Cancel the Presidential Debates—Permanently

Original Article

Posted By: NorthernDog, 9/22/2020 12:15:42 PM

Imagine hating yourself enough to watch a presidential debate featuring Donald Trump. What reason would you possibly have? To make sure he’s a lying sociopath? To see if he’s a worse choice than Joe Biden? To gain useful insights into American politics? In truth, there is no point, especially in a format that will involve remote participation because of the pandemic. Nothing will be revealed that we don’t already know and know so thoroughly that we can barely stand to hear it again. We could cancel the upcoming debates and lose nothing. Hell, we’d gain precious minutes of our lives

Lefties are in full panic mood.

Any candidate who is running to be elected President of the USA should be ready, willing, and able to debate any opponent and win the debate. What is so wrong with that?

What? And waste all that popcorn? No way. If a candidate cannot handle a debate then he cannot handle the job of being President. I suspect there will be some move to cancel the debates however. This is just the prologue. I bet Joe comes down with COVID-19 and has to skip the debates... only to prove his remarkable health in making a full recovery a week before the election. Folks, it's NOT time to win. It is time to DESTROY the left. They want to destroy the nation. The nation needs to stand up and destroy THEM.

So much lying over the last fifty years, so much corruption, so much sexual misbehavior and on and on and on. I don't vote for perfect people, ain't none out there. I vote for people who say, and follow thru, they will govern as I believe we should be governed. Going back to LBJ and forward I can't think of a single Democratic president that didn't govern contrary to the constitution. Most of the Republicans too. Trump may be crude and given to hyperbole but when he says he will do something he usually does that thing. More power to him and four more years.

The 1st debate was in 1960. There were no debates in 1964, 1968 an6d 1972. Since 1976 there have been debates. It seems unlikely that there will not be debates into the foreseeable future because the viewers enjoy them and the TV networks/stations that sell advertising make handsome profits. They are not going to lose those profits without fighting like heck. The debates are BIG BUSINESS and TV money talks. .

#2 sees the big picture as far as old Joe and the debates are concerned. Chances are old Joe will test positive for the China virus the day before the first debate, will go into quarantine until the day after the third scheduled debate and will then make a miraculous recovery before the election. All as planned by his leftist and Liberal Democrat operatives and played up big time by the fake media, that it is somehow Trump’s fault that old Joe caught the China bug which never would have happened if Trump had done his job back in January to battle the China virus, instead of focusing upon the effort to impeach and remove him from office.

Senate Democrats are tamping down talk of expanding the Supreme Court if Republicans fill the seat held by the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Progressive activists and some lawmakers have raised the idea since Ginsburg’s death was announced on Friday night, arguing the party needs to be ready to take bold steps if they have the Senate majority and the White House next year while facing a 6-3 conservative court. The effort would tie together two controversial ideas: nixing the 60-vote legislative filibuster and then passing legislation to add seats to the Supreme Court, which has been set at nine

A former prosecutor on special counsel Robert S. Mueller III’s team writes in a new book that the group failed to fully investigate President Trump’s financial ties and should have stated explicitly that they believed he obstructed justice, claiming that their efforts were limited by the ever-present threat of Trump disbanding their office and by their own reluctance to be aggressive. (Snip) Weissmann, a former federal prosecutor and Justice Department supervisor who now teaches at New York University School of Law and comments as a legal analyst for MSNBC, is the first prosecutor on Mueller’s team to truly break his

CNN senior legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin shared harsh words for the Democratic Party as they push to keep the recently vacated Supreme Court seat unoccupied until after January's inauguration. Toobin, during a Monday morning appearance on New Day, argued that Democrats, who are the minority party in the upper chamber, are "wimps and they're afraid." He made the comments in response to a question about Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer saying, "Nothing is off the table next year." “Democrats are great about talking big, but we’ll see if he has the ... if he and the other Democrats have the

Move over Boaters for Trump, here come the Amish! The Amish/Mennonite community held a pro-Trump parade in Fredericksburg, Ohio, on Saturday — replete with horses and buggies, cows, wagons, and maybe a few chickens thrown in for good measure. The parade was organized by Bikers for Trump in an effort to help “energize” Amish/Mennonite support for Trump and provide the traditionalist Christian sects a more visible voice in the 2020 election. From horse-drawn carriages to wagons decorated with Trump-Pence banners, to two guys riding steers, it was a sight to behold. “All of the enthusiasm was on Trump’s side,” one

California Governor Gavin Newsom announced Wednesday that the state will ban sales of gas-powered vehicles, effective in 2035. Newsom said that the “audacious” goal was necessary to achieve the state’s goal of 100% renewable energy by 2045. Newsom said that his new executive order would “eliminate” the sales of “internal combustion engines” and move to electric vehicles — a move that he said would create jobs and allow California to “dominate” the market, and address climate change. Those who currently own gas-powered vehicles would still be allowed to operate them and to sell them on the used market.

