Chief Justice Roberts: RBG was a rock star

Chief Justice John Roberts on Wednesday paid tribute to Ruth Bader Ginsburg after the arrival of her casket at the Supreme Court, where the body of the iconic liberal justice will lie in repose for two days of public viewing. “Justice Ginsburg’s life was one of the many versions of the American dream,” Roberts said in a brief eulogy as members of her family looked on. Ginsburg died Friday of complications from pancreatic cancer at 87. “Her father was an immigrant from Odessa,” Roberts continued. “Her mother was born four months after her family arrived from Poland. Poppycock. Balderdash. And other appellations of derision and mockery. RBG was a fake Justice. Never a Judge, she remained an ADVOCATE on the Court. Look at the statue of Justice. She wears a blindfold and holds scales. The Justice does not favor any side. RBG always favored one side, the LGBT side. And as for abortion. 40,000,000 little voices will object to her going to Abraham's bosom.

A pox on George W. Bush, for not only appointing John Roberts to the Supreme Court, but for assigning him as Chief Justice. His contention that Justices of the Supreme Court are "rock stars" is pathetic, and suggests that they are of the same status as entertainers. Both of the Bush residents of the White House were very, very careless in their supreme court appointments.

While I agree with #3 that it does no good for CJ Roberts to be a jerk at a memorial service, he only did what evidently comes naturally to him, kiss up to the masses. Just saw a headline on Fox that voices outside the courthouse booed PDT and FLOTUS as they left the building. Maybe Roberts just thinks this is a way to keep his car from being keyed, or so the SC building doesn't get torched. In ANY event, he has proved to be unreliable as a jurist and a bit of a brown noser to the elite. Don't care what they have on him, I just see him as being one of the reliable four constitutionally illiterate side of the court. She won't rest in peace [at least not by biblical principle], but may she be buried in peace and let us get on with the show of appointing a replacement that will make her "rollover in her grave". Pass the popcorn, the next few weeks are going to be a doozy!!! MAGA!!! KAG!!! TRUMPS 2020 AND BEYOND!!! No she was not. She was a rebel who routinely violated her oath in taking the job. She legislated from the bench and did not do what she promised to do if approved for the court. She was not a good person - just look at her record on race where she had one black clerk in 27 years on the court. You would have to actively work to have that kind of record and she obviously chose to have it that way, especially in this age of "wokeness".

I'm no fan of John Roberts. That said, I think his comment could possibly be taken as a slam on Ginsburg. Saying that a judge, particularly a SCOTUS justice, is a "rock star" is no compliment. As others have suggested, the role of any judge is to be a dispassionate, neutral arbiter; it's not a popularity contest.

Less than six weeks before the election, one of the most profound disappointments among some of Joe Biden’s supporters is that he doesn’t even seem to be trying. If some Democrats are correct, crushing “The Donald” should have been easy. After all (according to them), President Trump is an impeached, sex-offending, tax-evading, white supremacist, coronavirus-mismanaging, sexist, racist, Islamophobic, homophobic, misogynistic, sexist liar who is wildly unpopular. Fox News’ Maria Bartiromo is reporting this morning that there will be no Durham interim report or indictments coming before the election. By the wording, she may actually be saying there’s no report coming at all.If true, this is a travesty of justice of the highest order given what has transpired the last five years.(Tweet) This isn’t someone leaking to the Times to cover their backside. Bartiromo is typically solid and is not anti-Trump in the least.Whether or not you believe this news will probably depend

Ibram X. Kendi, director of Boston University’s Center for Antiracist Research, wrote on Saturday that white people who adopt black children may be “racist,” joining a growing group of Democrats and leftists commenting on Judge Amy Coney Barrett’s Haitian son and daughter.Kendi wrote on social media: “Some White colonizers ‘adopted” Black children. They ‘civilized’ these ‘savage’ children in the ‘superior’ ways of White people, while using them as props in their lifelong pictures of denial, while cutting the biological parents of these children out of the picture of humanity.”

Jill Biden, the wife of Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden, said her husband is "ready" to face Donald Trump in the first presidential debate this week and accused the President of trying to distract with smears during the tense campaign. (Photo) "He's ready. One of the things I'm excited for is when the American people see Joe Biden up there on that stage," Jill Biden told CNN's Jake Tapper in a one-on-one interview that aired Sunday on "State of the Union." If this is the most important election in decades, this is its most important moment. Thus far, this campaign has been a referendum on Trump; Tuesday’s debate will be one on Biden. Its outcome depends on which Biden shows up. Like all races with a president seeking re-election, this one has centered on the incumbent. Thanks to a hostile media and Trump’s aggressive use of social media, America has had plenty of material for judgement. Topping it off, 2020 has been an acutely tumultuous year: Beginning with an impeachment trial and now a contentious Supreme Court vacancy — with a pandemic, a recession, and nationwide violence in between.

He was one of three police officers involved in the Louisville, Ky. drug operation that led to Taylor’s death in March. No charges were immediately announced against the two other officers involved in the raid, Myles Cosgrove and Sgt. Jonathan Mattingly.Rihanna took to Instagram on Friday,

Joe Biden’s presidential campaign called another early morning press lid at 9:20 a.m. on Thursday, leaving strategists and reporters wondering what the hell is going on. It was the ninth time this month that Biden had no public events on schedule and thus told the press before lunchtime that they would not be needed for the rest of the day. It’s downright bizarre that a campaign would squander nine perfectly good days that could be spent on the trail just two months out from the election. What was Biden doing during this time instead?
