Dem 'Squad' accuses Twitter of
shielding Trump from hate-tweets

Reps. Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., are complaining that Twitter has gone the extra mile to shield President Trump from tweets wishing him ill as he battles COVID-19 after failing to block death threats against them. As Trump, an avid Twittter user, faced brutal attacks on the platform Friday after reporting his diagnosis, the San Francisco-based social media giant said posts "that wish or hope for death, serious bodily harm or fatal disease against *anyone* are not allowed and will need to be removed."

Comments:

Somebody sounds very jealous over the attention they're not getting! I don't think anyone should be threatened over their political affiliation; but this needs some context. Trump is being threatened by anarchists and commie stooges who want to take over the gvt. The Squad is being threatened because a) they dont serve the public, just the Dem Party b)they haven't done anything in office to serve their constituents, just oppose Trump with a myriad of delay tactics c) AOC chased away 25,000 jobs from her little NY Congressional district. If anyone is sending her threats it might be Cuomo in Albany for killing future tax revenues.

These women are scary stupid. While I'm shocked Twitter is banning such comments, I'm overjoyed they are finally showing what we call class and common sense. No, won't last but I'd noticed a turnaround last night with many big names publicly wishing Trump the best. Confusing at best but I'll take it.

As disgusting as the hate speech against the President is in the country it pales in comparison to what is going on in China. The CCP has unblocked Western news sites to allow hateful articles about the President getting the Wuhan virus which they believe shows that God is actually on their side (even though they are atheistic). The day that Trump announced he was infected was the CCP National Day in China which is the biggest party holiday and they were celebrating his illness. Restaurants in Beijing were giving discounts to people who wished for the death of the President and First Lady. Nice people.

I am fortunate to have been blessed with good health and am thankful each and every day. With that being said, I would rather have Covid than be infected with hate radiating from the soul and saturating my entire body. That is toxicity with no cure. No one can thrive and live a peaceful, happy life consumed with vitriol and unfounded hate for someone who has done them no harm. These misfits seem to be drawn to the democrat party, the party of hate.

Perhaps the ban is because he is President and they are not? Personally, I think any wishing somebody dead on the Internet should be banned.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Hundreds of California-based corporations must have directors from racial or sexual minorities on their boards under a first-in-the-nation bill signed Wednesday by Gov. Gavin Newsom. The diversity legislation is similar to a 2018 measure that required boardrooms to have at least one female director by 2019. Like that measure, it could face court challenges from conservative groups who view it as a discriminatory quota.  Corrections*

Two Democrats on the Senate Judiciary Committee said they will not meet with Amy Coney Barrett -- President Trump’s pick to fill the vacancy on the Supreme Court. Trump announced on Saturday evening that he intends to nominate Barrett to fill the vacancy on the nation’s highest court after the death of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg last week. Democrats indicated that they will oppose Barrett’s nomination, citing her conservative credentials which they see as a threat to health care and abortion rights, while also arguing that it is too close to Election Day for Trump to nominate a justice.

Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., couldn't nail down a plan for what lawmakers should do if President Trump refuses to concede the White House if he loses in November, but said there will be a "number of plans" if that scenario were to take place. During an interview on HBO's "Real Time with Bill Maher" that aired Friday, Maher pressed Sanders on the specific plan that lawmakers have in place in the event Trump refuses to concede, telling the senator, “I still don’t know what the plan is.” "There are things that we have to do now to make sure that Biden wins," Sanders said.

SAN FRANCISCO — California’s largest wildfire is threatening a marijuana growing enclave, and authorities said many of the locals have refused to evacuate and abandon their maturing crops even as weather forecasters predict more hot, dry and windy conditions that could fan flames. The wildfire called the August Complex is nearing the small communities of Post Mountain and Trinity Pines, about 200 miles northwest of Sacramento, the Los Angeles Times reported. Law enforcement officers went door to door warning of the encroaching fire danger but could not force residents to evacuate, Trinity County Sheriff’s Department Deputy Nate Trujillo said.

The president is expected to make the announcement during a White House event on Saturday. Barrett currently serves as a judge on the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals. Trump, who has a campaign rally scheduled later Friday night in Virginia, declined to say who he will announce when pressed by reporters at Joint Base Andrews. "You’ll find out tomorrow,” he said.

One lawmaker is fighting attempts to change the name of the Mount Rushmore National Memorial monument, after the U.S. Board on Geographic Names fielded at least one suggestion to do so. A California resident has proposed changing the name of the monument to “Igmu Tanka Paha,” which means “Cougar Mountain,” TribLIVE reported on Friday. It was a name given to the mountain by the Lakota people, who also call it “Tunkasila Sakpe Paha,” meaning Six Grandfathers Mountain. But a senior researcher for the board told the publication that even if the request for renaming was approved, it would only apply to the mountain – not the monument.

Last year, a political party in Germany provoked controversy when it used the following painting in its election campaign to illustrate one of the reasons it was against immigration. Painted in France in 1866 and titled "Slave Market," the painting was described as "show[ing] a black, apparently Muslim slave trader displaying a naked young woman with much lighter skin to a group of men for examination," probably in North Africa.
