Republican lobbyist and power broker Matt Schlapp told Yahoo News today that he is “disappointed” in his former boss, George W. Bush, for snubbing President Trump amid a daunting reelection effort. Bush has been noticeably quiet during this Republican National Convention, issuing not so much as a statement expressing support for the president.(Snip) “When you see the socialist agenda that’s being put forward by the Democratic Party, I think you can get past some of your personal animosity and support the president, especially when you see what the Democrats want to do to the policy legacy that you care about,”

Thank you, Mr. Schlapp for giving voice to multitudes of individuals who believed in and worked arduously on the campaigns for both George H. W. Bush and George W. Bush and now feel disappointed by a man thought to have compassion for people being subjected to personal and religious persecution and countries threatened by oppressors. Where is the compassion for this country as it faces the tyranny of those who want to destroy America as founded and take it from capitalism to Marxism?
It is one thing not to find the courage to support President Trump, but quite another for any former president of this country not to give voice to the well-being of this country that implores dissenters to end the riots, the violence, the mayhem; to remain silent as this country’s future hangs in the balance--its survival as founded, in God we trust, as a representative republic. Quite a sad and sorry disappointment.
In an address that 28-year-old Abraham Lincoln made in 1838 after just having been elected to a local political office in which he alluded to “a recent act of mob violence in Illinois,” he “warned that mobs or people who disrespected American laws and courts could destroy the United States.”
Excerpts of his speech entitled, “The Perpetuation of Our Political Institutions”
“Shall we expect some transatlantic military giant to step the ocean and crush us at a blow? Never! ... At what point then is the approach of danger to be expected? I answer. If it ever reach us it must spring up amongst us; it cannot come from abroad. IF DESTRUCTION BE OUR LOT WE MUST OURSELVES BE ITS AUTHOR AND FINISHER. AS A NATION OF FREEMEN WE MUST LIVE THROUGH ALL TIME OR DIE BY SUICIDE.”
Americans, our fate hangs in the balance on November 3, 2020.

I very much regret supporting Bush. I found myself cringing every time he spoke as he was a poor speaker. He should watch Trump and learn.

Trump; speaking out for him........Today, sadly I would question whether I'd vote for GWB......WHY are they so against DJT?......$$$$$$$$ ??

Mr. Schlapp seems a bit naive to be a "lobbyist and power broker." His comment is based on the assumption that the Republican past presidents really cared about their policies or the United States of America. Is he throwing cover or was he also a dupe of the Deep State?

A lot of what Biden wants, like giving up our national sovereignty, is what the Bushes wanted. They were just going a little slower is all.

The Bushes are still mad at Trump for taking the nomination away from Jeb. The people, however, are eternally grateful that he did. Two Bushes were two too many.

Hey George, I'd refer to him as President or ex-president, but he really does not deserve the title. To stand by while the Deep State is staging a coup to overthrow the government, while paid terrorists are destroying our cities attacking and murdering citizens and police, to say nothing as national monuments are defaced and destroyed, after being a 2 term President, is appalling. What a coward. What a small man to stand by while a President from his party is unfairly attacked daily. Who had his entire Presidency illegally prosecuted. What a worm you are, Mr. Bush. Remember your line, 'Either you are with us, or you are with the terrorists,' how sad and infuriating it is to see where YOU stand.

I could feel bad about voting for, and financially supporting GWB, but I won't because he was better than the democrat candidate. I have lost respect for him in recent years, To be honest, I took the same approach to voting for Trump, as I felt he was at least better than Hillary. This time, Trump is certainly better than Biden, but I will be proud to vote FOR Donald Trump.

I was a big supporter of Bush, even after he lost a lot of support over his immigration policies. He obviously cares more about the Bush family than the country. Very disapointed!

GW Bush will not be voting for Trump. I’m not sure if he will vote Biden but I’m sure his wife and daughters will as they are all liberals. I never understood the high esteem so many conservatives had for Luara Bush when she made no secret of her pro abortion and pro homosexual views. I never recall her even once voicing conservative positions on any issues.

As a Texan, I readily admit that George W. Bush was a great governor.
But Washington DC ruined him. So much cowering before the Demon-Rats just destroyed the good man that he had been for so long.
Then when President Trump stopped his brother from being appointed the Republican candidate in 2016, it pushed George W over the edge to RINO-ville!!!

Not only did Pres. Trump take the nomination from Jeb, he defeated Bush's sister-in-law, Hillary Clinton. Remember the Bush's "adopted" Bill Clinton.

W was, in the words of Boehner, "the best we could get". Could have been much more than he was. He had the majorities but did nothing of lasting value.

Bush is just demonstrating how small and calculating he and the rest of his family is. His wife and daughters' leftism rubbed off on him. Actually, he was already quite lefty just covered it up for some time. I regret that we voted for him. Small useless stuttering idiot!

I first split with GWB over illegal immigration back in 2007. Only burning up the congressional switchboard stopped amnesty and they haven't listened to us since.
He is a globalist and is still ticked off about Jeb getting trounced. It makes me sick to think about all the hours I spent working on his campaigns.
