Pregnant Black, Pacific Islander women in San Francisco to receive $1,000
monthly supplement

Approximately 150 pregnant Black and Pacific Islander women in San Francisco will receive a $1,000 monthly supplement during their pregnancies and for the first six months of their babies' lives, the city's mayor announced. Mayor London Breed's (D) office said on Monday that the Abundant Birth Project is the first of its kind in the country. The project's goal is to eventually provide a supplement for as long as two years post-pregnancy. “Providing guaranteed income support to mothers during pregnancy is an innovative and equitable approach that will ease some of the financial stress that all too often keeps women from being able to put their health first,” Breed said.

Comments:

Responsible folk will have to pay for others carelessness because of the 'persistent wealth and income gap'. But only to bLACKs and PIs.

No equal protection clause application here. White women don’t qualify because they are racist by definition. Like all wealth redistribution programs this one starts out at $1K during pregnancy then six months after but give it some time and the amount and time will continue up and up. Think this will incentivize women to get pregnant? This kind of money might keep them out of a Planned Baby Murder clinic.

How can she carve out two racial groups for taxpayer money support? $!5K/each x 150. $2,250,000. And the mayor (who happens to be black) wants the post=pregnancy support period from six months to two years. Such a deal. Mayor London Breed is setting up a breeding factory. Does no one protest?

If only the Left would stop obsessing about race and spend the resulting time and energy in reducing premarital pregnancies. If we looked at crime and other socio-economic data through the lens of comparing children with fathers at home versus those without fathers, we could actually devise strategies for dealing with this root cause of societal dysfunction. Roadmap to success: 1- Learn to speak, read, and write English. 2- Finish high school. 3- Don't have kids before marriage. 4- Obey police officers' lawful commands.

There is a gigantic, deadly game of “Let’s Pretend” going on in America. Politicians, the media, and activists are all pretending that the violence, the arsons, the beatings, and the mayhem in our city streets actually have a purpose. They pretend that the mostly peaceful protests are only being made violent by the mere presence of police officers. The media pretends that the rioters are “enraged” or fed up with “oppression” and “systemic racism” so that the chaos and thuggery is a completely normal response to the problem. Do these people really believe the riots are all about poor, drug-addled George Floyd?

One of the more disappointing aspects of Donald Trump’s presidency, at least for me, has been his continued support for both the execrable Renewable Fuel Standard and the ethanol lobby, particularly in Iowa. Sadly, in a pre-October surprise, the President has handed yet another gift to those players while dealing yet another blow to America’s drivers, boaters and the fossil fuel industry. This weekend, Trump approved the use of gas pumps designated for 10% ethanol blends for E15, or 15% blends, subject to state approval. The political component of this decision doesn’t even make much sense, to say nothing of the confusion it will cause among consumers and potential,
