New York Democrat Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is urging Empire State lawmakers to raise taxes, despite opposition from Gov. Andrew Cuomo. Ocasio-Cortez called on Cuomo and New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio to increase rates as the state battles a massive coronavirus-induced multi-billion-dollar budget hole. “I’m calling on Mayor de Blasio and Gov. Cuomo to raise revenue to fund universal child-care programs, significantly increase staffing at schools and fund the infrastructure improvements, including ventilation, that our school buildings need to be safe,” Ocasio-Cortez said in a statement obtained by The New York Post on Wednesday.

New York City will terminate business contracts with President Donald Trump after last week's insurrection at the U.S. Capitol, Mayor Bill de Blasio announced Wednesday.
The Trump Organization is under city contract to operate the two ice rinks and a carousel in Central Park as well as a golf course in the Bronx.
The Trump Organization profits about $17 million a year from those sites, de Blasio said.
“I’m here to announce that the city of New York is severing all contracts with the Trump Organization,” de Blasio said.
New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo said on Wednesday that income tax increases in the state were inevitable even if the government did dole out more coronavirus-related aid.
“You probably will see tax increases in any event,” Cuomo said during his press conference.
Cuomo had previously indicated tax hikes on the wealthy were on the table if the government failed to approve more funding for state and local governments.
The three-term Democratic governor said on Wednesday that the consequences would be “devastating” if Congress does not agree to provide aid, involving several thousand layoffs, increased fares and tolls and government borrowing.

The millions of Americans who were paying attention throughout the 2020 election campaign all became painfully aware of the fact that Joe Biden’s cognitive abilities were slipping and slipping fast. His wife, as the person closest to him, should have been the one to call the campaign quits in order to reduce stress on the man.
Instead, apparently so anxious to become the First Lady by any means necessary, Mrs. Biden continued to push her failing husband’s campaign forward as if he were mentally qualified.

I am extremely curious to see if Taco Barbie wins her re-election in the NY 14th Congressional District. She chased away 25,000 jobs, and the businesses that would have emerged to service those workers, and now she is practically demanding that taxes are RAISED right before her re-election. Personally, I think that AOC will be responsible for many people leaving NY and not returning, as well as many voting for Trump who wouldn't dare admit it out loud. Good for us, but BAD for NYC.