The Biden campaign, which has bombarded President Donald Trump with attacks about his respect for U.S. soldiers, will be campaigning this weekend with Jane Fonda, a celebrity best known for fraternizing with enemy troops during the Vietnam War. Democratic vice-presidential candidate Kamala Harris is set to join Fonda at a Saturday virtual event held by progressive advocacy group Supermajority. The event—titled "Supercharge: Women All In"—will "bring together thousands of women to laugh, sing, dance, and celebrate women's political power," according to the group's website.

“Mean Girls” actor Jonathan Bennett will star in Hallmark’s first LGBTQ-themed holiday movie, “The Christmas House,” the network announced Wednesday. About two months ago, the Hallmark Channel announced that its 2020 holiday movie selection would include LGBTQ storylines, characters and actors. Now, the television cable channel is making good on its promise. “Our holiday table is bigger and more welcoming than ever,” Michelle Vicary, the executive VP of programming at Crown Media, Hallmark’s parent company, said Wednesday. “This year’s movies reflect our most diverse representation of talent, narratives, and families, including ‘The Christmas House’, featuring a storyline about a gay couple looking to adopt their first child,

WASHINGTON— President Donald Trump on Wednesday again declined to commit to a peaceful transfer of power if he loses the Nov. 3 presidential election.“We’re going to have to see what happens,” Trump said at a news conference, responding to a question about whether he’d commit to a peaceful transfer of power. “You know that I’ve been complaining very strongly about the ballots, and the ballots are a disaster.”It is highly unusual that a sitting president would express less than complete confidence in the American democracy’s electoral process. But he also declined four years ago to commit to honoring the election results if his Democratic opponent, Hillary Clinton, won.

As the Senate prepares for yet another brutal Supreme Court nomination fight, one particularly sensitive issue is creating apprehension among Democrats: what to do with 87-year-old Sen. Dianne Feinstein, the ranking member of the Judiciary Committee. Feinstein, the oldest member of the Senate, is widely respected by senators in both parties, but she has noticeably slowed in recent years. Interviews with more than a dozen Democratic senators and aides show widespread concern over whether the California Democrat is capable of leading the aggressive effort Democrats need against whoever President Donald Trump picks to replace the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

Mars Inc. has renamed its Uncle Ben’s rice products “Ben’s Original,” making it the latest food producer to ditch a brand steeped in racist imagery. The Virginia-based company is also scrapping the portrait of a white-haired black man that has adorned its rice boxes for decades—an image that’s long been criticized as a racist stereotype. “We’re still in the process of deciding on what our new iconography will be, but are committed to ensuring that it will be truly reflective of the inclusive future we are striving to create for Ben’s Original,” a Mars Food spokesperson said in a statement.

Palmetto Cheese, a regional pimento cheese brand based in South Carolina, is getting grilled by shoppers and social media alike after publicly comparing the Black Lives Matter movement to a “terrorist organization.” Now, Costco is pulling the popular cheese spread from its stores’ shelves, USA Today reports. Palmetto Cheese founder Brian Henry, who also happens to be mayor of Pawleys Island, spurred outrage last month when he took a controversial stand against BLM. “I am sickened by the senseless killings in Georgetown,” he wrote in a now-deleted Facebook post on Aug. 25, following the death of Charles Nicholas Wall and Wall’s stepdaughter, Laura Anderson, on Aug. 24.

The first presidential debate is next Tuesday, and I don't see Biden surviving. His campaign has been playing "hide the Crypt-Keeper" since spring, occasionally proving to the public that he's still ticking by having him tussle with a teleprompter while "objective journalists" participate in make-believe interviews. Biden's cognitive decline is now so steep that he begins reading pre-written answers to pre-written questions, forgets what he's doing halfway through, and settles for stringing syllables together that sound English-y in a non–native speaker sort of way. He is a man forever in search of a thought but finding none

Since approximately one minute after Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s death was announced on Friday, politicians on both sides of the aisle have been voicing their opinions about filling her seat just weeks before the next presidential election.President Donald Trump has said he will nominate a potential replacement at the end of the week. The left has already started a smear campaign against one of the candidates thought to be at the top of Trump’s shortlist, Judge Amy Coney Barrett of the 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.Their biggest gripe so far?
