to check with Gillette to see how that stuff works out.

Never liked them anyway. They stole the idea from Hydrox many years ago. Just had a better marketing campaign.

This is nothing new for Nabisco. I started boycotting them several years ago when they aired a commercial showing 2 homosexual men and their adopted son with the buzz word of the ad being “wholesome”.

Lots of knock-off brands are entirely acceptable, especially considering the price difference.

It looks like we need an election process at our corporations where each party nominates a candidate for officers, and an election is held---except Democrats will corrupt the system so only Democrats will be elected. This is why socialism is hell. Please return me to the peace and prosperity of capitalism.

My fellow posters have short memories. This is the second time Nabisco has manufactured Gay Oreos, and the last time they were sold in stores.

Almost bought a box of Oreo cookies at COSTCO. Even had the box in my hand but gave it a pass. Phew, that was close.

Nabisco only putting one toe in the water, as they will not be on grocers' shelves. The Rainbow Oreos will be only given away with the help of PFLAG. ( don't ask) . No mention of the delicacy's segregation of the black cookies and the white cream filling.
